I will be absolutely stunned if Spirit, Pride, and Sundogs aren't the three finalists.

So NDSU/Gopher fans chanting "Sioux suck" or "f*** the Sioux" means that the nickname must go but nobody on the committee can envision a single fan in the opposing student section yelling anything vulgar about "Pride" and being gay. What kind of Utopia do these committee members live in anyways?

Hot rumor out of Chicago is that the Blackhawks are flying in "superfan" siouxweet for game 6 in appreciation of all of his "support" of the team this year on SiouxSports.com.

I get the feeling that committee members were interviewed beforehand and quizzed on their open-mindedness and abstract vision regarding this process...Karl was a Trojan horse put on there to appease the loud hockey voices.

My problem with Roughriders or RoughRiders or Rough Riders is the same problem I have with "hawk" names. Miami is the Redhawks but UMass-Lowell is the River Hawks (two words). It's very confusing... Plus there's the branding issue of Rough Riders and Lady Roughriders. It's the reason Syracuse went from "Orangemen" and "Orangewomen" to simply "Orange."

Two more teams would further dilute talent in the league. I miss the days of teams having not one or two but several players that fans could easily label stars. Continued expansion would water that down even more. Florida is an obvious choice for an eastern team to move west. I can't think of another franchise in such dire straits so that leaves room for one expansion team as well. Make it happen, NHL. Let's see the Seattle Thunderbirds (formerly the Coyotes) and the Kansas City Scouts (formerly the Panthers) along with the expansion Portland Timbers in 2015-2016.

Not that I like to toot my own horn, but "sportspersonship" as opposed to "sportsmanship" made me crack myself up.

I guess that makes sense...maybe I should check out a map once in a while. It would still be nice to see some other cities in the west with teams - Kansas City and Seattle would be my choices.

It's already travesty enough that Nashville is in the west. NASHVILLE! Ridiculous.

The west is already short two teams compared to the east. No way the Coyotes move to the east (Hamilton, ON) and make an even bigger mess.
