  1. Devils 2003-04 Final Roster David Hale made the final cut for the Devils roster. Oh yeah...so did some guy named Martin. Never heard of him though.
  2. Doesn't matter...he got worked like a clown!!
  3. The charges against Heatley will be upgraded to Vehicular Homicide (or was it vehicular manslaughter)...not good for him. Condolences to the Snyders as well.
  4. I got out the 6th Ave. entrance rather quickly at the Wild game...Sioux games will be different as I won't be able to park in that lot.
  5. I had the players right. Just needed to swith Hale and Schneider.
  6. Anyone have a pic of what they looked like?...I missed the game because I was supposed to go to a wedding in Fargo...ended up not going (I'm pissed)
  7. Remove the Glass!!!!!!! Bring back the chicken wire from the old barn
  8. HA!! You're wrong already...hot dogs are grossly overpriced!! Flatspin...tell your woman and her sister to cheer loud to make up for my abscense(I will be attempting to hook up with some tandom hot chick at a wedding in Fargo...I'll give ya a call Sunday if I am back before I have to go to work to explain). Go Sioux!!!
  9. Pretty impressive arena. Good for them. Not crazy about the name though...I hate this naming rights stuff (PacBell Stadium, U.S. Cellular Field, etc...) They need to bring back the classic names like Soldier Field, Comisky Park, Ralph Englestad Arena , and the Rivercentre. It looks like they've learned from REA and built the suites in a place where standing students won't bother them.
  10. Cutter...kiss my a$$. Who are YOU to tell me I am not a real Sioux fan? Because I agree with WPoS on the netting issue? What does it have to do with being a Sioux hockey fan? BTW...in case you've missed it, I grew up in the TC. I was a Gopher die hard growing up, I went to high school with Troy Riddle, I saw the light when I went to school here and became a die hard, hardcore Sioux fan. It's not like I stopped being a Gopher fan...just not as much as a Sioux fan.
  11. Since we are predicting box scores... 1st: Shots UND 17-8 Bockenski (Parise, Jones) 3:47 Parise (Murray, Schneider) 6:19 Caig (Stapleton, Petruic) 15:34 Lundbohm (Massen) 17:18 2nd: Shots UND 29-17 Stapleton (Caig) 6:40 3rd: Shots UND 41-26 Prpich (Lundbohm, Greene) 10:19 Penalties: 1st: Caig (slashing) 5:28 Greene (roughing) 13:58 2nd: Jones (hooking) 9:36 Petruic (tripping) 13:56 Caig (high-sticking) 17:52 3rd: UMD (too many men) 9:57 Parise (hooking) 19:13 If I even get one right......
  12. scmidtty...Thor Nelson? I know there is a Chris Nelson that is an instructor up here, that also works with me at Target...brother perhaps? I was actually talking about Brian Mach...his sister Molly was my instrument instructor, she was actually the best instructor I've had up here. Gaborik needs to get rid of that greedy agent and sign. And why is Dupuis holding out? He's good, but I have a feeling he's asking for more money than he is worth. We were also missing Wes Walz last night...leg injury I think. BTW...I thought jersey chasers stopped after college, not so. There were 3 of them sitting behind me. I was wishing for Sioux jersey chasers after that, at lest their decent looking. "Oh my god, I just saw a player talikng outside on his cell phone." Gasp."Who was it?" "I don't know he was about 5'11" and had blonde hair and talking in a foreign language. I think it was Pierre-Marc Bouchard. If it was Wes Walz I would have asked him to sign my jersey, I love Wes."
  13. Conditioning is pretty important in the NHL these days...look at some players like Pronger and MacInnis...nearly 40 minutes a game. And MacInnis is at least pushing 40 years old if he isn't already. If you're a star in the NHL...you will play a lot, and you need to be able to handle it.
  14. First of all there are only something like 61 D1 hockey teams, so going to a tournament of 24 or even 32 would be insane. While teams that finish 15 and 16 in the PWRmay not have a great chance at winning a NC...they have a better one than anyone from the MAAC/AH or the CHA. Teams like Providence, Michigan St. and Duluth proved they can play with the BC's and Minnesota's last year and I think that they deserved a shot. I don't like the autobids for the weaker conferences, as it is mearly a bump in the road for two of the top 4 teams. I think that until AH and the CHA prove that they can put one or two teams up in the top 20 of the PWR...they shouldn't get an autobid. I know they have them for a reason...I just don't agree with them. I also don't see how it helps recruiting..."Come to Mercyhurst, where you can get in the NCAA tournament only to get your a$$ kicked by a team like North Dakota or Boston College."
