  1. If Idaho State would allow a higher buyout for a home (at Idaho) and home (in GF) then no one should be suprised that they aren't coming to GF. I would think that UND could have got a higher payday for a one game contract in Idaho.
  2. If true that would be a huge blow. I would have to question our administration as to why we only have a $25,000 buyout while Cal Poly's buyout is $150,000. I think it would be cheaper for them to buyout the contract than travel to Grand Forks. Makes no sense to me.
  3. My problem isn't playing them in 2009 but why agree to 2011 too, I hope that we aren't having the same scheduling issues in 2011 that we are having now.
  4. S 49 closing really amazes me. I thought it had a great nitch. My thought is that 1 of 2 things led to the closing. 1) Poor management 2) too high of a lease from UND to be profitable (at least that my undestanding is that UND owns all property on the Bronson Property and leases it to others)
  5. Solid win, congrats, and good luck against Iowa State. I'm sure that they are loving the tournament feel compared to the sporatic schedule and crazy travel.
  6. On their website it is listed as an exhibition on ours it's listed as a regular game. Which is it? I can't imagine that a game could be a regular game for one team and an exhibition for another.
  7. You can put me into the worried category.
  8. I thought they were in the 140 range. I use this link http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html
  9. Great quality in the free video thru Horizon League TV website
  10. No a 15-0 DII team that won a National Championship may be a better game than a 1-11 FCS team IMHO. I know the game out there was exciting but I think that had more to do with our second half performance than an indication of what future games will be like.
  11. do we know who the D2 is? Heck a UND vs UMD game would be better than the Idaho State game.
  12. Any news on additonal home games? Do I have this correct current we have 3 home games (USD, Poly, Idaho State)?
  13. After watching the game I have to believe that UMD may have won the league of it was the same as last year. I don't believe that they would have been undefeated but I was impressed with them. The were different this year compared to last, mainly due to a balance on offense. Remember that Northwest MO State team that they beat in the finals beat UNO 42-0 in omaha earlier in the year. In my opinion they would have lost one or at most two games with "last years" schedule and most certainly would have been in the play-offs. It obivious that UMD was much better this year than last and im not so certain that we (UND) were a little worse. Lastly, let me say congrats to UMD anyteam that can get it done at Grand Valley deserves props and to finish the deal and win a National Championship my hats off to you.
  14. Any thoughts on the VB coaching job. Did Kari do enough to get the job? It was certainly a great turn around.
  15. I'm sorry be Deer Hunting is going to win out on this one, its a family tradition. I hate to miss this game. On a different note does anyone know if Tescher will be available or does an ejection for fighting carry a one game suspension?
  16. I for the life of me can't figure out why he isn't redshirting. A five game season in the first year of the transition is not worth wasting a year of eligibility for IMHO.
  17. Our prayers are with Megan as well.
  18. Agreed, now we'll find out what DI football is all about. GO Sioux! Can't wait until Thursday.
  19. I would guess that we would have UC Davis, USD and Idaho State at home. I would hope/expect that the athletic department would be able to TWO ADDITIONAL DI-FCS games at home but I have a hunch that we will see one NSIC/DIII/NAIA home game on our schedule.
  20. Just curious, does anyone know what kind of pay day Texas A&MK, St. Cloud, UW-L, and Western Washington are getting to come and play us?
  21. I understand that the schedule is what it is and I also understand that some people are willing to support Sioux Football regardless of the opponent and some have no desire to watch a UND vs St. Cloud or UND vs UW-L. Im fine with both, I can see both sides. In fact watching UND vs St. Cloud last week I admit that I was bored by halftime. That being said it is just reaffirmation that the DI move was necessary. I do have a problem with the Athletic Department promoting the Texas A&M Kingsville as the first DI game. In my opinion we don't see DI football at the Alerus Center until Southern Utah comes to town. Don't try to market a product that isn't there. And I'm not saying not to market those games but to market them as DI football is what I have a difficult time with. Let's face it, we are playing a NCAA Division III school this saturday. We are a team with ~62 scholarships playing a team with ZERO. I will continue to support UND athletics because as many of you have stated the department needs it and the kids deserve it. But I will admit that I'm not sure that I can take many more years of this type of schedule and mix that in with UND telling me that "This is DI football" I lose my excitement. I am willing to grin and bear it and look for a much improved HOME schedule next season.
  22. Thanks Hammersmith. That was my worry, I believe a year of no organized practice or coaching will really hinder Jordans ability to have an impact for UND.
  23. In the true sense of speculation, I believe that the major issue IF Joran May is ineligible is that he is not allowed to practice with the team or use any athletic facilities (weight room, training room, ect). Maybe Hammersmith could make an appearance to let us know for sure. Even though he is a bison fan he is on of the few that I welcome posting on this messageboard.
