  1. I would guess the shoulder injury, and re-injury (and re-injury? can't remember) might instigate some negative comments from the Murray family.
  2. I use a Mission skate because it has an actual hockey boot. I think most "hockey manufacturers" incorperate a hockey boot where the more recreational oriented companies do not. Since my ice skates use essentially the same boot, it was an easy transition from the ice to the wheels. The bearings are rated on an ABEC scale. Basically, the higher the number, the tighter the tolerance and better quality of bearing. (yes, the price goes up with the number) My current skates have an ABEC 7 rated bearing, although I don't think I can tell the difference between them and my old skates. (ABEC 3) Maybe the longevity factor will come into play... who knows. Oh yeah... the hockey-based skates generally don't come with the heel brake.
  3. The header says it came from Tim Rosenthal/CHN Reporter... are you thinking of this?
  4. They will build despite the tie vote. There has been WAAAAAYYYYYY too much planning already done on this project to let it hinge on a tax abatement vote. If they were planning on breaking ground next month, I would gather all they need is some signed contracts from the (already on board) construction team. They have the support of the community... they'll build it.
  5. Regarding the suggestions on talking to high school kids... High school athletes are going to see JT, a kid only a year or two older than them, fresh off a second offense, coming out of a highly publicized situation without a scratch. No missed games, no problems. There is no way in hell this will persuade young student athletes to stay away from alcohol... especially if they're already drinking.
  6. Cheerleaders don't bother me a bit. Even though I'm not the biggest cheerleader supporter, to get rid of them would be wrong, IMO.
  7. On the same lines, the waiting list for season tickets has moved a lot in the last couple of years... while it was seemingly immobile the first few. That means a lot of frustrated (if not tapped out) season ticket holders. Speaking of tapped out... renewals are due in 2 weeks. (anyone got 3 grand I can "borrow?")
  8. As a self-described "critical fan" I agree that things seem to be getting taken a bit far. Even by my demented standards. (although I will defend my stance that you don't need to constantly blow sunshine up the players' arses to be considered a "true fan.") Good post, siouxnami; and good timing. vaht?
  9. 3) UND 2) Michigan 1) BC
  10. Hak?... can you picture Eades?
  11. Classic, mikejm.
  12. That would indeed be insane... Tommy likey!

I disagree with that, I guess. We won't stop getting tier one talent... the Sioux hockey program will ensure that. If that tier one talent develops as a team and wins championships, the program is in an even better condition.
  14. My thoughts on the St. Louis trip with my wife and kids. If you don
  15. Great, sad, troubling, exciting read. Thanks for sharing.
  16. My favorite line was Stafford, Parise, and Bochenski.
  17. Actually, I think they wore green both nights in St. Cloud. (I shouldn't care enough to know)
  18. I didn't think we had lost a game in the blacks... (at least the Nike Swift blacks)
  19. For all the negative feedback on the appearance, I guess I disagree. I think they look good. What I don't like about the appearance is how the colors and crest are the only things unique about them. All of the other swift jerseys have the same stripes, number types, etc... no real originality in that regard. According to Hennessey, they look a little ragged too... maybe they don't stand up well? Who knows. As far as wearing the black jerseys on Thursday: My daughter will be wearing an old childrens jersey with a faded geometric logo on it... the same one she wore at SCSU, at home vs. Mankato, and while watching the west regional. At this time of the season, you don't take stupid chances.
  20. Nice.
  21. Game 1 April 5 at 3 p.m. Michigan State vs. Maine Game 2 April 5 at 7 p.m. Boston College vs. North Dakota Game 3 April 7 at 6 p.m. Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 *Missouri is in the central time zone. Scottrade Center
  22. Here's real... You are the best player on your team. You are in the West regional with a team that beat you last season in the first game. Your team is behind, and need your help badly... you are the best scoring threat available. ...but you had to shoot your big f'ing mouth off to the ref and he gave you 10 minutes of solitary, pretty much screwing your team out of any chance of a comeback. Hobey criteria 1 through 3= D
  23. By the same token, I won't know until the end of the week whether I get them or not (FSC). Shuffelling work schedules, travel plans, etc is going to get tight... All worth it, though, to get to St. Louis!
  24. That would please me very much. I'm getting all giggly just thinking about it.
