  1. And minus my Y chromosome, my kids would have two moms. You can’t just “minus the National Championship season”
  2. You’re hilarious Darell. You make an argument for why Bubba has been better than Pelini. I refute it and now you change the argument to “Pelini hasn’t been great”. I’ve followed YSU as a conference member for years, I’m fully aware of what Pelini has and hasn’t accomplished. in comparison to Bubba, your original argument, his team’s have been much, much more competitive over the last five years. If you say differently than you haven’t followed YSU football. Pelini’s biggest downfall has been consistency. You have no idea which version of YSU you’ll get each week. They can lose to anyone, but also give the top conference members a serious run almost every time. Is Pelini great? Nope. Has he had more success than Bubba? Yep.
  3. Just goes to show how numbers without context are meaningless. Not all wins and losses are created equal. Look at YSU's 2017 schedule. 6-5 doesn't tell the whole story. https://www.ysusports.com/sports/fball/2017-18/schedule A loss is a loss as far as the playoffs go, but they took an FBS school and the FCS national champion to overtime.
  4. Just take out 2016? You mean the year YSU played for the National Championship?
  5. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of discussions both before and after September 7th. I look forward to it.
  6. He seems like he would have been a superstar in the slot. Playing that Weston Dressler/Ryan Smith role.
  7. Well I can understand the frustration with the previous guy then if you all felt they weren’t even recruiting the right guys for their system.
  8. This will come across as trash talk I realize, but it’s just more of an observation on people’s expectations for Freund. Every fan base has the right to be optimistic, I would do the same if it was my team. But I’m not necessarily understanding why most UND fans are certain that the offense will be significantly upgraded when it has so many questions marks. First time coordinator(gotta start somewhere I realize) brand new, unproven at UND offensive system. A full team of players that was recruited for a dramatically different system. I sincerely hope it turns out for UND outside of the NDSU game, because I think the rivalry is a ton of fun when both teams are great. I just am curious as to why most seem so certain he’s better than the previous guy with all of the question marks.
  9. Has he mentored under someone who runs the offense he's going to run or how did he pick it up? It sounds like it's very different than anything that's been run at UND before him.
  10. If a fan of football like myself was looking for a model of the Danny Freund offense, what team's offense would I look for tape on?

    2019 Season

I agree. Hendricks is just a great all around player, having him on the field feels like having a coach out there in a lot of ways. Tutsie is a guy that the coaches have had enormous praise for since he arrived on campus. I'm excited to see what he brings as the season progresses. At the corners, it seems like NDSU has been able to find excellent players at this position as far back as I can remember lately. Whether that's coaching or identifying great players in the recruiting process, this seems to be a position that continues to surprise me with how they can just plug new guys in and they play very well. This is the most interested I have been in an NDSU football season in years. So much change, it'll be interesting to see how/if it all comes together.
  12. He just called somebody fat on the internet as a grown adult, so...
  13. Fans show up when their school is talked about on rival boards, just the way it is. Start a thread about Montana players and you'll all of a sudden have Montana fans posting. Your comment begs the question, what point are you making with all of your comments if you've admitted that pretty well every school has violators and only an extremely small percentage of those show up as positive NCAA test?
  14. Couldn't you ask the same question for every team in the NCAA? Since the results aren't public, we could assume a lot of things about any team. The end result is one guy tested positive and per the rules he has been suspended. Until evidence suggests otherwise, thinking NDSU has a PED "problem" is simply wishful thinking by some here.
  15. Usually
  16. Why are you floored? Also, given that this kid was born into the NDSU family and was coming to games in diapers, I doubt he made this decision lightly. It was likely very challenging for him and was a very carefully considered decision. I'd be surprised if anything that NDSU does moving forward would make any sort of difference. With all of the "advantages" NDSU has in recruiting against other schools, the receiver position can actually one where NDSU is at a disadvantage due to the style of play. I have to think that if I'm an 18 year old receiver, playing in an EWU style offense would be a lot more fun than an NDSU style offense.
  17. Need a bigger sample size I think before making that assessment. I don't follow North Dakota recruiting as closely as I once did. I don't know if the players we aren't getting or aren't offering are misses or if the coaches simply don't believe they are right for NDSU. I can't imagine Entz doesn't see the value in keeping the top local talent given that ND players have been at the heart of every NDSU team since the beginning of time, but time will tell I suppose.
  18. If he's anything like his Dad and Uncle, you guys got a great player. Both were meticulous with their route running and had incredible hands. Great locker rooms guys too, the types of people you want on your team. Bummed NDSU couldn't land him. Good get for you guys.
  19. Did I just read an article somewhere that said UND had the most difficult strength of schedule in the fcs? edit: found it https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.herosports.com/amp/fcs/football-2019-toughest-schedules-bzbz With the attrition this last year(Santiago and oliveria) are fans feeling optimistic heading into the fall or what’s the general vibe?
  20. You spelled stimulants wrong.
  21. So bubba is a playoff miss away from looking for a job in the eyes of most fans?
  22. Would a blowout at NDSU be the death blow for him?
  23. Those sound about right. What will UND fans say if it’s a repeat of 2015?
  24. Mr. Newman, wasn’t specifically hired to bring supplements. He is hired as a motivational consultant.
  25. Shouldn’t the fact that you doubt caffeine as the substance raise red flags as to your own biases in this case? I’m not saying it is caffeine, I don’t have any insider info. But, the fact is the athlete stated he took a common pre workout drink.(caffeine is the active ingredient in most pre workout drinks). Coach Kleiman stated publicly that BR tested positive for a stimulant(caffeine is a stimulant). Caffeine is on the NCAA’s banned substances list when taken at certain quantities. Maybe he took an extra dose. This would account for how many other athletes could take the same thing in a lesser quantity possibly and not test positive. If you look at it objectively with all of the above info, all of a sudden Caffeine is actually very likely. Yet, you doubt it because caffeine is such a common substance that it doesn’t make NDSU look dirty like you are hoping for. You and others here want this to be a much bigger deal than it has ever been or ever will be. You doubting that it’s caffeine only reveals your hope that it isn’t caffeine.
