And to repeat myself, UND was not penalized for winning at Wyoming. UND was penalized for losing against Idaho State. You’re changing the wrong variable. If you had gone 6-5 with a loss instead of a win at Wyoming, do you think that somehow improves the resume? if you had lost to Wyoming, but beaten Idaho state and ended up with the same record than yes, that improves your resume. That’s not what you’re saying though.

I disagree, in a 12 game season, 7-4 isn’t necessarily going to be a no brainer to get you in. There will be more 8 win teams than an 11 game year. As has been said, if you end up 7-4 with a loss to Weber. It will depend on how you look in these last three games. Play Weber tough and 7-4 should get you in as long as those last two games aren’t extremely close.
-
It was four years ago, nearly all UND fans don’t remember every single detail. I’m agreeing with you all that UND probably should have gotten in and I remembering feeling that way at the time. What are you taking issue with that I’m saying?
-
Quality contribution as always. Go tell some teenagers to get off your lawn and leave the football to us.
-
Apparently it was to the committee. I agreed you should have been in, but I don’t make the decisions and am just trying speculate on their decision process. Truth is, teams on the bubble are almost always interchangeable. Resumes are so similar, it’s just splitting hairs at that point and an awful loss apparently was their reason for keeping UND out in 2015.
-
And my point, along with others, is to say that 6-5, 7-4, wouldn’t have mattered if you don’t beat Idaho state. It wasn’t the FBS win that kept you out, it was the Idaho state loss. UND was their only FCS win that year.
-
But, to look at it objectively, you can’t say the Wyoming win “hurt you”, it actually helped you. It’s just that the idaho state loss was so bad, not that the Wyoming win was somehow bad.

https://eiupanthers.com/sports/football/schedule/2015 lol...yeah...wow.
-
https://unhwildcats.com/mobile/schedule.aspx?schedule=10 Yikes, gotta agree with you there. This is about the worst 7-4 I’ve seen.
-
I really think them beating the #5 team in the nation the last game of the year was too big to not bring them into the mix. That coupled with them beating a really good UNI team that year. I think it was the wrong decision, but I can see why they made the decision. I doubt the Wyoming win “hurt” UND that year, as was said by others.
-
Yes, Western Illinois. It was hotly debated at the time and I believe the kicker was western Illinois beat both SDSU and UNI that year. UNI ended up making the semis I believe. I think UND deserved it, but the committee was too excited about WIU beating SDSU the last game of the year.
-
I think a 7-4 UND, as long as you look like you belong against Weber for most of the game, gets in over both of those schools. The Davis and Montana state wins are nice. The problem may be though, from my understanding when there are bubble teams, having a person in that room arguing your case can be helpful. At 7-4 with UND being an independent this year, I could see that hurting you guys.
-
You think that UND is still on some sort of NCAA hit list? Is that what you mean by agenda? I think you may be seeing connections that aren’t there. How was UND punished for the win at Wyoming?
-
I don't necessarily disagree with your first sentence, but the issue for both SDSU and UNI is they also haven't had another opportunity for a quality win. To use Weber State as a comparison. They have two quality wins over Sac St and UNI, but if you were to take those two games off their schedule, I think you could still decide that Weber State has a top 10 FCS team given how they performed in their FBS games. As for SDSU, as an NDSU fan this is hard for me to say, but I think if they're starting QB doesn't go out in that game, the outcome may have been different. They looked like the better team for most of that game if you ask me. They are gonna be a really tough out in the playoffs even with the backup QB.
-
Neither UNI nor SDSU have any signature wins. True. But how should a committee deciding rankings take into account FBS losses in overtime and losing to top 5 FCS teams? I get that it's a running joke around here about the quality losses, but if UND had taken NDSU to overtime, my guess is you guys wouldn't be sweating a possible 7-4 end of season record.
-
Does how a team plays in losses play any role in your opinion of that team or is a loss a loss in your book?
-
Make up your mind, are you trying to troll so ndsu fans show up or are you going to whine when we show up?
-
Lighten up Francis, it was a joke. Apparently it’s also for UND Hockey fans to disparage FCS football.
-
I actually find it odd that UND fans are posting in the thread called non-UND FCS thread. I thought this thread was for us visitors.

Didn’t realize the most popular college football tv show in the nation goes to places 99% of college football fans don’t know about.

In looking through the contract, I found it interesting that it stipulates only one national championship bonus would be awarded. That seems like the type of bonus that is a really nice risk/reward bonus for the school. If I’m any athletic administration I’d shell out that 20k bonus every single year gladly if you’re winning NCs.

McFeely will say anything to get a rise out of people and get them talking. Its a tactic used far too often in the media in 2019. These people’s “opinions”can rarely be taken seriously. I’d be surprised if he believed half the things he wrote.
-
I hate to pick on a fellow Bison fan, but this is a very “fan” thing to say. A “run between the tackles” can be run about a dozen different ways by changing blocking schemes, lead blockers formations, etc. Each of these are a different look for the defense and need to be played different. NDSU’s bread and butter will always be the A gap power. When it’s working our offensive lineman have fun telling the other team we are running it. Good luck stopping it. Tyler has been doing a hell of a job if you ask me.
-
I agree, 3-2 is a nice record given the schedule, as I said I predicted 2-3 through that stretch. You’re right, Davis looked like a solid team against us, but hasn’t lived up to the team they looked like in the Fargodome. I don’t follow them close enough to know if there is some explanation for their recent missteps or if the competition They’ve faced(UND included, obviously) has been solid and made them look bad.
-
Not sure I’m following. Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me. Sarcasm, if that’s what’s happening, doesn’t come through very well on message boards.
