According to this bracket :http://www.collegehockeynews.com/reports/confinfo.php?d=bracket&c=6 the Gophers would play the winner of SCSU and UMD on Thursday at the Final Five. Then we would play the winner of that game. Sounds like a Friday night game either way for us. Of course, the bottom of this bracket also says teams are reseeded for the Final Five?

Sorry I couldn't hear that over all the boos at Ridder. The UM staff may not hold any ill will, but others do and that could be a misconception by fans in our fan base. Seriously, it's not like the Twins transferring really affected the Gophers in a negative way. That said, of course the Wisco forwards on the 1st team have over 70 points.... they've lost 2 games all year.

Going to a HS game at 4, so I will miss this game as well, but will be watching online later tonight. I hope the twitter updates are sufficient unlike last Friday. Really should get a more capable phone with better internet access... Let's go boys!

I think what was meant is that Simpson is not a flight risk for this coming summer. And neither is Forbort. IMO, Forbort's here at least 2 and Simpson 3. At this time anyways, if either makes drastic developments, that could change.

My thoughts? My thoughts are if UNO wins the Final Five, I'll be spending a lot of time at the bar after the game. Maybe I'm alone here (and that wouldn't surprise me) but I despise UNO and am sick of hearing about them.

I live in Minneapolis, so I'm not all stressed about the format. HOWEVER, I'm currently working a temp job and time off is NOT easy to get. Had the format stayed the same, I wouldn't have an issue, but now I have to worry about figuring out leaving work early due to the early start times on Thursday and Friday. SO thrilled. Oh well, could be worse. Maybe I'll go late to the first Thursday game and just worry about Friday. I do have the Frozen Four to worry about too. That said, I'm ready for the Final Five and wish it would get here already!

Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.... Those of us that get our tickets from ticketmaster just get the old generic yellow and orange tickets. I wouldn't be complaining too much.

Yeah, don't go around thinking because the students are on break that tickets will be easier. When I was in school, we stayed for the series, went home for a few days and hit up the final five the next weekend. Lots of students do this. Get tickets asap. It's the best bang for you buck you're going to get as the tickets are cheaper than most single game tickets. Of note, we were the only WCHA school to sell out our series last season. (Though we did play the Gophers) But I think we would of sold out either way.

One player that we've shown some level of interest in has been Thomas Schutt, who plays for Minnetonka down here in the Twin Cities. He's a senior. He's already been on an unofficial visit to campus. His brother goes to UND currently, and photographic evidence suggests he's a Sioux fan. I like that. Players that aren't gopher brainwashed that live in the Twin Cities. I've seen him play a couple times. I think he's kind of in the Jason Gregoire mold. Pretty underrated,Smart, 2 way player with capabilities to shut down other team's top lines. Good skater, decent size, plays the point on the power play, good at disrupting plays and creating turnovers, has some grit and offensive skills. He doesn't have the big offensive numbers (30 points in 23 games) but part of that probably has to do with his team and the fact that they have 5 guys with 30 + points. And he does a lot of little things really well, which is why he reminds me of Gregoire. I think he's a guy to keep an eye on, particularly when he hits juniors. He's drafted by Lincoln in the USHL. I'm looking forward to the state tournament to see if anyone jumps out at me there. I've been wondering myself if anyone has any other inside info on who we are recruiting, particularly if they are in the area so I can go watch them play! So if anyone knows of any other kids I should go watch play down here, let me know! On a side note, UNO sure has gotten a lot of pretty solid recruits lately! I've been impressed with some of the guys they've been able to land.

Mike Lee has never beaten the Sioux. His stats against us are TERRIBLE. I actually wondered if he is somewhat intimidated. Who knows. That said, he could shake that slump at any time so we'll need to be ready to expose all of SCSU's weaknesses for what they are.
