But you are having MAJOR problems filling your stadium.
-
NDSU will be charging $40 a game this year for every game anyway. I know that is hard to believe when you can buy a season ticket to UND football for $40. Why make an extra $5 or $10 per ticket for one game and let your bitter rival double their football ticket revenue 2 years later in one game? I don't see any reason to help a school that has coaches that claim they are the only Division 1 school in the state.
-
Ferris was probably are better opponent than UND would have been last year. Not sure Weber won't be better than UND next year.
-
Apparently those farm owners didn't learn much at UND when the NDSU farm workers are $120,000 further ahead after 20 years.
-
Why not take it? UND doesn't generate $190k in gate revenue for a home game and probably doesn't make 50k after having to pay an OOC opponent to come to the Alerus. Plus, it is pretty much an easy road win for UND if you listen to people on this site. It sounds like a no lose situation for UND.
-
Fixed it for you.
-
FBS teams aren't real excited about scheduling NDSU and getting beat, that is why they don't have an FBS game for 2015 yet. But they will get one scheduled if the UND thing doesn't work out.
-
Actually, the $190k was for a single guarantee game, not 2 games.
-
Yeah, UND doesn't need the game. They can play Drake and get 6000 paying fans (8000 total with 2000 students) at $20/ticket for a gate of $120,000. They will pay Drake at least that much so at best it is a break even game, or they can play NDSU with 10,000 paying fans at $50/ticket for a gate of $500,000 with nothing to pay NDSU. NDSU could play Drake and sell 15,000 tickets (19,000 total with 4000 students) at $40/ticket, or they could play UND and get the same gate. Sounds to me like one school needs it worse than the other, and the negotiations show it.

So Faison will travel to Idaho and lose money but won't take 200 grand to go to Fargo? Maybe he has some credibility problems.
-
If Faison really wanted to play the game he would take the $190,000, which would be all profit, and play it. They have traveled to Idaho to play a game and have lost money, as he said the contract wasn't even enough to cover expenses for the trip. He didn't demand a return trip from Idaho.
-
What's the big deal. The first 2 games should be in Fargo. UND hosted the last game so the next game to fulfill UND's obligation to to return that game that they backed out of would be the 2015 game. The next game in 2017 would be the start of a new rotation of games, which NDSU should get to host also. Why wouldn't UND take a guarantee of $190,000 for a game in 2015? They have traveled to Idaho, Fresno, etc. on a charter plane and stayed in hotels for the same amount. Seems kind of hypocritical of Mr Faison to me.

I can think of a couple of JUCO's that have made significant contributions to NDSU over the past 6 or 7 years (Pike and Gatlin), and neither were starters. I can't think of any FBS transfers that have contributed at all. It seems that FBS transfers are generally either trouble makers or not as good as advertised. I am not sold on King Frazier making much of a contribution at NDSU. Is going to transfers (JUCO or FBS) to go from a 4 win team to maybe a 5 or 6 win team worth it if it disrupts the locker room with bad attitudes?
-
NDSU has shown you can jump up from D2 and be a back up safety on a very good FCS Missouri Valley FC team and get a shot at the NFL. I wonder how many back ups at the FCS level get a FA contract on an NFL team?
-
If gfNDfan picked up on it, I doubt it went over anybody's head.

I have been busy bailing UND hockey players out of jail.
-
NDSU did want Hooker. Recruiting is an inexact science. I for one am glad they didn't get him. I have seen Tyler play in person several times. If you leave him wide open he can hit a shot, but he can't create for himself or others. I will take Alexander and Brown over those 2 any day. We will have to see about Dupree, they didn't need him last year with the guards they had. Athletically, he is better than either of UND's guards.
-
McFarlane obviously heard about the arrests on the UND hockey team last week and thought it fitting that the UND Sioux mascot would be drunk.
-
If I was a fan of a team that will be counting heavily on a VERY overated Hooker and a UMKC castoff in Tyler as their starting backcourt, I would be worried about my own team. Neither of them has any ability to create offense for themselves, and I would be surprised if they get any better with that coaching staff. As far as players with only D2 offers, I think NDSU has done fairly well with Woodside, Winkleman, Braun, etc. Some coaching staff develop talent, while others let their players regress.
-
What exactly is the hypocrisy of NDSU when it comes to football scheduling? They schedule a non-D1 only when a "quality" FCS team backs out 5 months before their game is scheduled?
-
I guess if your idea of full D1 means beating a bunch of mostly D2 and D3 schools I guess you are right.
-
I think they open the first 20 minutes so the media can get a report or a story in that time if they want to.

How many coaches before Hak had the new Ralph to recruit to? No coach has had this kind of a draught of National Championships at UND since before the 1980's and they were working with the Old Ralph and no one was calling the Old Ralph the best hockey facility in the country college or pro.
-
And how many years do you give Hakstol and keep increasing his salary before you get better results out of him? He was one game away from not even making it to the NCAA tournament this year.

Still waiting to see how we know Walseth's sexual orientation. Are all women's basketball player lesbian's? Madi Buck, Emily Evers, the Pudenz's? Please enlighten us?
