  1. So if this continues the East will be all banged up and exhausted when someone finally reaches the finals, and whoever *cough*Oshie*cough* makes it from the West should be fresh and roll through to the championship. That's what I get out of it.
  2. Hextall was the nastiest goalie ever. He'd smack guys on the legs skating by like he was chopping weeds with a sickle. Whether he was mad at them or not. You didn't see guys living in the crease like they do now when he was in goal, he'd punish them. And he would throw into a fight in a moments notice too, all of a sudden you'd see him flying towards the blue line after somebody...not a normal goalie move. I bet guys hated playing against him. I just looked it up, he had over 100 penalty minutes in each of his first 3 seasons and was suspended for 6 or more games on 3 different occasions. Wow.
  3. That would grind them, everybody I know from Minnesota badmouths Iowa.
  4. Better team, better chance to win it all, exposure, yada yada yada
  5. Big. First thing that popped in my mind...will that help get Seth here?
  6. I see Kreider scored a goal tonight, not a bad month... Win a Frozen 4 Get on the playoff roster for the #1 seed Score a crucial goal in an elimination game It's the Summer of George for him.
  7. 60 years...that's something, although I'm a little surprised it has ever happened. Now if we can get 6 or 7....
  8. I didn't realize every game had gone to OT, I couldn't stay awake for a couple of the games at Phoenix and just caught the final score. Have they said if that has ever happened before?
  9. Yeah but double reverse psychology is.

At least they don't have a big Alerus logo across the face of them. Sarcasm intended. Honestly they look like throwbacks.
  11. I don't know why the NCAA would, the only time you settle out of court is when you are obviously wrong or you think a jury might find you wrong even if you aren't. I'm sure they feel they have enough documentation to proceed with this if they have to.
  12. Caps beat Boston on a goal that Thomas probably should have had, puts the defending champs on the brink going to Washington. Flyers must be feeling a little pressure now too, last thing they want to do is go back to Pittsburgh for a game 7. Been a fun playoffs thus far.
  13. I bet he would have got 4 games if: A) He wasn't a habitual offender. B) The playoffs to that point hadn't been a bloodbath and the league was feeling a little heat. He was made an example of.
  14. In this case it works out, but the $2500. max fine is a joke for guys like Weber.
  15. Looks like for once I was right. Good for the NHL, nice to see a league have the balls to do the right thing once in a while. Now about that $2500. maximum fine thing...
  16. No score about halfway through the second. EDIT: 2-0 Caps late second EDIT: and now 2-2 really late second, what is this Pens/Flyers all of a sudden?
  17. I wasn't relating anything to this situation, I was just adding to what Chewey stated that the NCAA has shown in the past that they have no problem badgering and harrassing people who resist them, to the point of abusing their power. In our case, they have a signed note which gives them permission to do it.
  18. Oh boy, I was trying to get a little ribbing in on Goon and look what I started.
  19. Someone posted earlier that it is. Quote: Hakstol’s contract calls for a base salary of $300,000 with possible bonuses for the team’s performance on the ice and in the classroom. The bonuses, capped at 45 percent or $135,000, and deferred income could potentially bump his annual compensation over $400,000. The assistant coaches — Cary Eades and Dane Jackson — also were addressed in the new contract. A pool of $262,874 will be divided in some way — not necessarily equally — between them for the 2012-13 season. They have bonus potential as well. Contracts for the assistant coaches will be renewed annually and the pool to pay them will increase 3 percent for each of the remaining seasons. Almost half as much as your salary is pretty decent for incentives. Most coaches have some of performance incentive in their contracts, I like the idea of adding classroom performance also...help get these kids ready for life after hockey.
  20. They also settled out of court when Jerry Tarkanian sued them for harrassment after he wrote an article stating something to the effect that they looked the other way when big schools had infractions but punished smaller schools for the same thing (which was very true). They never admitted they harrassed Tarkanian for the two decades he claimed following the article, but everybody knew they had a hard-on for him and they settled out of court for $2.5 million to save the embarrassment of a trial.
  21. They did lead the league in majors and were third in total penalty minutes so I don't think they're exactly in the running for "Miss Congeniality".
  22. These Alerus logos dominating the visual attention of the field reminds me of the old saying "nobody is there to see the refs", meaning nobody is there to look at the building just like nobody goes to a hockey game to see the officials make calls...it's about the product you laid your cash out for to watch. They should not be the focal point of the field, they should be on the 25's opposite the BSC logos, and there should be the interlocking ND at midfield. The end.
  23. As goofy as this series has been, probably 1-0 in triple OT. Crosby inadvertently kicks one in his own goal.
  24. No midfield logo but 2 big Alerus logos between the 40's? Pretty lame.
