Any predictions out there? I'll start it off with Pittsburgh over St. Louis, even though I would rather Pittsburgh lost in the first round. Sounds like Toews should be back for their first round series, also sounds like Kreider being on the playoff roster is 50/50. Getting jacked up for some playoff hockey!

Good thing is the one game that UND does have is against the Griz which should be a packed house with both fanbases well represented.

You had Miller instead of Sutton in your first post that's what threw us off.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what it was called so I went directly to the NCAA website and it linked me there as their official merchandise store. I didn't think to look for Alcorn, maybe you're right and they aren't selling anything from sanctioned schools. That would suck for lack of a better word. If that's the case, it would be a sobering moment to the people who think they will magicly reopen the settlement agreement or dull their stance on the sanctions over time.

That probably explains the listing but why would they eliminate the stuff that simply says UND or North Dakota on it? It's legal according to them so it seems like they would be agreeable to selling it, and there was many items that were just labeled as such. Seems sketchy to me.

Out of curiousity I went to the NCAA website and directed to their official merchandise outlet ShopNCAASports to see how much UND stuff they had listed. Last time I looked which was quite a while ago they had quite a bit of stuff, about 80 items I think, none of it saying Sioux or with the Native American head on it. Now they have...wait for it...0. None. Nil. In fact we aren't even listed as a school, but Bemidji and MInn. State are. NDSU, in contrast, has 278 items listed. I don't know if we are now blackballed from selling any merch on the NCAA website or if they pulled everything and are going to revamp it, but it is a little disturbing to look at.

I'm not sure what you think I'm "copping out" about, I'm just stating facts about why BC has produced so many championship caliber teams the last 10 years or so. 1) They have a very good coach who knows what kind of team it takes to win and builds his team as such. 2) They have a large, heavily populated recruiting area.If you're a good hockey player living in Maine, NY, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, Pennsylvania, or anywhere else in the NE US and you see 'Boston College' on your caller I.D., you're going to pick up the phone and listen to what they say...guaranteed. Look at their roster this year...1 from Colorado, 1 from Minnesota, and 3 from British Columbia...everybody else from the NE. They own it. 3) They're winning. Nothing helps recruiting more than winning, and for the last 11 years they've done it better than anybody. Like them or not (I say not) they have a good situation and know what they're doing, and it's probably not going to change much until York hangs it up or posts a couple of subpar seasons, which I would welcome like a lottery check.

For those who saw it, was the 3rd BC goal awesome or what? Kid fought off 2 guys from the blue line in and got off a shot to beat the goalie high. BC or not, that was a hell of an effort.

And then the average Joe will step into the booth and see something like..."For not rescinding the approved law reinstating the previously retired name and logo currently in use"...and will go "Uh, what?"

When you have the best program and the best coach in the whole eastern US where the population is, you can attract and cherry-pick pretty much whoever you want. You have to take your hat off to York, he has it figured out.

Probably won't find out about Kristo until summer because of his situation, but the longer he doesn't say "I'm staying" the less chance he does is how it looks to me.

And I think I heard somewhere that we might have some injured guys coming back too. That could help.

I think this is going to be as wide-open as any playoffs recently, I'm not sold on the Rangers at all and I think you could make a case for 5 teams in each conference. Another year of dozing off on the couch trying to stay awake for west coast games.

I was thinking last night that college hockey as a whole was down this year, once you get past BC the level really seems to drop off. Usually you have a half-dozen teams who you feel could legitimately win it all, this year it didn't seem like anybody was head and shoulders above the rest...until BC got cranked up late in the year. I think the Minnesota game last night pretty much drove that home. Looking at our situation this year being one game from making the Frozen Four is a good indicator, most years we would have been very longshots to make the tournament with all the problems the team had to endure, but this year we had a chance to actually make a decent run. I think all 4 of last years FF teams could have gave BC a run, this year I think they walk to the title.

Well I'll be cheering for Ferris Saturday but I don't like their chances, BC would really have to mail it in to lose.

The only thing left for BC is not getting drawn into any antics the rest of the game, I wouldn't put it past the Gophers to start a bunch of crap for the umpteenth time this year.

This team is impressive. And the chippiness begins.

BC looks great, jumps on every mistake. Ferris has no chance unless BC mails one in.
