I have 74% as well. But this is my first connection to the feed this year. Is this signal better than what people were getting for other football games? ie is part of the equation that the Sioux games are coming from Alaska, or did the FSSN uplink just improve overall giving us the chance to actually get the hockey game in a couple of hours?
-
I have a black and white feed at 12052 v 13350. Is that the same thing basically or do the numbers have to be the same exactly? I also have a northern Illinois vs temple game at 11950 H 13230 And western Michigan vs ball state at 11968 H 13230.

I'm wanting to make sure my dish is pointed at the correct satellite (91w). Can someone tell me a channel or channels they currenttly have on 91w?
-
PSB, Could it be that those of us having trouble are just a bit over or under the arch and this transponder is just a little more touchy than others? I ask because im tempted to go out to my dish and just give it a little tilt up and down when tuned to this transponder. Right now im getting zero on 12065 4870. 10% = nothing
-
yas it says im on galaxy 11 91w Im showing two FSSN channels from my autoscan. One should be from last year but niether is 12065. one is 12187 and the other is 12024 and each of these are showing no signal. I''ll go enter the 12065 4870 manually and see what i get but im guessing if my auto scan doesn't get it I'm having the same signal problem as others, I am in Denver... also does your channel guide say FSSN or just occasional???
-
it is still on 91w correct? I'm not even seeing a tp scan choice for 12065??
-
hehehehe.. guess who found it. Good call hey is there anything on for an auto scan yet?
-
Ok I have two hours to tip my house upside down while at the same time continually telling myself that I love my children . If I fail I will be in touch. Thanks as always PSB.

a direct tv remote doesnt have traxis in its bank huh?

I have a situation -->> MAYDAY MAYDAY! I cannot find my remote control to my traxis receiver anywhere and I have not set up my dish (Auto-scanned) for the new position this year. My dish is still on 91W and I am getting some feeds but I have no way that I know of to do an auto scan when the game comes on to identify the new channel for FSSN. The old channel (last years FSSN) is programmed on in my receiver but I'm sure that won't do me any good. Is there anyway to control the traxis other than the remote. or is there a way to use another remote like my direct tv programmable remote to work on the traxis?
-
what time does the game start today? my directv guide has the game starting at 6 pm? the front page of the sioux sports page has it starting at 5 pm?

For anyone thinking about maybe attending the UNO series in Omaha this November. If you have never spent time in Omaha before and wondering if there is anything else to do for the weekend (besides river boat gambling:) ) here is something that might drive some more Sioux fans to take the trip: The Omaha Zoo is a "top notch" Zoo. From my perspective, and I have been to the zoo in MSP, Kansas City, Denver, Oak Brook (Illinois), and Washington DC, I think the Omaha Zoo is right at the top of the list. I guess you could say I was impressed. My favorite thing was the sky ride (chair lift style ride). On this you get such a unique vantage point to see the animals right below you with no fence between you and them. At one point my feet were probably 10 feet above a heard of giraffes. very cool! So go to Omaha I say!

I knew that..lol Not sure where i got st. johns into my head from?

How did Mattson look? Does anyone know what is going on with his game. He was so well thought of at Holy Angels then he disappeared as he surprisingly went undrafted in 09 and then again last year as well..

Where can we get Sioux Jerseys after next year?
yababy8 replied to BobIwabuchiFan's topic in Community
I'm wondering, when our day of reckoning comes next June where we all become painfully aware that the idea of our Society being some sort of democracy is nothing beyond a child's brain fodder, what will SIOUXsports.com become??? -
I too will be traveling from Colo ( Westminster) to Omaha for that series. Going to tie it into the family trip to Kansas City for Thanksgiving with the wifes side.. I think of all of the away games of 'special' significance for the Sioux this year- BSU, the new DDEC opening, and our introduction in Omaha- the Omaha series is the one I'm hoping will be full of Sioux fans as they know the least about our gig and what we are all about as fans. So let's introduce ourselves right, everyone should plan on heading there!! There will be plenty of seats as the arena they play in is huge!

