The idea that every NCHC team would go undefeated and make the NCAA tournament was always preposterous. There became “have’s” and “have not’s,” just like any other conference. While the move to the NCHC seemed like a good idea at the time, clearly it’s been a disaster for Miami.

So it’s just plain luck that DU beat SCSU in the Frozen Faceoff semifinal in OT, UMass in the regional semifinal in 2OT, and BU in the Frozen Four semifinal in OT while Hak is just cursed with bad luck and it was good that he left? But yet, there are plenty of Berry defenders blaming Covid, a game-delay against BU for a review, and UMD not having to play Michigan and getting some rest and parading these out as VALID excuses. Seems like something is ALWAYS getting in the way of an NCAA tournament win these days — or even a tournament appearance in 3 cases. But excuses are OK now ‘cuz 2016.

That’s a slap at Davis for sure. UND’s mostly-weak shots on goal against Michigan in 2011 paled in comparison to some of the BC attempts on Saturday evening.
