I'm not surprised, I think a lot of the Bison fans talked it up but when it came down to it they did the right thing, even a lot of the diehards on BVille either didn't vote on it or voted yes to end it.

Some people have said that they haven't stated where the shortfall will come from, it would be almost a billion dollars of revenue lost without a plan to cover that income. Of course now the argument would be oil money will take care of it, but I think many people fear that will end someday and the state would be in a bind. Don't know if that is the only argument or even a valid one, just what I've heard.

It's not any better, some of you may have heard we had another deal here in Montana last weekend, a guy was driving through from Washington going to Williston to work, saw a hitchhiker standing beside the road reading a Historical Marker...and shot him. For no reason. Luckily he didn't hit any vitals, but he is still in the hospital so it must have done quite a bit of damage. Who does that? The truly ironic part of the story, the guy hitchhiking was from West Virginia and was writing a journal as he was traveling named "The Kindness of America". I sh*t you not. We've had 3 really bad incidents in the last year in this area...the Sherry Arnold murder, an oil guy deliberately run over and killed, and now this, and all 3 were perpetrated by people coming to Williston from other states looking for work. It's not good.

My response is....

Especially since this is a unique situation, usually low turnouts favor financial-based initiatives because it means nobody is heavily against, but in this case there are people with about 4 or 5 different agendas voting on this issue so who knows where it will end up.

Is there some kind of vote going on there today? Anything important?

Most of the hotels really close to the TC are very expensive ($200.+), but there is a Holiday Inn and a Best Western fairly close that are more reasonable.

It's great that it's worked out well for both of you, you have done better than most in that situation.

I would never want to coach my kid, from what I've seen it usually goes one of two ways...either the coach favors his kid too much, or is overly hard on his kid...not a good situation either way. Not saying there aren't a lot of coaches who are able to coach their children objectively and fairly, but boy do the ones who can't stick out like a sore thumb.

I actually would rather listen to Dave than some of the others who have drifted in and out of here lately, at least I understand his position and have a somewhat clear view of what he believes, some of these other guys are all over the board on what they think and fly off on tangents that have no relevance or are totally false, gives me a headache just trying to follow along.

Honestly sir, despite what Fetch, Dave, and a few others think, we are ALL pissed that we are having this nickname policy shoved down our throats, but even though we all preached hard and defended the name early on, most of us have realized that this is a rigged game that we cannot win and for the sake of the school and the athletes who have, are currently, and most importantly will in the future play there we have to let it go...the price will be too high in the end.
