The Weber State AD is absolutely ecstatic about the Bison coming to town. He is tweeting about them setting a new attendance record. Apparently a much bigger game for them than any BSC game.

Actually Mr Kuper made $1.05 million last year. Not exactly more than former Bison. That was the total amount that was guaranteed. If he hadn't agreed to the restructuring, they would have paid him the $1.05 million and cut him. But don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

But I'm sure the 1's and 2's they are targeting are schools new to FCS, have had no success in FCS, have not beaten an FBS team, play in a stadium of 12,000 and average 6,000 fans. I guess SV is right, I'm sure an FBS offer is already in the mail to Grand Forks.

That's it, Gene Taylor has been afraid to put UND on the football schedule the last ten years. I think there was some fear when the series was stopped, but that fear came from 75 miles north. As for NDSU football being #2 in the state, I see where the NDSU athletic department pocketed close to a half a million on trademark revenue from sales of athletic merchandise and are expecting to see an increase this year. Any idea of how much the UND athletic department gets from merchandise sales? I haven't seen anything published on it. Has anyone else seen this number?

Sorry, don't know him personally. He just comes off as a less than pleasant person to deal with. You can even tell on the radio after a loss that Hennessy is not quite sure if he will be on, and if he is he kind of tiptoes through the questioning. I know Joel Heitkamp (a UND alum and fan) has not had very nice things to say about him and his access to the media. Christopher Gabriel has had Mussman on every week the past couple of years during the season on the Fargo UND affiliate. He had Hak on a couple of weeks last year and then that kind of stopped. Officially it was he had a hard time working it into his schedule. Heard it may have been he wasn't thrilled with some of the questioning.

Missouri State in just football or all sports? I can't see them leaving the MVC in other sports.

How about Hak should go because of "lack of success", and yes, no Natty's in 12 or 13 years for UND hockey is lack of success, and because he is such a d#&k. Wouldn't it be nice to have a head coach that you could actually call on a radio show and ask him a question without being afraid of getting your head bitten off? Actually according to the USCHO, the last year of the old Ralph UND averaged 3,291 fans per game for men's hockey. If my memory is correct it held close to 6,000. I guess they weren't selling out back in the day.

You are right, it's not. It is however the only way to get through life if you are stuck in Grand Forks.

gfhockey is right. With all of the advantages UND hockey has over 95% of the other D1 hockey schools, a ten or more year draught without a national title would be unacceptable. With the facilities, tradition and pick of recruits, draughts like that should not happen.

And about 300 division 1 Schools have looked at hockey and said no, its not worth playing.

The highest level filled with Division 2 and 3 schools. Not every day you get to compete with St. Cloud St, RPI, Union College, Bemidji State, Mich Tech, Lake Superior St., St. Lawrence etc., unless you play Div 1 hockey.

And you do? I heard quite a bit from UND fans about Hedberg being a good candidate for the head coach at UND. Then it was speculated that he would be a good fit for an asst job after Bubba got it, now that he is at NDSU, he is a horrible coach.

Not at all, he worked with Bubba for the last 6 years. He didn't want any part of a Bubba lead program. And why weren't Bubba's defenses up to par with NDSU's the last 6 years at SIU. He was recruiting to the same conference and was in a more advantageous location to recruit to. Seems like he should have been able to put together a very stout defense.

And all you hear on this site is how great the new UND staff is. Their new OC is coming from a very mediocre (at best) D2 program. Also, in case you haven't been paying attention, Your new HC Bubba has been coaching at and recruiting to an FCS school for the past 6 years and his team and defense hasn't exactly been setting the FCS on fire. I think I would put Mr. Kleiman's defenses up against Bubba's. I think Randy Hedberg made the right choice with which coaching staffs to join.

Only standing room or a couple of hundred returned by the visiting team, which go on sale the day before the game. They sell out all available tickets in an hour the day they go on sale (Aug 1st). If they had 2 or 3 thousand more available, they would sell out too. Demand for NDSU football tickets is higher than the demand for UND hockey tickets. There could be one exception to that, but UND doesn't play the Gophers for a few more years.

But none of your remaining games are sell outs. Schlossy doesn't put his standard "in front of a sold out 11,900" in the REA in his stories anymore. If there is demand for 19,000 seats, wouldn't these game be sold out?

Nothing wrong with that. Do they display the nickel with the Bison or the Sioux Head exposed, since they have moved away from the mascot?

Why are they advertising that tickets remain before every UND hockey series? If they were sold out, why waste the money advertising? There is no way UND sells 19,000 tickets for a hockey game that doesn't include the Gophers or the Badgers, both of whom have moved on. I could buy a ticket to any remaining UND hockey game if I wanted to. If demand was high enough to sell another 8,000 tickets, I wouldn't be able to find a ticket.

Some football programs have to hold onto Division 2 trophies, while others have Division 1 trophies to display.

Give NDSU's #1 sport the same amount of home games as UND's #1 sport and NDSU sells 75,000 more tickets than UND.

Because apparently there is only one Div 1 University in North Dakota. Just ask your new volleyball coach.
