  1. I have a relative who went to Portland State Univ, who's men's BB team won the Big Sky tourneament and are going to the NCAA tournament. I checked their schedule out and they played Seattle twice, once at the Great Alaskan Shootout and another game at home on Dec 6. At the Shootout they beat Seattle by about 14 pts, but on Dec 6 they won by only 5, 63-58. This is the same Seattle team that we beat once and were not embarassed in the other two games. DG
  2. He does have one point well taken. For the past three years, really since we moved into the Ralph, the Sioux have had absolutely miserable 1st halfs of every season. We have to learn to take control of our own destiny in our own building! Okay, so we completely outplayed CC in the 1st period Sat night and came out behind. So what, continue to apply pressure. It looked to me that the team quit halfway throuogh the 2nd period. Their passing was not crisp, they had no jump etc. This is not a bunch of rookies, this is a veteran team that should play tough through the entire game. It has been embarrasing in the past to get out worked and out hustled in our own arena, I was hoping with this team that would end.
  3. "NDSU dominated the Gophers for the second year in a row." What have you been smoking. They lost last year and had to depend on a blocked punt to eke out a 27-21 win. When I say dominate I mean on the scoreboard. A 35-7 bison win would have impressed me, the 27-21 win, not so much. DG
  4. Let's face it, the bison barely beat a bottom feeder of the Big Ten. This may be the worst Gopher football team of all time and will be lucky to finish out of last place. So if the Gophs are a horrible football team and the bison have to hang on to barely pull out a win what does it make them. Now if ndsu had dominated Saturday's game I might pay attention to their delusional outbursts! DG
  5. By mistake, I posted this on the hockey site. I'm bad. A friend of mine asked me if I knew what happened to kicker Cameron Paterka. I did not so I will ask you guys, where is Cameron and is he still in football? This time my question is on the right site! DG
  6. Proof means having 1st hand knowledge that you have observed yourself and not heresay evidence from someone who may have their own agenda that your not aware of. I would love to hear from pcm on this matter. DG
  7. Several threads have mentioned the "Buning Problem". Because I have no clue as to what they mean, someone please explain! DG
  8. One of the crucial elements that led to the Sioux loss last Thursday night was the inability to control face offs like we did against Michigan and Minnesota in the regionals. A not so slubtle part of the face off battle was that the linesman consistantly threw Toews and VandeVelde, two of the best face off men in the country, out of the draw. Whether intentional or not, it was a very subtle way to tip the scales in BC's favor. We were consistantly back on our heels on defense because of this and in fact one of them resulted in a 3 on 2 odd man rush for BC and a goal. DG
  9. The Black's because they win in them and the black and green look great together. But I will add that I truely miss the kelly green helmets and breezers with the white home sweaters. More than a few teams have black helmets but the but the Sioux green helmet really stood out with the home whites. DG
  10. I've lost track of Brady Murray's progress. Can anyone update us on where he is and how he is doing? DG
  11. Let's not forget that in the fall of '74 Jerry Olson took his Sioux team into Memorial Stadium to play the Gophers and early on the Sioux held a 10-0 lead. Midway through the 3rd quarter Minn led 28-24 and eventually beat the Sioux 42-30. That Gopher team was led by Tony Dungy and Rick Upchurch. UND had Brian Grover at QB and Bill Deutch and Dale Kasowski as running backs. We were completely one dementional as Grover was a converted tail back and could not throw a lick. DG
  12. Judging from the entire thread it looks like it's Game On! I don't care if NCAA regs punish a team for playing out of it's division, fan's vote with their feet. A Sioux/Bison football game would fill either venue, an NCAA playoff game would not. By the way are the Bison even elegable for the post season this coming year? I thought it was 2008.
  13. Thanks PCM, great job. I've noticed that even though SS covers basketball, his questions of DH indicate he's pretty knowledgable about Sioux hockey. DG
