  1. I can see both sides of this issue. First, my dad has been involved in 5 auto accidents in his life, and this was in the 70's, when seat belts weren't a priority, and in 4 of those 5 accidents, had he been wearing a seat belt, he wouldn't be alive today. He would've been killed as a result of the accident. On the other side of this issue, about 4 years ago, my husband was in an accident, and had a head injury, and some sore ribs because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. He's fine, and didn't have anything too serious happen to him, but it definitey wouldn't have been as bad if he was wearing a seat belt. Also, just over 3 years ago, I was in an accident, doing only about 20 mph, and I was wearing my seatbelt. I was a little sore, but other than that, there was nothing more serious, other than they totalled my car. I'm still a little pi$$ed about that one. I agree seat belts do save lives, but I can also see the point about not wearing one either. I think it should be up to the individual whether they choose to use one or not.
  2. We were in the cities this past weekend, and while the gas prices here were at around $3.09/gal., gas stations in the cities were running anywhere between $2.83 and $2.88/gal. Further proof that we are being price gouged in this town! I know the stations came down to what is now $2.99/gal., that's still more then we paid anywhere in the cities. Some staions were 2.91 to 2.95/gal., and that's still less than what we're paying now! I'm really getting tired of being gouged. I'd much rather have the money in my pocket to spend on other things, but I guess they don't see that in this town. Ouch! Why can't gas be cheaper?
  3. You are definitely right about that LeftyZL. The small towns around here used to always be at least a nickel to a dime more than GF, but last weekend (Memorial Day wknd., of course) they were at least 15 cents cheaper than the cheapest price here. The twin cities also tends to be cheaper than here as well. Gas has also been above the national average most of the time lately. I've been watching the price for the national average, and the last I had seen, it was just under $3.00/gallon, yet we are 20 cents more then that. Unreal!!
  4. Why is gas so expensive here? We went to northern MN over the holiday weekend, and the small towns like McIntosh, Erskine, and some others were selling gas for $3.14/gal. GF was anywhere between $3.29 to 3.34/gal. depending on where you went. The thing now is, even though the holiday weekend is over, gas still hasn't gone down like it should be. I'm really getting tired of the price gouging in this town, and yes, it is price gouging!!
  5. Where are people gathering in the GF area to watch the game? Is the Moon one of the places? Others?
  6. Comgrats to the gophers on a great game. i don't always complain about the refs, but sometimes i can't help myself. some of the calls, or non-calls, really irk me.
  7. Does anybody know if there's a news conference on for the Sioux after the game in GF? if there is, where can i watch it?
  8. What happened? Woog has never done this in the past that i can remember with his generuos comments on the Sioux!
  9. Did Wooger even see the ot? He stated the gophers dominated the first 2 to 3 minutes of ot, then the Sioux took over. i thought the Sioux completely dominated the ot!
  10. They just showed we play at 8 eastern thursday night, april 5th.
  11. OT. we need to score, and score early to deflate the gophers, and head to the FF!
  12. the refs are going to determine the outcome of this game yet.
  13. what a BS penalty! they both went down! Is shephard reffing the game? Can you check your DVR for me since i don't have one?
