Only as many as we want. -
Does the staff have a faceoff draw coach? Probably Dane, given his playing experience?

I would say that winning such things as hockey games means a whole lot less as you grow older. You’re probably right, though, that a lot of these guys think they can and will get both. -

Seems like a strong second half will help keep major junior players currently on the roster and help convince others to come based on what current players share about UND. It’s fun to win, even when it takes a lot of hard work. Money counts, but these kids are still impressionable. How do I know that? I don’t, but it sounds pretty good. -

SOS to this point ranked 30, so they’re about to face some tough sledding. -

Yup. We’ll know a lot more even a month from now. -
As a full blood Norsky, I have to ask why anyone would expect a Swede to act rationally.
-
If I remember correctly, UND’s first home game in Ralph I was against a Jeff Sauer-coached CC team.
-
Inherent conflict for you. If CC wins, you’ll be bummed, but your chances of getting lucky will probably take a big jump. Life can be cruel that way. Or maybe that’s life being kind . . . .

As someone who started their student section days at the old barn, I can tell you that we were excited to have the new building but a little disappointed that the atmosphere was more comfortable, less active, and quieter. The on-ice product wasn’t very good in the early-to-mid-seventies, though, so there’s that. -
That’s character with a capital C. Gold. And you’re right, gf: We wanted him.

I wonder if The Eagle has put in a word for UND with Carels, being that Carels grew up a Sioux fan close to Eddie’s home town.

They’ve been recruiting The Almighty since forever.

NCHC has been the cream of the crop since its birth. So far this year, the B1G has more presence at the top, but that will hopefully change down the stretch. BU and BC are bound to show up at some point, but nobody will miss them if they don’t. Nice to go into the break with high hopes. Tougher half lies ahead. -

True (and satisfying), but the Big is very good this year, even with a teenie weenie Minnie. -
In fairness, that means Wilbur was having memory issues when it first came into use.
-
Yeah. It may be updating , but it’s a lot of work

Equally noticeable is their pinching and pushing the forecheck. They concede very little and yet they seem to maintain coverage behind. -

Which one faced better opposition? -
Yup. It’s true that you can only beat the teams you play, but the second half will be less forgiving. Denver, ASU away, UMD away, WMU away . . . along with the other usual suspects. OTOH, this is a very young team and should improve accordingly.

When I first saw your post, gf, I thought you said “We need a bong please.” I don’t know why I would think such a thing.

Every year I tend to think of Wilbur as a freshman, when he is probably old enough to get the senior discount in his tuition. -
Nice, goon.

It will be very interesting (and informative) to see how it goes this weekend.
