  1. Exactly..... I live in the Twin Cities and hear it many times and not in a positive way... please stop this Nodak and Sun Dogs madness
  2. How does Sun Dog pass the test - have they looked at the urban dictionary meaning of Sun Dog
  3. Thought that I would drop this little nugget right here - enjoy http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-football/3799122-und-ndsu-football-hopefully-embarrassing-era-over
  4. Big Sky, MVFC (big if on MVC schools - they are basketball schools first) and CAA are not comparable to the American or Mountain West. They would start near the bottom of the G5 conferences. Plus, ESPN recent financial concerns may not be good for the G5. ESPN lost 3.2 million subscribers last year and that trend is not going to change. The younger generation does not watch cable. I know this because we dropped cable in my house it did not phase my kids at all. It is not what they do... they are on youtube and other media outlets.
  5. Yes, still there and very good.
  6. That was a fun watch - congrats to Jeff C. I hope this gives him the opportunity to continue his career.
  7. I recommend both Caps or Ted Cooks.. and yes take out only for Ted Cooks. The area around Ted Cooks has made some changes recently. There is a new Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub. I have heard good things about, but I have not tried. It is always too busy when we stop. Which I take as a good sign.
  8. Actually - U of Min and a couple of other schools in Minnesota are feeling IX pressure right now. I thought the article was interesting in how the NCAA looks at actual participant counts. Which I think others have talked about with NDSU. http://www.startribune.com/feds-weigh-allegations-of-gender-inequity-in-u-of-m-sports/306866861/ The largest group of Gophers’ female participants comes from track and field. Those athletes account for 227 participants, although many of them are counted three times by competing in indoor and outdoor track and cross-country. That counting is allowable and common, but the OCR will focus on whether it represents true opportunities for women, said Title IX attorney Nancy Hogshead-Makar. ........ While 501 female Gophers athletes are listed on Minnesota’s EADA filing, when male practice players are removed and each athlete is counted once, that number shrinks to 312 female student-athletes.
  9. It feels like you have been going to school forever when are you going to graduate? So, another more interesting NDSU student can take your place as the Voice of the NDSU student body on this message board.
  10. I have a family member that is a Halo pro.. makes a nice living. I was amazed at his eye for the graphics and how he could see the game and its flaws and of course to exploit them. Lets just say he crushed me when we played. It is a very interesting profession. He talked about the struggle he had with the career and balancing the enjoyment of playing the games versus making it his job. A couple of days later, I was talking to a couple of friends about this topic and how interesting it was and they complained about how their sons and their friends watch - YouTube channels of gamers and they actually followed them like pro athletes. So, I would say get used to seeing this - you are going to see more and more of it.

Frustrating to hear that it appears center/QB exchange is still a problem. They have got to get this cleaned up.. - thanks for the updates Dustin/Teeder..
  12. I guess you could say softball might be funded at a different level but I don't see a real funding difference by NDSU to rationalize a completely different approach for meeting Title IX. Here are the number for all womens sports shared by the Dakota schools. Total NDSU 3,869,847 SDSU 2,980,155 UND 3,452,455 USD 3,197,921 Basketball NDSU 1,060,291 SDSU 962,049 UND 1,088,751 USD 926,778 Golf NDSU 212,801 SDSU 185,196 UND 164,263 USD 171,786 Soccer NDSU 566,590 SDSU 489,120 UND 500,194 USD 399,835 Volleyball NDSU 676,828 SDSU 407,265 UND 646,287 USD 542,269 Softball NDSU 677,989 SDSU 455,473 UND 468,635 USD 429,907 All Track Combined NDSU 675,348 SDSU 481,052 UND 584,325 USD 727,346
  13. Here are the numbers. sorry table format did not carry through
  14. So, WWC schools in NDSU, South Dakota State, Wyoming, Air Force, Utah Valley and Northern Colorado are all joining the Big XII because it is losing schools and has not had a AQ for a couple of year.. ok got it nothing to see here.
  15. Nice cherry picking - he was responding to someone who is trying to compare UND to UT.
  16. Hey guys, I am a big college basketball fan and I understand why many are frustrated with the current state of things at UND. But, please don't turn every thread into bash the program and Jones thread. There are threads for that topic already. thanks...
  17. Billings is in middle of nothing and only convenient for the Montana schools... Boise works for Montana, Montana St., Weber St, Idaho, Idaho St. EWU and PSU. All within 250 to 450 miles. Put it in Boise.
  18. Come on the Big Sky is garbage - they only have two teams ranked in the Mid Major poll (EWU 18, Sac St 21 and Montana RV (26th). No bad company for conferences with multiple teams ranked... Big Bad Mid Major Conference Summit League - ZERO!!! West Coast - 3 teams ranked MAC - 3 teams ranked Missouri Valley - 2 teams ranked Ohio Valley - 2 teams ranked Ivy - 2 teams ranked Horizon - 2 teams ranked Southland - 2 teams ranked Big Sky - 2 teams ranked http://www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.php
  19. Wow... crazy game Griz and Weber St going to OT... good watch.
  20. Quick question, how much money does the football program bring in for the other programs after all the football bills are paid? not trolling - serious question
  21. Well that didn't take long.. 50% hair cut for UND and FU only and specific language against athletic scholarships. And of course they will take it as the legislature is out to get them unbelievable how tone def the FU leadership is... NOTE: This is not the final bill - just the house version... more to come. The House voted 76-16 last week to pass House Bill 1151, renewing the Higher Education Challenge Fund on the condition that funds are no longer available for athletic scholarships. 50% hair cut - FU/UND - all other schools no change. and the amount designated for FU and the University of North Dakota would be cut to $5 million each, down from twice that. The other nine colleges would again receive $1 million each. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/3689913-house-renews-higher-education-challenge-fund-not-athletic-scholarships
  22. That is a interesting take.. it sounds like more of a problem at FU versus anything going on at UND. I do think that FU appears to be a bit tone deaf politically.. is the couple of hundred thousand added by the fund really worth it in the big picture? And just because the chairman doesn't have a problem with athletic scholarships doesn't mean others in the legislature will approve of it. I think that it would have been a much better move for all schools to stay away from athletic scholarships given the recent Higher Education battles that have taken place in the legislature and recent softening of the oil market.
  23. I really liked Cashman and Shields tonight they looked really good.
  24. Bowling Green sounds like SCSU... can a conference have two Jan Brady's - I guess one in the east and one in the west.
