  1. Yep, they scan your ID when you walk into the arena to make sure you are really a student. They don't look at them closely like the liquor stores do when they card, but they just want to make sure that students are using student tickets.
  2. FHG...I'm sure you know better than anyone how crazy WPoS is. As for my adrenaline rush...I'll stick to spins.
  3. couldn't have said it better myself Speez...was the T-shirt referring to Joe Nieuwendyk? Good luck Karl...Just don't play the against Wild, that way we can kick their ass.
  4. Yeah, land it in a field instead For those that don't know...we had a little incident here a few month's ago. Some chick TURNED OFF her alternator, saw the light go on, panicked and landed in a field 7 or so miles from the airport. FYI, the engine WILL NOT quit working with a full electrical failure, it is self-sustained. The people whose field she landed in saw her becasue her lights were on... End of propheadish post...I shall now return to my normal self. I apologize. -------------------------------------- BTW...we're not all that stupid
  5. Well, since you put it that way..... I'll fly you guys to the jump point or whatever (after the right training of course) but it would take a lot of arm twisting to get me to do it I think.
  6. Yeah, and I think it's better than a bad day of skydiving too.
  7. WPoS is right about the height issue, you can't really tell past 6 or 7000 feet. But while it might be fun, I don't know if I'd ever do it. I like to have the same amount of takeoffs as landings.
  8. While never attending a Blais camp, I have heard that Blais takes great interest in the kid's development as players. I attended Dahl's camp at JBSU before my first year of Bantam's, and while Dahl seemed like a nice guy, he never went out on the ice to work with us, it was his assistant's and a few WCHA players (mostly JBSU and a Wisco...now you know why I'm not good enough to play in D1, look who was showing me how ). Still the camp was a lot of fun.
  9. I have to disagree with this. At best his signing bonus would stay the same, should all that stuff happen. Think about it, he HAS to sign with NJ if he comes back, he has no more leverage. To quote a pretty damn good song....Take the money and run. (Could be a movie too, but what do I know, I'm hammered)
  10. ScottM is absolutely right. I think that Brandt is better than his numbers show, if you remember we didn't let up a lot of shots this year (Same case can also be made for Weber). Brandt's GAA shows that he let up less than almost anybody last year, but the SV% indicates not a whole lot of shots. I'm prett confident that Brandt can be our #1 next year, and if either Parise (Jordan) or Zieglemann can beat him out, it bodes pretty well for how good we can be between the pipes next year.
  11. I hadn't heard it down there before that year, but maybe I just didn't notice. I'll take your word for it.
  12. ........and the hooomme, of thhhheee, Siiooooooouuux!!!! Yeah, i do it everywhere too. I started hearing it from Gopher, and JBSU fans at the Final Five in 2001. The Thursday night game, as the national anthem came to a close, there was a loud Sioooux from the Sioux faithful in attendence. The next night, JBSU and Gopher fans started doing the same thing. It's nice that NDSUCKS can finally join us at the elite D1 level.
  13. Great Site, WPoS, Siouxsports league might be something to think about.
  14. To show you how good of a team this was, There is a mural enititled "The Dream Team" hanging up in our breakroom at work (SuperTarget in Grand Forks). Great quote by that Minnesota fan too. WPoS...you guys are putting Shephard's kids through college with the UND games aren't you?
  15. Gopher fans are cocky...leave it at that...slap shot was absolutely right, they were win they wern't winning titles every year, why stop now. Goon...80's and 90's...who are you Tiger flippin Woods (compared to me at least)?
  16. Here's what I have seen from the PP this year. When it was on fire, it was on fire. At times they seemed to put a lot of pressure on in about one PP per weekend. The main problem I have seen was converting. Countless times a shot from the point would get through, the save would be made and nobody would be around to get the rebound and it would bounce back out to the D or to them. Working the puck around in the zone was good, but we also need to shoot more (read my signature ). I don't think it was as much not getting the puck off as much as not enough, or not at the right time (Super and airmail's delaying issue). Dagies, are you serious about Palmiscino? I didn't see any of the kato games this year, but from what I have seen from him, he is a good energy line guy, but that's about it.
  17. Naw, I think that Andy really does think that Brady has a nice mother, can't imagine where they would have met before . Lets not get into politcs over here. Nobody in hockey gets involved in politics, too many big, confusing words that lawyers use (no offense to any lawyers).
  18. The Devils say that both DeMarchi and Hale will have a shot at a roster slot next year. Redwing might be right in the fact that DeMarchi might see the NHL first, due to health concerns with Dave, but I do believe Hale will be a better player. Not to downplay DeMarchi's ability, but I think that Hale is better and will be in the long run.
  19. You make one little comment.......never live it down Why does it seem like the roles are reversed on this one...POI seems to love to talk Parise while over here it seems to be Vanek?? Strange....WPoS, we might have to Didn't this thread start about Roche? I hope to see him in green and white next season in the NHL, and congrats to him and Skarp on the wedding thing. Handy, do I? I guess I go over there to get away from the Vanek talk and see some Parise threads . ANYWAYS....BACK TO TRAVIS ROCHE.......Go Wild!!
  20. Badger fans are pretty humble. My uncle attended UW and is, sadly, a BADger fan. Beer is also pretty cheap in the state of Wisconsin, so yeah, they were probably drunk, too (much like myself at the moment ) No, there isn't much to do in Grand Forks, except for go to the bars, but that doesn't have anyhting to do with the Sioux attendence numbers. If you have a quality program, people will come to your games, it's a fact. kiork...I can only assume you are talking about the standing issue. I personally could see the entire ice as well as those not in sections 110 and 107. Get over it. There's been 2, count them, 2 threads discussing this issue already.
  21. Wasn't the Wookie a forward? I was kind of hoping to see Murphy with the Wild for more than a gamem but I think that he will have a better chance playing for Nashville than he would with the Wild. Best of luck to Murph, show 'em what Sioux hockey is all about. Nashville still needs defenseman even if they aquired Murphy, I would think they still migh try to get Suter to sign.
  22. Promising, Duluth has had pretty good goaltending recruits in Reichmuth, plus Anderson was solid as well this year. flatspin7...you too good for AIM now, or what? Just too busy with Double I, huh? BTW...no, not yet (for both questions you'd probably ask )
