  1. I trust this post is facetious; tell me you don't really want this information. If someone working first-person with the AD would indeed air their dirty laundry on a fan site for UND athletics, there is a bigger problem in that office than what's being divulged in this thread. Right or wrong, I feel the lay-person with the second hand information can freely post "what they heard," as it incriminates no one. If we start having named officials throwing out specific examples of office trouble, we would truly be the laughing stock of college athletics.
  2. Can you imagine the outcry from the public if they would have dropped it? Hell... KNOX & KFGO had lines lit up for weeks on the issue. It really went nuts after the "non-suspension" from Hak. To avoid public scrutiny, and a tarnished "we are afraid of UND Hockey" image, they couldn't drop the case. (no matter how stupid it was)
  3. Cumulative Thread Info To This Point 1) Members that have proven through previous posts to be reliable and factual, have revealed information that suggests serious tension exists between various members of the coaching staff, and the Athletic Director. Out of respect for their sources, they choose not to disclose details. 2) Those same reliable posters have serious post count envy. Let it go... jeez. 3) Without the requested details, many have disregarded said tension as unproven and rumor. Others seem uncomfortable that the topic is on the board at all. (Which leads me to believe that there is indeed some substance to item 1) 4) Diggler's posts are worthless.
  4. Me too.
  5. Walrus... thank you for sharing your info with us, I certainly appreciate it. But please tell me this: Is it a done deal? (in your opinion of course) Nothing would deflate the last NCC football season like losing Dale. I'm a Sioux fan, yes... but that would just leave a sour taste for the whole season.

    Gas Prices

I agree with that... without the gas tax (and the proper clout in DC), North Dakota residents would be driving on some terrible roadways. As far as the government being a representation of the people... I think we've hit the point of "in theory only."
  7. Hold on there, Ray... I'm not saying they're right, I'm just saying what I guess they're saying if they're saying anything negative. (Oddly enough, what I've just said makes sense. Give it time)
  8. Some have speculated that he returned from the initial injury prematurely... you can figure out the rest.
  9. I would guess the shoulder injury, and re-injury (and re-injury? can't remember) might instigate some negative comments from the Murray family.
  10. I use a Mission skate because it has an actual hockey boot. I think most "hockey manufacturers" incorperate a hockey boot where the more recreational oriented companies do not. Since my ice skates use essentially the same boot, it was an easy transition from the ice to the wheels. The bearings are rated on an ABEC scale. Basically, the higher the number, the tighter the tolerance and better quality of bearing. (yes, the price goes up with the number) My current skates have an ABEC 7 rated bearing, although I don't think I can tell the difference between them and my old skates. (ABEC 3) Maybe the longevity factor will come into play... who knows. Oh yeah... the hockey-based skates generally don't come with the heel brake.
  11. The header says it came from Tim Rosenthal/CHN Reporter... are you thinking of this?
  12. They will build despite the tie vote. There has been WAAAAAYYYYYY too much planning already done on this project to let it hinge on a tax abatement vote. If they were planning on breaking ground next month, I would gather all they need is some signed contracts from the (already on board) construction team. They have the support of the community... they'll build it.
  13. Regarding the suggestions on talking to high school kids... High school athletes are going to see JT, a kid only a year or two older than them, fresh off a second offense, coming out of a highly publicized situation without a scratch. No missed games, no problems. There is no way in hell this will persuade young student athletes to stay away from alcohol... especially if they're already drinking.
  14. Cheerleaders don't bother me a bit. Even though I'm not the biggest cheerleader supporter, to get rid of them would be wrong, IMO.
  15. On the same lines, the waiting list for season tickets has moved a lot in the last couple of years... while it was seemingly immobile the first few. That means a lot of frustrated (if not tapped out) season ticket holders. Speaking of tapped out... renewals are due in 2 weeks. (anyone got 3 grand I can "borrow?")
  16. As a self-described "critical fan" I agree that things seem to be getting taken a bit far. Even by my demented standards. (although I will defend my stance that you don't need to constantly blow sunshine up the players' arses to be considered a "true fan.") Good post, siouxnami; and good timing. vaht?
  17. 3) UND 2) Michigan 1) BC
  18. Hak?... can you picture Eades?
  19. Classic, mikejm.
  20. That would indeed be insane... Tommy likey!

    Toews Watch

I disagree with that, I guess. We won't stop getting tier one talent... the Sioux hockey program will ensure that. If that tier one talent develops as a team and wins championships, the program is in an even better condition.
