Please work with the O line on the NO BACK sets and Studs in the gun. The free runs up the middle in that formation to start the season are unbelievable. Scrap that formation or get it fixed. Opposing D-coordinators have to be licking there chops with that formation.

I do believe that USD was in the Summit already. Because UND was in the Great West in 2012 and USD was in the Summit in 2012. UND moved to the Big Sky in 2013. I believe that USD going to the Summit 1 year early caused a dust-up about the nickname.

I have to disagree with this statement... all they had to do was listen to input from fans. The nickname process was a mess, I still don't know anyone who will admit that they voted for the Fighting Hawks and how a Hawks represents any of the symbols they identified. Then we get some power hungry short term President who thinks that he has all the answers who picks a logo and then takes away the interlocking ND. You can make it up from one extreme to the other.

But, what does designing a logo have to do with retiring the interlocking ND? Who in the hell said anything about that?

R1, R2 and R3 are Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education classifications. Doctoral Universities Includes institutions that awarded at least 20 research/scholarship doctoral degrees during the update year (this does not include professional practice doctoral-level degrees, such as the JD, MD, PharmD, DPT, etc.). Excludes Special Focus Institutions and Tribal Colleges. R1: Doctoral Universities – Highest research activity R2: Doctoral Universities – Higher research activity R3: Doctoral Universities – Moderate research activity As far as conferences and Research Universities moving to the BSC was a step up in class for Idaho. I was surprised to see Ga St as a R-1 school. The BSC numbers include Idaho. If NMSU moves to the BSC it would be 8 R2 schools. Idaho St. is a R3. I threw in the MW, MVFC and Sun Belt for comparison. The 3 Dakota schools really carry the MVFC in terms of research schools. The other two are SIU and ISU-Red (ISU-Blue is a R3).
