This post shows you how much things have changed since 2016. What else has changed since that year?

Uh…that uh…little “situation” we discussed about @jimdahl? Yea…it’s uh…been taken care of.

As soon as I get done planning the parade route, I’ll move on to commemorative items such as pucks, t-shirts, and ball caps.

Objection. Speculation. So it’s just plain luck that DU beat SCSU in the Frozen Faceoff semifinal in OT, UMass in the regional semifinal in 2OT, and BU in the Frozen Four semifinal in OT while Hak is just cursed with bad luck and it was good that he left? But yet, there are plenty of Berry defenders blaming Covid, a game-delay against BU for a review, and UMD not having to play Michigan and getting some rest and parading these out as VALID excuses. Seems like something is ALWAYS getting in the way of an NCAA tournament win these days — or even a tournament appearance in 3 cases. But excuses are OK now ‘cuz 2016.

Wow, wow, wow! First and foremost, I’d like to thank God for the opportunity to make this happen. WOW, so many people to thank…my brain, probably, for finally going against what my heart told me to do in picking UND to win every previous year. My boys, couldn’t have done this without their support too. @jimdahl, for running such a great message board and contest every year. @Blackheart, @Goon, @NorthDakotaHockey, @Oxbow6, and all the fans I’ve met over the years. Oh, @Wilbur, wouldn’t even be here without your support too. My mom, hope she’s watching back home in Fairfield. The Denver Pioneers for making it all happen. I believed in you even during that tough opening matchup against UMass! Couldn’t have done it without you guys! My cat, ESPN, I could go on and on…

That’s a slap at Davis for sure. UND’s mostly-weak shots on goal against Michigan in 2011 paled in comparison to some of the BC attempts on Saturday evening.

Has the winner been officially announced yet? Asking for a friend…

I picked one year off if memory. Michigan State in 2007 is another good example. I don’t think there’s any more “parity” now than there was 20 years ago. Hell, Holy Cross happened way back in 2006 now…

I need to correct an error in regards to UND since 2016. The team is 1-4 in NCAA Regional Tournament games since then, not 1-5. 2017: loss to BU 2021: win vs AIC, loss to UMD 2022: loss to Notre Dame 2024: loss to Michigan

Oh please. Not a single program recruited Shayne Gostisbehere and he stuck with Union because they were the first one to make him an offer. I’m also old enough to remember a no-name Harvard team beating Minnesota’s Pride on Ice in St. Paul in 1989 so spare me talk of revisionist history of the Hakstol era being exaggerated to “parity” today. Hak had his teams firing on all cylinders come tournament time while Berry’s squads are always out of gas. And that’s not an anomaly now, it’s a full-blown pattern with Berry.

Clearly more hot tubs and pool tables are needed.

BINGO. It’s only seemingly occurred since the 2016-2017 season. Well, technically 2018-2019 because UND missed the tournament the two years prior to that. I just can’t put my finger on what the link is…

And this parity you speak of…only started in the fall of 2016?

At least Hakstol saved gut-wrenching losses for the Frozen Four. Berry evidently likes to get them out of the way far earlier than that.
