  1. I would be very surprised if that has ever happened. The only way I could see that happening is an FBS transition team playing at an FCS team that they had scheduled prior to their move up.
  2. Careful now. If you're going to keep showering us with compliments, we may stick around awhile.
  3. Offense inside defense outside
  4. New head coach, new offensive and defensive coordinators. Strength coach is the same. New QB. Running back is mostly new though it’s been a lot of rotating guys always at this position. Receiver we lost our best guy. Offensive line has a couple returning, but NDSU seems to always reload here. Defense has a ton of new faces at all three levels.
  5. And here the media has been telling us it’s just the millennials that need their safe spaces.
  6. I’m sure we could look back on the posts here if we wanted to. I remember many UND fans saying the football team specifically wouldn’t be able to compete at the I-AA/FCS level. I also remember many UND fans saying UND’s transition to I-AA would go great because “if an above average DII team like NDSU can make it look easy, a great DII team like UND should have no problem”
  7. Haha, nice one. im a little slow on the uptake today.
  8. Not sure I’m following your meaning
  9. Well I really look forward to seeing how UND takes advantage of NDSU’s unfortunate twist of fate on September 7th then. New QB, new coaching staff. NDSU is ripe for picking and should be a nice win for UND.
  10. And NDSU contributed in no way to those teams having a poor performance that day. Team’s talent and performance don’t exist in a vacuum or on paper each Saturday. How they perform against a specific opponent speaks to that opponent just as much as it does the team. This Bison fan doesn’t believe for a second, no matter how many layers deep you go, that NDSU’s success is the result of luck. They have a winning formula that makes the other team play mistake free football to keep up with them. They also consistently have an FBS caliber O-line that surprises FBS schools who think they will just out muscle NDSU. And that’s exactly what you see when they line up against FBS teams.
  11. To qualify for “just trying to get the Bison fans going” you’d have to say something you don’t actually believe. That isn’t the case here as many UND fans sincerely believe NDSU’s success against FBS schools is luck.
  12. Isn’t it a little early to start making excuses for Oregon? How would you have any clue what kind of team they’ll put on the field over a year from now? As to the rest of your post...wow.
  13. And minus my Y chromosome, my kids would have two moms. You can’t just “minus the National Championship season”
  14. You’re hilarious Darell. You make an argument for why Bubba has been better than Pelini. I refute it and now you change the argument to “Pelini hasn’t been great”. I’ve followed YSU as a conference member for years, I’m fully aware of what Pelini has and hasn’t accomplished. in comparison to Bubba, your original argument, his team’s have been much, much more competitive over the last five years. If you say differently than you haven’t followed YSU football. Pelini’s biggest downfall has been consistency. You have no idea which version of YSU you’ll get each week. They can lose to anyone, but also give the top conference members a serious run almost every time. Is Pelini great? Nope. Has he had more success than Bubba? Yep.
  15. Just goes to show how numbers without context are meaningless. Not all wins and losses are created equal. Look at YSU's 2017 schedule. 6-5 doesn't tell the whole story. https://www.ysusports.com/sports/fball/2017-18/schedule A loss is a loss as far as the playoffs go, but they took an FBS school and the FCS national champion to overtime.
  16. Just take out 2016? You mean the year YSU played for the National Championship?
  17. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of discussions both before and after September 7th. I look forward to it.
  18. He seems like he would have been a superstar in the slot. Playing that Weston Dressler/Ryan Smith role.
  19. Well I can understand the frustration with the previous guy then if you all felt they weren’t even recruiting the right guys for their system.
  20. This will come across as trash talk I realize, but it’s just more of an observation on people’s expectations for Freund. Every fan base has the right to be optimistic, I would do the same if it was my team. But I’m not necessarily understanding why most UND fans are certain that the offense will be significantly upgraded when it has so many questions marks. First time coordinator(gotta start somewhere I realize) brand new, unproven at UND offensive system. A full team of players that was recruited for a dramatically different system. I sincerely hope it turns out for UND outside of the NDSU game, because I think the rivalry is a ton of fun when both teams are great. I just am curious as to why most seem so certain he’s better than the previous guy with all of the question marks.
  21. Has he mentored under someone who runs the offense he's going to run or how did he pick it up? It sounds like it's very different than anything that's been run at UND before him.
  22. If a fan of football like myself was looking for a model of the Danny Freund offense, what team's offense would I look for tape on?

    2019 Season

I agree. Hendricks is just a great all around player, having him on the field feels like having a coach out there in a lot of ways. Tutsie is a guy that the coaches have had enormous praise for since he arrived on campus. I'm excited to see what he brings as the season progresses. At the corners, it seems like NDSU has been able to find excellent players at this position as far back as I can remember lately. Whether that's coaching or identifying great players in the recruiting process, this seems to be a position that continues to surprise me with how they can just plug new guys in and they play very well. This is the most interested I have been in an NDSU football season in years. So much change, it'll be interesting to see how/if it all comes together.
  24. He just called somebody fat on the internet as a grown adult, so...
  25. Fans show up when their school is talked about on rival boards, just the way it is. Start a thread about Montana players and you'll all of a sudden have Montana fans posting. Your comment begs the question, what point are you making with all of your comments if you've admitted that pretty well every school has violators and only an extremely small percentage of those show up as positive NCAA test?
