  1. Surprisingly he doesn't, but even though he has been banned for a while they still dig up a few rants from other message boards, he's as nuts as ever. I think Frank Burggraf was the 4th region. Once in a while I check out their 'FCS News From Other Schools' thread, but stumbled onto the Tournament under 'Smack Talk' and got a good laugh out of it. Of course quite a bit of it is UND-based, but they hammer their own guys too so it's pretty good.
  2. You know what they say..."Excuses are like a**holes, everybody has one".
  3. No but he does have his own Region, along with Rob Port, Al Carlson, and I can't remember who the fourth one was. Pretty funny stuff actually.
  4. He has to keep posting or else they can't have their "Preposterous Statements" tournament on Bisonville, Dave had many zingers in this years edition.
  5. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I almost fell out of my effin chair on that one!
  6. I've heard of those guys. They're called "dictators". Or "tyrants".
  7. How about a cow wielding a hockey stick? That would effectively be both a good representation for each school and the main target for the opposing school. Probably not a good idea.
  8. That's good news. I was wondering, is your avatar some superhero I'm not catching on to or is it some kind of UND sith lord deal?
  9. And the worst-kept secret in college sports creeps one step closer to being official.
  10. Would the NCAA go along with this idea? If so the 3-tier system would be closer than anyone expected, the Big Sky might get pushed hard to join the second tier. Notre Dame being forced to join a conference would make me smirk however.
  11. So using this analogy you're saying Montana should never schedule anybody (including NDSU) OOC unless it is at Missoula because 28,000 trumps all? As a Griz fan I like the sound of that, but that's not the way it works. College football has to be as much about rivalries, especially local rivalries, as it is about sheer numbers because keeping interest high among the fans is what makes it work, and in North Dakota that rivalry is UND-NDSU. And now that UND is about through the transition the records will start getting closer, and there will be a day...maybe not for a year or three...when UND will field a superior team to NDSU, and then when the UND fans say "Why are we playing the Bison, it can only hurt us if we lose" you'll understand how these things really work. Play the rivalry, the fans want to see it.

  13. The real UND fan who will take your seat thanks you.
  14. I wonder how many times I've seen this video with different subjects...Favre, Obama, the Death Star, Chuck Norris...there must be a thousand of these floating around.
  15. Two thoughts on this: First, football is astronomically more important to people as far as the rivalry goes than any other sport...always was, always will be. Secondly, you might be a little too young to remember the full effect of how this series used to be in the old days. It's not going to take long for the coaches, fans, alumni, media, etc... to jump all over this game when it gets closer, and the players are going to feel that emotion and they will bring it when the opening kickoff hits the air.
  16. About frickin time (2nd time this week I've used that).
  17. I would expect a number of full-page ads and a radio blitz the week before the vote.
  18. Big surprise there, living in denial and refuting everything that has happened or is on the verge of happening has become the rule for the nickname-or-die crowd, they absolutely will not get it until the roof caves in...but that will be someone elses fault too. The only thing they're gaining by continuing to spin the issues is screwing UND deeper and deeper into the ground.
  19. Thanks for saving me the trouble of posting pretty much exactly what you said, the only thing I would add is when you look at Texas high school football with around 14 different divisions it's not too hard to imagine that the NCAA could split D1 into 3 divisions nationally and they could all thrive.
  20. How do you expect people to be specific about a hypothetical situation thrown out in an interview by a BCS school? If this would happen down the road, and it's not as farfetched as it was 5 years ago, tweaking the scholarship numbers will be the easiest problem they will have to deal with. How about 85-75-63, or 93-85-70, or xx-xx-xx? It's an arbitrary number that the NCAA would have a committee examine and make recommendations on, and then they would set the numbers.
  21. Cue the ranting in 3...2...1...
  22. Games like this are pretty common for FCS teams, 2 years ago most of the Big Sky teams hosted teams from a DII conference and after gaining a big lead worked their younger guys in to see what they had and work on stuff, last year a lot of them played up and got killed by the big boys who got a big lead and worked their younger guys in and worked on stuff. Killing someone hapless or getting killed by someone who makes you look hapless is not unusual for decent FCS teams. That said, UND should not have to schedule a game like this again unless the BSC agrees to play a specific conference like they did 2 years ago.