How has the Name Debacle affected alumni donations?
yababy8 replied to BobIwabuchiFan's topic in UND Nickname
Hopefully Notre Dame and the Vikings heed your warning here and get on relations with Ireland and Norway ASAP! ...It's amazing how the most illogical can become unnoticed and the most ridicules can be accepted after a little bit of brain wash is inserted into the picture. Just to point it out for those of you that are more susceptible to brain wash, consider this question; What individual person or persons should be declared as the one who can speak for the entire societal lineage of a particular society itself? What if I wanted to call my team the Fighting Americans in honor of the people who have fought and died for this country? Then who would be the one or many that would give me allowance and method approval for how I choose to do this? We have to agree that it would not be the very people to whom I am directing my chosen honor, why? Because my fellow idiots, they are all dead! Now I guess you could say, 'hey why not let their families give allowance and method approval for any requested nickname honor. That doesn't sound very feasible does it? Are we going to have a vote? Maybe the people who died for this country would disagree with their great great grandchildren's view on the matter? Of course an alternative that might be considered could be to create a social dogma that declares that people be allowed to do what they want or say what they want unless it inhibits another's ability to do the same. ie freedom of speech. We could even add in a clause that advises people to be considerate of everyone when they choose to honor some. ie don't act like an idiot about it and dishonor who you are trying to honor, like showing a mascot in a mocking way. So if you scrub of all of the brain wash you have been given and take a look at the concept of developing "relations" with the tribal govt (a dozen or two dudes) and then ask yourself, "How can a person or persons claim to be the keeper of the allowance and method of honor of people who by order after order of magnitude are more than they as individuals are?" I think you will not only find that they cannot but also see how easily manipulated you are. If you're really slow and have a hard time with the concept, try looking at it from this standpoint; What do you think the role of an elected government should be? Obviously there are many answers to this question because it largely depends on ones view, but I am wondering who would suggest that an appropriate role of an elected govt would be the definer of morality? The idea of the united states govt deciding the who's and how's regarding the freedom of speech is reprehensible, yet we all sit here and accept what is happening with our freedom to use the Sioux name being dictated by a dozen elected officials from Standing Rock? IT IS NOT ONE SINGLE SPECK SHORT OF FRICKING AMAZING THAT EVERYONE IS ACCEPTING THIS. not from a standpoint of a love for a nickname, BUT FROM A STANDPOINT OF LOVE FOR HUMANITY AND OUR FREEDOM AND WAY OF LIFE! WAKE-IP!!! -
I wonder if this will have a satellite feed for us FTAers

You completely missed my point. I have no doubt that you have had many challenging battles that you have had to endure in your life. We all have. Take me for example, I too got lay-ed off after a ten year career at Boeing. I have been unemployed for 8 months. My wife had a major stroke three years ago at the age of 37. We have three children to look out for. I had to leave Grand Forks 15 years ago to be close to my five yr old son because my ex-wife manipulated the legal system there to be able to move with him without my consent. This is just a snap-shot. I am not sharing this to compare battle wounds. I am just giving you a bit of my background so when I tell you that your struggles and how you have battled them are not not to be confused with credits toward civil participation or fighting against civil injustice, you will know I give this opinion with perspective. Further, I will add that the quantity of struggle people have in their personal lives might actually be increased as they, as a group, cease to stand up for civic injustice. ya know, if we let shitt happen to us, then we have more shitt happen to us. So, I will say, again, what have you ever done in your life in the realm of social action? Ya know, like attend a march, write letters to elected officials, go door to door, create a cause blog, stand at the door of the gov with a picket sign?? People used to do this stuff in our country, people in other countries still do this stuff-some more than others. I ask you the question because I hear you and others say that they are tired of the name battle and we just need to be done with it. I just don't see anyone as having really done anything. Of course, I do not contend to know what everyone has done but I will say this; We have something special here with our program and it's tradition. But we are not treating it as such, ie, with a respect for this, what it is, and not behaving in kind with a like "special attention" that is worthy of our program and its history and tradition in a time when our program needs us to be it's keeper. To say this another way, we are letting the Sioux tradition down. But I guess we are just fans and by definition we just watch and wait for others to do or not to do, followed by some words of praise or blame that we all sprinkle into conversations like salt and pepper. Also, I think it is short sighted to suggest that losing our name "will not" effect the future of Sioux tradition, notoriety and uniqueness. I think it very well might. -

