  1. Recently, ORU and Denver wanted in. UMKC left because they couldn't compete in the Summit. Oakland wanted in the Horizon because of geography, and I can't blame them. They went from a plane league to largely a bus league. Are you saying UND wouldn't leave the BSC for a Summit/MVFC combo?
  2. It usually takes at least 2, maybe 3 high schools kid to get him to the ground, and he runs away for d-backs. You might see one or the other qualities in high school backs, but rarely both. I don't know much about him as a hockey player, but I have heard he may want to play hockey instead of football after high school.
  3. If the Summit is so bad, why are they consistently rated ahead of the BSC in recent years in men's basketball? If UND was offered a package deal of Summit and MVFC membership, they would jump at the chance. NDSU on the other hand, would rather stay in the Summit/MVFC than take a BSC offer. Portland St, Sac St, Southern Utah, Northern Ariz, etc. They don't get UND fans blood boiling any more than Oral Roberts, IPFW, etc would, and NDSU, SDSU, and USD would be more attractive both rivalry wise and geographically than U of Mont or MSU, which are supposedly UND's new rivals. .
  4. Yes, Hard to find that combination of size, power, balance and speed in a running back. He may average 300 yards a game next year and that is with defenses selling out to stop him.
  5. For what it's worth, It sounds like there may not be an in-state recruiting war for Jahannesson from Fargo South next year. He is apparently getting some major attention from the Univ of Nebraska. I'm sure there will be more FBS interest coming.
  6. Slummit League #15 in conference RPI in men's basketball, Big Why conference #27, Missouri Valley Conference Football Conference #1 in FCS football, Big Why #4. If the Summit is the doormat of D1, then I guess the BSC is the equivalent of a D2 league.

Actually you can watch 75% of NDSU mens basketball games and all of the football games on free tv this year. Those are the two sports most people are interested in. And you don't even need an internet connection to watch the grainy Big Sky feed, just a television.
  8. I hear only NDSU, they offered him a full.
  9. But NDSU football is the State of North Dakota's team. Just ask the Bismarck Tribune..............even though it was just a couple of years ago posters here said with UND in the Big Sky, Western ND would forget about NDSU and be solely UND territory.
  10. Half of the kids that sign next Wednesday will never see the field. It's a total crap shoot. No one really knows have they will pan out. I still say its more what you do with developing the athletes once you get them on campus than what they did in high school. That starts with Jim Kramer at NDSU. NDSU hasn't recruited the best athletes in FCS the last 4 years, but they have had the best football team. Marcus Collins finished high school early and is enrolled at NDSU and started winter workouts with the team. He just tweeted it has only been 2 weeks and his shirts are already too small. Not sure anyone is better than Kramer and NDSU is really lucky to still have him. Bohl really wanted him at Wyoming, but his family ties to Fargo kept him here. UND should be investing in a good strength coach.
  11. And who said NDSU offered Ferguson? Not on any recruiting sites.
  12. UND coaches didn't want him? Too small for them?
  13. So lets see, UND is offering more money and a much easier path to playing time. NDSU already has a DE committed that was much more heavily recruited and has a tremendous upside (Greg Menard),an athlete who may project as a DE (Marcus Collins), both of whom have FBS offers, and a true freshman they took the redshirt off of this year (Ambrosius) ahead of him. It sounds like the kid made a good decision for himself. Now show me a heavily recruited kid with equal offers from both schools that picks UND. Then they will have won a head to head recruiting battle.
  14. Yes, that's it, NDSU fans are nervous about the Quonset adding on....... Davis and Sac St don't have the fan interest to go FBS. If they want to stay relevant in football, what does Wichita State add? UND will NOT go FBS before NDSU does.
  15. The real work at NDSU is going on right now. Games are won just as much now in the weight and training rooms than in fall camp, and with Jim Kramer staying on as their strength and conditioning coach, they will continue with that mind set. You don't have to get the strongest and most talented guy on campus as a freshman as long as they are willing to put in the work to get faster, stronger and better conditioned. I think NDSU has done an good job of getting those kids, and when they get one that isn't willing to put in the work, they are gone.
  16. If Sam Houston and Delaware move up, I look for NDSU and SDSU to make a push for the Mountain West. I think they may be open to 10 schools in case Boise or Fresno leave. They would make good travel partners for all sports other than football. If the FCS loses 2-4 more top schools, NDSU won't stay.
  17. Where are the other scholarships coming from? You are allowed 13 in Mens Basketball.
  18. You may be right. Hearing the NDSU offer is a partial and the UND is a full ride.
  19. So UND=Harvard? And yes, If a St. Cloud grad interviews better and sound more competent than a Harvard grad, he gets the job. Guess what, the person with the best grades in high school doesn't necessarily make a better employee.
  20. A degree from UND or NDSU is worth exactly the same, get over yourselves. I work at a company that has hundreds of college grads. I asked the HR person in charge of recruiting if it matters where the prospective employee got their degree. I was told it makes ZERO difference. Just that they have one, after that it is all about the personality and what they bring to the interview.
  21. I think you are seeing why with all of his talent and athletic ability that Huff is not at a major D-1 school. He has the talent but is too selfish with the ball. Jones needs to sit him when he gets out of control and gets into his it's me against the world mindset. I just don't think Jones has the guts to sit him for a half, or whatever it takes. Can you imagine Huff playing like that in Bo Ryan's system? He wouldn't have lasted a year, and he has been doing it for 4 in Jones system.
  22. I think NDSU was Jensen's only offer other than D2 schools. It worked out pretty well for them.
  23. While I agree NDSU needs big men for next year, but I think you are getting way too excited over Shanks. 7 footers with skills don't end up at mid or low majors. If he was that good, the U of M would have offered a scholarship and gotten him admitted. He could very well be a Calcaterra or Salmonson, just 3 inches taller. I have seen a few 6-11 or 7 footers come through the BSA in the last 6 or 7 years, and only one had any skills at all, Keith Benson at Oakland.
  24. UND wins are Robert Morris, Northern Colorado, Weber State? and who? Don't know who will be strong in BSC next year, who else do you see as a win for UND?
  25. If UND coaches have the same attitude against Agriculture that UND fans have, I can see why they don't do real well on the recruiting trail with the big offensive and defensive lineman (or other positions) at the small town North Dakota and rural Minnesota schools.