  15. clshneids...you're right, I worked my ass off in football and hockey practice in high school, I should have been on the varsity hockey team and should now be playing both for Notre Dame . That is ludacris reasoning. If it was between him and Foyt, and we know we need a Dman more than yet another goalie, you go with Foyt. As far as which goalie to cut, maybe Ziggy and Parise just simply outplayed him in practice. I like Ranny a lot and wish he was on the team, but if he's not good enough to make it, he shouldn't.
  16. Just so everyone who's talking legalities is aware...you cannot sue the arena or the team if you get injured by a puck. There is a disclaimer on the ticket, and they announce it before the games (I've heard they don't really protect the arena, but I think that source might be wrong). Columbus gave the little girl's family a large chunk of change because it was the right thing to do, not to prevent a lawsuit. People do sue for a lot these days, but businesses also cover their asses pretty well. The McDonald's incident...the coffee was upwards of around 200 degrees, much hotter than it should have been (I think around 100 degrees or so). The ones that really piss me off are the one's that get lung cancer from smoking 3 packs a day and sue the tobacco companies. I am siding with WPoS here. If you are not there to watch some good old time hockey and just socialize, don't go, or at least sit in the nose bleeds. When I am at a game, I watch the game (fights behind the play and random hot chick sightings excluded, of course ) when I am there, and hate it when I see someone reading a book or playing on a laptop during the game (I have seen both and almost slapped them, (BTW...the reader was in OUR seats too, which really pissed us off...remember this flatspin, she was with the Evil Hockey Bitch). Stay home and let the REAL fans handle the live game. If any of the legal stuff is wrong...any lawyer is free to come on here and tell me I am a legal idiot and should never become a lawyer
  17. I liked AA coach John Hill's comment "We'll at least double our win total from last year." "The WCHA will send an All-Star team to Italy in August. Don Lucia will coach it." I like this idea. What about getting other conferences to do the same...so we can kick them around the rink Thanx Jim
  18. Your thinking of Tkachuck's breakaway in the 2nd...Sejna had one in the third, that was defended cleanly that Roli turned aside. And as far as Murray Baron...forgot about that, I'm still thinking he's on the Canucks.
  19. They did. Actually they got 2. But since only one team from each school is eligible they didn't list it.
  20. I thought Sejna played pretty well, he got denied by Roloson on a breakaway...there was a Wild player on his heels though, I think it was Zyuzin or Kuba, but that's just a guess. Panzer got the loudest cheer when starting lineups were announced (he was the only Sioux player that started), and lost the opening faceoff to Zholtok, but all in all played a pretty decent game. He looked really small on the ice, so did Sejna. Tkachuck was the player that Bombardier took out...it looked to me like it was more like Brad tried to avoid him and got tangled up, but the takedown was pretty cool. redwing...are you sure you SAW the MacInnis shots. I just remember a wind up and then it was in the corner . Roloson had an outstanding game and was tested quite a bit. I didn't see the Mellanby goal (damn beer line) but Rycoff's was a pretty good shot through a screen On a semi-related note, one of the linesman had a UND connection too. I don't know if he went to school here, but his sister did and was my flight instructor in the spring of 2002.
  21. I believe that she was a 10 year old girl, and it was a deflected shot from Espn Knutsen at a Blue Jacket's game. Safety is more important than the cost here. As much as we would like, not everyone is going to be watching hte game as closely as most of us, so there needs to be something in place to protect those that don't.
  22. I thought I heard on The Fan today that Heatley was being charged with a felony as a result of the accident...anyone know exactly what he is being charged with besides reckless driving and a possible DUI (depending on BAC test results). Sounds like Heatley was begining to feel invincible. Hope this brings him back to earth. Good luck to Dan Snyder. I certainly hope he gets to play hockey again.
  23. Not in the student section !?!?!...It's a dry campus, UND students don't consume mass quantities of alcohol, that's the most asanine thing I've ever heard. Now that I am back from Kupchella's Fantasy Island...if the bear ain't careful and gets in my way (like those damn blimps), I'LL rip his tongue out ala MacTavish. I'd say what else I'd do, but this is a family board. .
  24. I think our non-conference schedule is fine this year. We play a powerhouse in BC, and then we also have Yale, who isn't exactly Canisius, but at the same time, isn't Michigan or Boston. We should beat Yale, but they won't roll over and die, it'll require 3 periods of solid hockey. Well, maybe 2-2 1/2. You need to have a good mix of good teams and not-so-good teams. BTW...I find it hard to believe that the media of all people would skew the context of a quote. I mean, it NEVER happens.
