The boys played so well the last two weekends, and making sure they are healthy going into tournament time has got to help make those decisions conservative ones. I'm sure Berry places first priority on the medical experts, but when it's borderline, he will no doubt err on the side of long term health. Plus, if you are an elite program recruiting future NHLers, you better have the trust of players, their parents, and the NHL teams that you will protect the long term health of your players. Yeah, I know--that's all very obvious. But every once in a while a guy has to try to sound smart. Which never works.

This is true. A lot of fans from every base seem to need to be either ecstatic or pissed. Their team either wins with a great effort or loses because they did not put forth full effort. This team could get dumped in its first regional game. Even so, though, I think it's clear they care about winning and are playing close to their maximum potential. Can't expect much more than that.

If that happens Sandy will have to move in with gfhockey at his grandma's basement. Never would have thought that possible two years ago.

Sanderson seems to be a great kid and an obvious NHL talent. But it looks like the other players play with more urgency in his absence. More players are taking responsibility for the end result. If true, that's not his fault, just human nature. And it is fairly common in almost all sports, IMO. And these boys were missing 3 top talents, as you say. No question the rest of the team played with added intensity. Hopefully, they can learn from that.

Did any team in the country lose more talent than UND did coming in to this year? Then to go to possibly win the regular season title to the best conference in the country? And they are doing it by closing strong without their only top draft pick. Some serious coaching going on there. And part of that is not Xs and Os; it's getting the boys to believe in the system and play as a team. I have a hunch there are zero locker room problems with this team.

Great to see they can win that kind of game against a very good team this time of year. Have to be able to win that way to go far in NCAAs. Omaha's win last night was impressive that way.

Wisconsin hockey was a smart, fine-looking woman who lost her job and other things important to her and just let herself go. Now she doesn't look good until just before closing time. But dam, she and Sioux had some good times back in the day. The formation B1G hockey and the resulting breakup of the WCHA was bad news for a lot of schools, but with expansion to new schools, Big Ten hockey was gonna happen. Putting it on Alvarez is OK with me though.
