  1. They will build despite the tie vote. There has been WAAAAAYYYYYY too much planning already done on this project to let it hinge on a tax abatement vote. If they were planning on breaking ground next month, I would gather all they need is some signed contracts from the (already on board) construction team. They have the support of the community... they'll build it.
  2. Regarding the suggestions on talking to high school kids... High school athletes are going to see JT, a kid only a year or two older than them, fresh off a second offense, coming out of a highly publicized situation without a scratch. No missed games, no problems. There is no way in hell this will persuade young student athletes to stay away from alcohol... especially if they're already drinking.
  3. Cheerleaders don't bother me a bit. Even though I'm not the biggest cheerleader supporter, to get rid of them would be wrong, IMO.
  4. On the same lines, the waiting list for season tickets has moved a lot in the last couple of years... while it was seemingly immobile the first few. That means a lot of frustrated (if not tapped out) season ticket holders. Speaking of tapped out... renewals are due in 2 weeks. (anyone got 3 grand I can "borrow?")
  5. As a self-described "critical fan" I agree that things seem to be getting taken a bit far. Even by my demented standards. (although I will defend my stance that you don't need to constantly blow sunshine up the players' arses to be considered a "true fan.") Good post, siouxnami; and good timing. vaht?
  6. 3) UND 2) Michigan 1) BC
  7. Hak?... can you picture Eades?
  8. Classic, mikejm.
  9. That would indeed be insane... Tommy likey!

I disagree with that, I guess. We won't stop getting tier one talent... the Sioux hockey program will ensure that. If that tier one talent develops as a team and wins championships, the program is in an even better condition.
  11. My thoughts on the St. Louis trip with my wife and kids. If you don
  12. Great, sad, troubling, exciting read. Thanks for sharing.
  13. My favorite line was Stafford, Parise, and Bochenski.
  14. Actually, I think they wore green both nights in St. Cloud. (I shouldn't care enough to know)
  15. I didn't think we had lost a game in the blacks... (at least the Nike Swift blacks)
  16. For all the negative feedback on the appearance, I guess I disagree. I think they look good. What I don't like about the appearance is how the colors and crest are the only things unique about them. All of the other swift jerseys have the same stripes, number types, etc... no real originality in that regard. According to Hennessey, they look a little ragged too... maybe they don't stand up well? Who knows. As far as wearing the black jerseys on Thursday: My daughter will be wearing an old childrens jersey with a faded geometric logo on it... the same one she wore at SCSU, at home vs. Mankato, and while watching the west regional. At this time of the season, you don't take stupid chances.
  17. Nice.
  18. Game 1 April 5 at 3 p.m. Michigan State vs. Maine Game 2 April 5 at 7 p.m. Boston College vs. North Dakota Game 3 April 7 at 6 p.m. Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 *Missouri is in the central time zone. Scottrade Center
  19. Here's real... You are the best player on your team. You are in the West regional with a team that beat you last season in the first game. Your team is behind, and need your help badly... you are the best scoring threat available. ...but you had to shoot your big f'ing mouth off to the ref and he gave you 10 minutes of solitary, pretty much screwing your team out of any chance of a comeback. Hobey criteria 1 through 3= D
  20. By the same token, I won't know until the end of the week whether I get them or not (FSC). Shuffelling work schedules, travel plans, etc is going to get tight... All worth it, though, to get to St. Louis!
  21. That would please me very much. I'm getting all giggly just thinking about it.
  22. C'mon now NDH... tell us how you really feel.
  23. The first in the list of criteria, so it must be pretty important to the committee. This kid's got his head screwed on straight, and works as hard or harder than anyone on the team. His character is the greatest of his many assets. Duncan's grade= A+ Leading the league in scoring isn't bad. Neither is "near the top" in the nation. Duncan's grade= A All academic team, and perhaps one of the most humble athletes to wear the Sioux sweater. Duncan's grade= A+ Check, check, and check plus, completing much more than 50% of the season. (100% of TWO seasons, btw) Duncan's Grade= A+ Say what you will about Hensick etal, but if Duncan doesn't get this award, he (like Panzer) will be robbed. Based on the above criteria, there is not a more deserving player in the NCAA than Ryan Duncan.
  24. Along with everyone else, it seems. This is the time of year when the smart play is to not speak your mind on the board. Too many trolls and bait takers, and you might get trampled by the frequent stampede of high horses. Hey PCM... let's have a few beers and let this week blow over.
