I think any university who speaks out now is actually doing UND a favor, the more SDSUs that make their negative stance known before the vote the easier it's going to be to make people understand the ramifications. The worst thing that could happen is nobody speaks up and the day after the vote 15 schools have press releases saying they won't play us. That would be a killer. SDSU did us a favor making their position known, as strange as that sounds. EDIT: Not implying they did us a favor by not playing us, just letting us know where they stand.

I'd like to know who woke the Kings up for the playoffs, I wasn't really that surprised they beat the Vancouver Figure Skaters but they have been putting the wood to St. Louis on the road and they had one of the best home records this year...not looking good for that Oshie/Parise-Zajac final.

I was thinking the same thing, Pattyn was a big part of the team down the stretch when they had nobody on the bench and needed somebody to provide a spark, it would be hard to imagine that Hak wasn't impressed enough with his play to find a spot for him.

As this issue has shown, sometimes things that are obvious escape certain people.

I wonder what will happen with sports like track and swimming and such where many schools compete at once, obviously we wouldn't be invited if the host school has a policy against us but what happens if one or more of the other schools have a policy? Will we be blackballed from those meets also, or will it be up to those schools whether they attend or not? I would guess the odds would not be in our favor, but that's pure speculation.

And the scary part is nobody knows how many more Minnesotas, Wisconsins, Iowas, and SDSUs are sitting on the sidelines waiting for all avenues of nickname retirement to close so they are forced to implement what they have already decided...no play if the nickname stays. Of course the nickname or bust crowd will say there will be none or just a few, I've got a feeling there will be plenty. And if the Big Sky schools are among them...

Yeah, stupid UND alumni and athletes...who are they to speak for the well-being of the school?

I wonder how many different investigations are currently going on, there's a lot of factions involved looking at different incidents and the people involved and how or if they were reported...but it's all pretty confidential right now so nobody knows anything. What a mess. A good lesson for other schools: If you don't get in front of something be prepared to drag it behind you to the Gates of Hell.

Not trying to start any trouble, but I'll pull on my Griz jersey for a minute and say realistically the biggest problem UND is going to have is stopping the better Big Sky teams, unless the secondary is infinitely better than when I saw them last year Montana, Montana State, EWU, and probably NAU will torch them through the air, unlike some FCS conferences the BSC has no qualms about throwing the ball around even if the run is working. So even if Hansen does come in and perform well it will be up to the defense to keep them in games because I don't think it would be realistic to expect UND to be able to outscore some of these teams with their offensive production even if Hansen exceeds expectations. That's my honest opinion, now back to Sioux mode.
