Not saying this is what is going on but it's somewhat fitting: A coach had just been hired for a new position. The outgoing coach who was stepping down met with him privately and presented him with three numbered envelopes. "Open these if you run up against a problem you don't think you can solve," he said. Well, things went along pretty smoothly, but a few games into the season things took a downturn and he was really catching a lot of heat. About at his wit's end, he remembered the envelopes. He went to his drawer and took out the first envelope. The message read, "Blame your predecessor." The new coach subtly and tactfully laid the blame at the feet of the previous coach. Satisfied with his comments, the press and fans responded positively and the problem was soon behind him. The next season the team was again experiencing a slight dip. Having learned from his previous experience, the coach quickly opened the second envelope. The message read, "Reorganize." This he did, and the team rebounded. After several consecutive tough seasons, the team once again fell on difficult times. The coach went to his office, closed the door and opened the third envelope. The message said, "Prepare three envelopes."

Ease up Bucko - it's a Sioux Fan site -of course we are going to talk trash when we know there are trolls hanging around to poke. It's just too darn easy to write trashy stuff about FU and your team makes it so easy. Plus this is the place to do it - you are the one that chooses to hover here and correct everything we post. Fan sites are for fun and entertainment.

It's kind of like their need to reference "The Big Three" in reference to SDSU, USD and FU - just a way to diss UND and in no way based in reality. Their national championships are admirable - their willingness to bring in problem players, and how they deal with them, to achieve it and subsequent cost to the program's reputation is what tarnishes them.

Realistically - if the school is no longer known as the Fighting Sioux and the reason the name was taken away is because it is politically incorrect and offensive I highly doubt the school would be willing to resurrect the trophy because of this. The ND State Historical Society and Statue Museum in Bismarck is probably the best place for it - then if were to be stolen it's probably a felony.

Since UND owned it for about the last 10 years of the rivalry I saw it a couple of times. I know why there is interest down south - they haven't seen it very much in the last 20 years.

I think we could just repost this discussion from last year (every year). Of course the fans of the team that don't have the trophy have lots of ideas on what to do with the trophy. UND has every right to keep the trophy UND: Holds the overall win/loss record Won the last time the teams met No way it will ever be up for grabs again - it's too politically incorrect. I could see it going to the ND state museum on the capital grounds and would love to have the display include the score of every game played in the series along with the ESPN? program featuring the rivalry segment.

Is there any benefit to getting tickets now - if you aren't that concerned about where you sit? There will be lots of tickets and lots of empty seats to move down into.

On weekends when there is a home hockey series and home football game that's: 12,000 hockey 10,000 football (and growing) 12,000 hockey 34,000 total tickets sold for UND sporting events

Yah and that great education leads to them becoming petition signature gatherers - oh wait - they couldn't even do that right.

Uh - this thread is in the community forum and as those at FU will gladly tell you the FU futball team is the most popular team in the state - which means this should be open for discussion in a forum about Community. Oh andy by the way there are 10 times as many threads about UND on Bisonswille as there are here. They actually have people combing the internet to find the smallest thing and then post a thread about it. You will never find any posting on the Siouxsports forum about FU coaching hirings, FU ticket promotions, where FU landed in their overall conference point standings... I could go on. Oh and you will never hear bison Suck at any UND game or pep rally that does not involve the bison.

What's wrong with having some fun - it's called creative marketing. Those that want to go negative will always find a way. Bisonswille just can't get over UND it's a pathetic group of twenty-somethings with nothing better to do that constantly search out things about UND - a school they claim to have no interest in. I am certain there will be postings about Pat Behns over there soon

My conversation with him was that if all of last year's renewed they would have about 20+ open single spots - now most people take more than one spot so at the most that would be 10-12 openings for season tailgaters. I'm feeling lucky.

True your $50 includes a parking pass but it is for that spot - so if you only purchase one tailgating spot your vehicle has to be parked in that spot - pretty much means you need two spots one for the vehicle one for the grilling and chairs. I was told that once the spots from last year have been renewed they will be contacting people on a waiting list so if you are intereseted call and get on the waiting list.
