How would you feel when their goalie skated the length of the ice and deked Driscoll for # 86?
-
WMU plays well and wins it 86 - 0. UND gets its first shot on goal late in the third when the game was pretty much out of reach at 75 - 0. Good thing Driscoll was hot.

A tinge of disappointment there? -

You always want to win, but what’s at stake this weekend is minimal compared to the following weekends. -
Tim's the best, but does he still have Ole as his color guy? I just have to get past some of his habits to appreciate him.

Over the course of their careers, you want to see if these kids can play dinged up. When it's a week before NCAAs though, it's a different calculus. I suppose winning two more games against the best NCHC teams could get them a 1 seed, which would help, but they are probably not going to slip to 3 with a loss against WMU. Not sure whether there is much difference between a 2 and 3 seed, matchup wise.

While he is here, though, Kleven has to be smarter. He seems like a great kid, but he doesn't help his team sitting in the box (or locker room) thinking, "That wouldn't be called at the next level."

At least nobody would be able to know he had depends on under his breezers.

gfhockey said Caggiula put his pants on two legs at a time, whereas Costantini uses the traditional method. Never got to ask him how he knew this.

What the coaches accomplished in the WMU and UMD series alone, with that roster and at crunch time, pushes Berry over the top, IMO. -

So much goes into success, it would be fitting to call it Coaching Staff of the Year. But assistants don't take all the heat when things go badly either. -
UW has a wonderful hockey tradition; anyone who saw a game at the Dane or the Herb in the earlier years would attest to that. But their FB and BB success under Alvarez, first as coach then as AD, will keep him in good standing with the majority of Badger fans. Their football program used to be pitiful.

That and I don't recall gf ever adding content about the game of hockey itself--only about banner tallies. He may never have even watched a game in any color glasses. -
One will be 3+ goal margin

CC has a great history. I believe I recall seeing the inaugural WCHA game in the old Ralph between the Sioux and a Jeff Sauer-coached CC. But it could have been drugs and booze and STIGA hockey.

And that's as it should be. Despite the way NCAA does business, this is an institution of higher learning first, athletic team second. And hopefully that will not change.

Gotta go with Bruce. He's never wrong.

UND @ UNO -- PENNE ROSA EDITION - Friday gameday

Not only that. Losing a game at this point can be a lesson and a motivator. As long as it's not a goalie confidence thing. For instance, you beat the other guy to the puck not only are you likely to gain possession, you're probably not going to commit a penalty. I like the way these boys are coached, but they were getting beat to pucks in the third, whether they were playing conservative hockey or they just didn't have the urgency Omaha did. -
It would be nice. And I assume they are digitally recorded instantly.

Civil justice system as well. Boorish behavior is bad enough; boorish behavior that causes injury should be dealt with harshly. -
Any site with a large corporate base will have a significant attendance advantage. Turnstile count--not so much.

The boys played so well the last two weekends, and making sure they are healthy going into tournament time has got to help make those decisions conservative ones. I'm sure Berry places first priority on the medical experts, but when it's borderline, he will no doubt err on the side of long term health. Plus, if you are an elite program recruiting future NHLers, you better have the trust of players, their parents, and the NHL teams that you will protect the long term health of your players. Yeah, I know--that's all very obvious. But every once in a while a guy has to try to sound smart. Which never works. -
Congrats, Goon, on your nephew winning National Player of the Month for Feb. You gotta be proud.
