UND fans on this thread said themselves that this appearance of Gameday is about NDSU and NOT about UND but NDSU fans wouldn't be able to keep from mentioning UND. Then why would Sioux fans show up at the event wearing Sioux gear?

Yes, but all ages and shapes wear t-shirts, Jerseys are worn by the athletes that play the sport, not by fans that think that maybe if I wear this jersey I will look like an athlete that could be on the ice, field, court, etc if I wanted to be.

Well, if you are no longer college aged or younger, you should be wearing shirts honoring your favorite teams, not jerseys. I can't get over how stupid it looks when you have a stadium full of overweight middle aged people wearing jerseys. A UND hockey game would be the number one culprit, a Minnesota Viking game would be a close 2nd.

Well, when a UND fan shows up wearing a Sioux hockey jersey holding up an obscene sign about Coach Bohl and his sexual preferences what would you expect?

Going for 2 with that lead is just classless. Hopefully UND gets a chance to return the favor in the next couple of years. He looked like an experienced head coach and not some arrogant young kid, you would think he would know better, Did anyone hear his explanation for it after the game?

Let's not make Montana out as a National championship lock yet. There is all this talk of how great the App State win was, and then App St goes out and loses at home to North Carolina A&T last week. Maybe not such a great win now. Also, U of Mont may get more respect when they stop backing out of agreements to return home and home series like they did with NDSU and SDSU or faking extra points up by 36 in the fourth quarter. Two things that show they don't respect their opponents and have very little class.

I for one wouldn't want a coach that was proud of a defense and thought they played well after giving up 300 yards to a running back like Mussman said after the game. It sounds like your color guy on the radio is big into moral victories just like your HC. Lots of one play here or one play there type of talk. But I have to hand it to UND, NOBODY plays harder.

The difference is UND had better coaching and a better defense back in those days against Northern Iowa. Honestly not trying to stir anything up, but I think it is true. I equate this UND staff to NDSU's Babich staff. Maybe not quite as bad as Babich, but close.

I don't know how this game will turn out, but I think UND needs to score 45 to win. It will be interesting to see how Bartels handles an FCS defense that can put a little pressure on him. If they throw the ball like they did last week, it will be a game. I say Zenner gets between 200 and 250 yards on the ground.

Size doesn't mean as much as you may think. NDSU linebackers would be considered undersized (210-220 lbs), as would their d-line (their ends may be 240lbs), but they are fast and athletic. KSU beat writer tweeted during the game how he was surprised by the speed of the NDSU defense. I have seen lots of 6 foot 300 lb d-linemen ove the past 8 years in FCS, and they typically get dominated.

Yeah, I agree UND is getting some pretty good recruits, but unfortunately for UND, their coaches don't seem to be able to coach them up after they get on campus. Bubba Schwietzer could have coached the same D2 athletes he had at UND back in the 90's and not allowed as many 500+ yard games as this years team did. I honestly don't think UND will ever win a National Championship with this Mussman staff. Just like NDSU would not have won with a Bob Babich staff. Although both Mussman's and Babich's teams would have played harder than anybody.

Yes, kicking in doors and starting fights, beating people sensless (UND LB a couple of years ago), a drug ring run in a house full of UND football players led by at least 3 players, who were dealing drugs including meth and steroids, is nothing compared to having the right to vote on a gay marriage amendment that didn't have a snowballs chance of passing in this state.

Why weren't the captains charged? Someone had to have supplied the minors with the alcohol. One of the captains was present when the police were at the dorm. You would think when a minor has to be admitted to a hospital for alcohol poisoning there would be an investigation into who supplied it.

After seeing what the UND defense has done so far this year, maybe somebody should buy this book for Mr. Mannausau.......Seriously.......

I would be very concerned until you can hold a D1 team to less than 500 yards. I can't see your defense allowing you to get to 7 D1 wins, unless the Big Sky is really down this year.

Its ok, your hockey team has to have an intra-squad scrimmage once in a while.

I think what everybody is concerned about is your defense. You will run into some defenses that will slow your very good offense down. And since your defense can't seem to slow anybody down, that will cause problems. Yes, SDSU is an FBS team, but Portland State put up over 500 yards and they didn't exactly light it up offensively today.

And these 8 players will be punished with a fine and probation if they are convicted. Did Ralph get suspended from Attending one or two of his Nazi parties in additon to his fine and probation? Hakstol finally suspended his star player for one game of a series after a second arrest in the same year for getting in a fight in an elevator. I don't think UND coaches have a corner on the disciplne market. One game out of 40 or 50 is not real harsh.

I think the whole team speed argument is overrated. I've heard that for the last 8 years since NDSU made the jump to 1-AA and I don't think they have ever been overmatched in team speed. Maybe if they played App State, but not by any MVFC, Big Sky or even any FBS team they have palyed so far. There may be a slight difference, but not enough to make THE difference.

I agree it would be embarassing for NDSU to lose to UND. But NDSU has NOT had this game circled since the start of this year. It means more to the fans than the team. If you would give Philips the option of trading a win over UND with a win a week ago at Oral Roberts he would jump at the chance to make that trade. I do believe that UND may have had this game circled on their calendar since last years game.

It boils down to which NDSU team show up. If both teams bring their best, it is still a double digit NDSU win. If NDSU doesn't show up, UND has a shot. It means a lot more to UND than NDSU. If you were to tell Brian Jones UND could win one more game this season he would pick this one. If you told Saul Philips NDSU could win one more game this WEEK, he would say SDSU on Saturday.

Kind of like Sioux fans were ripping Southern Utah a year ago? Now they are the second coming of Duke since they are joining the Big Sky. They were worse than Mayville State when they were in the Summit.

UND is better on paper? NDSU has at least 4 players on its roster that I wouldn't trade for anyone on the UND roster (Lawrence Alexander, Taylor Braun, Marshall Bjorklund and Mike Felt). I'm not saying NDSU will win since anything can happen in any given game, but on paper talent wise it should be a 15 to 20 point NDSU win. Huff appears to be a very good athlete but not a great basketball player yet.
