I missed that, I thought he was just coaching this year because it was too late when they let Pflugrad go to get somebody else...I guess we'll see how the offseason plays out then.
-
Probably because Delaney is an interim coach and the new guy will want to bring his own people in, so they'll ride out the rest of this disaster with who they have.

Huh, just got home and was looking at the Montana/UND game thread UND/NDSU peter-measuring thread and was wondering about the 29 pages...now it makes sense. Looks like it was an entertaining game back and forth, I know our secondary is bad but really...660 yards? That is pathetic. Will be interesting to see if MSU can slow down the UND passing game, they haven't been playing that impressively lately and McGhee has been rattled before in close games so they have a chance. Long year for the Griz, the only thing left now for us is the Cat/Griz game, can salvage some dignity by knocking them off. Moving into hockey mode...

Should be a good game and a good crowd as Montana always travels well, would be nice to see something close to a sellout for a change. 3 weeks ago I would have said Griz by 17, now it looks like a toss-up, especially if Moore is still out. Wish I could make this one but I'm taking my kid to the Supercross event in Vegas and of course it had to fall on the same weekend...figure the odds (no pun intended).

They've probably spent 99% of their time watching film trying to figure out how to stop Bauman and the question caught him off guard.

I hate the QB-by-committee approach...makes both guys tight and scared to make the next mistake and they spend more time watching the sidelines to see if the other guy is warming up than trying to figure out the defense.

I think expectations were a little too high coming in this year. After watching all the UND games I could the last few years and hundreds of BSC games for many years it looked like UND was going to have serious problems on the defensive side, they didn't look like they were built for the wide-open BSC style especially in the secondary. What I didn't expect this year was the porous run defense, that seemed to be a strength coming in but they haven't been able to shut anybody down, and with NAU and Montana coming up it could get uglier yet. Back to the thread title, what needs to change, there isn't much they can change at this point. The season is halfway over so you can't really overhaul your scheme, and personnel is limited by injuries. What makes sense to me is bringing pressure on almost every play, even as bad as the secondary has been they really don't have any choice but to put 8 guys in the box and try to plug the running lanes and force quick throws on passing plays, because nobody can defend against second and 2 all night regardless of how good they are. Sure it will put corners on islands, but at least it would slow the running game and force quicker throws, and I like that better than an 8 yard run and then a QB standing tall and picking the secondary apart. A blitzing, pressure defense can disguise a poor defense if done right. Maybe I'm wrong, but my 2 cents anyway.

So it looks like the over was the bet here? What's the score and how much time left?
-
Nice, couple first downs and it should be over.
-
How much time Wilbur?

Is this game a final yet? Montana just lost to App State by 8, pass intercepted in the end zone to end it. Played pretty well except for about 5 minutes when they had 2 TO's lead to TD's for AS.

If the mess in Missoula isn't a red flag for NDSU to get in front of this issue I don't know what is, the best thing they could do is suspend these guys for a few games, by the time they come back it should be sorted out enough to know whether further action is appropriate. Much more frequently schools are being held accountable for looking the other way on athlete-related offenses, if the school doesn't make a move quickly they acquire a certain stench in the public eye. The advantage NDSU has in this deal is they are good enough right now to win games without them, at least for a few games.
-
The way they've been bragging up Sorensen I expected them to make a game of it, apparently their other offensive weapons need some work.

Griz mistakes kept USD in the game...botched a punt return which led to a TD, freshman QB threw a pick which was returned for a TD (although through the receivers hands), and the young secondary blew a coverage and a guy got behind them for a long TD. The question marks coming in were the rookie QB and the suspect DB's, and though they made a few mistakes they played pretty well, I think USD only had 9 first downs and UM had about 600 yards of offense. Appy State will be a good indication of where they're at, I expect a lot of points on the board from both sides.

Geographically Sac. St., SUU, NAU, and maybe PSU or ISU would be a good fit and would leave the Montana/EWU/UND/UNC region pretty intact, I'd hate to see those 5 break apart.

Sacrificing character for talent works out about 1 of every 10 times, there's a reason these "great talents" haven't been signed by the teams their talent suggests they should, they are smart enough to know that there is a 90% chance that they will either fall back into their old ways or come up with some new lawbreaking activity. And there's a good chance they will either drag down other teammates with them or worse yet do something that will bring the University under scrutiny. And it doesn't get better in the NFL (Pacman Jones, Albert Haynesworth, TO, Moss, etc...). Staying away from these kind of guys is always the right move, for every guy like Frattin who saw the light when they got cut loose there are 10 who will never "get it" and change. That is all, back to football.
-
Oh I don't know, they throw dead gophers and badgers pretty well.
-
I think people are giving Cal Poly too much credit just because they don't have to play UM or MSU. They lost most of their starters, especially on the defensive side, and that will not be easy in the BSC regardless of who they have to play. I'd be surprised if they finish in the top 4 or 5 even with their easy schedule.

And he's worn out his welcome on most of them, guy needs to get a life. Getting back on topic, I was just thinking how "Big Sky/WAC Merger" would have been viewed a few years ago, I would have pointed and laughed like everybody else...all of a sudden it's not so farfetched.
-
Apparently they have been given a committment for X amount of tickets for each home game for these tent rentals, where these seats will be located is anyones guess.

Did the license plate say "LAKSBSN"?
-
NDSU should be irrelevant at this point, I'd be more concerned with the business at hand and that's working towards landing a playoff berth in the near future, UND has enough on its plate right now without worrying about what the Johnsons next door are doing.