I think your weakness, 82 SIOUX guy, is that you have never lived outside of North Dakota, you have no good perspective on how being a Sioux Fan is a unique. I have lived in several WCHA cities; MSP, St. Cloud, Colorado Springs, and Denver. I experience the other side, I hear the curious inquisitions from fans all over about the Sioux, their tradition, their arena, and how they have battled to keep their name or how they have a bonded passion and support for their team. As people would sit in Magness Arena in the season after their team, the Pioneers, won a national championship, I would see them, hear them, speak of the Sioux fans with disbelief as they marveled at how their arena that they never filled would be filled with Sioux Fans. One group would ask me or one of the many Sioux fans around me if I could explain to them how the heck all of these Sioux Fans could travel to away games. To which I always reply, "they didn't, they live here." Ya know, 82 SIOUX guy, I wonder what would be worth it for you to "Risk it" for? I wonder what you might have fought for in your life and if so, how that worked out. See, me, my view is that just about every single person in our country has no clue how they would even begin to fight for something. We drool as we watch the news and wait endlessly for something to remind us to move our will at all. We think we have will but much like a paralized person has a feeling like they will be able to walk again, we all think that we could fight for something if we needed to for the "right" cause but I don't think it's in us at all. I think we are told how to think and that includes being told when to protest, which is just about exactly never. So what I will suggest to you as well as all Sioux fans, of which there are many; Try to think for your self a moment. You should think about all of the people in our country and where they all live. Think about all of the towns of 30 or 40 thousand people in states like Montana, South Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, ya know, states like North Dakota- with nobody in them. Then ask yourself, "How many of them get to live in a place that has anything equivolent to what you have there in Grand Forks?" Something that people talk about a thousand miles away in a big city where their arena is transformed into a vertual Sioux home game right before their marveling eyes. And think about how many of those places have an arena that is a palace worthy of a Roman Collisium to watch their team battle. I grew up in a town the size of Grand Forks and I can tell you just about how crazy it would be to think of something like the Ralph being erected out of the dirt in my hometown. It is a thing of dreams. I once took a work buddy of mine from Denver to a game at the Ralph. He played D2 college hockey out east in the 80's. As we sat down in our seats before the game during the warm-up skate, he literally began to cry. I said, "fricking amazing huh" to which he replied, " I never in a million years would have guess that college hockey would have something like this. I am speachless" He wasn't just talking about the arena either. To this day, seven years later, he and my other buddy from Denver still tell people about how during the day of the Sioux game they were asked by people from waitresses to bank tellers if they were going to "the game" tonight. They couldn't believe that all across a city, people refered to a Sioux game as, "the Game". Anyway, to quote Forest a bit, 'Amazing is as amazing does', and maybe it requires amazing to stop the momentum of this unjustified theft of our identity and again maybe we just don't have it in us to be amazing. So then I guess we don't deserve what we have in the dirt and the souls of our Sioux brothers? Well at least you don't- So maybe you should change your F_cking name, 82 SIOUX guy. That's all I have to say about that... -

Not always, just since the invention of the printing press/media. People only are controlled when they are convinced that it is their best interests.. ya know maslow's hiearchy of needs and all. If people as a group really want something to happen it always will, unless like I said they get convinced to let it go or they get killed.
