I'll go out on a limb and say next year he will be playing on Sundays or at least I hope so.

I wonder what kind of a pay day we will get. I would like to think it would be 300K+. But I am also a little leary about them being notorious for running up the score when they can.

The Summitt, which could lose up to two teams (Centenary to DIII and Southern Utah to the BSC), is now down to the following expansion candidates: UTPA Denver (unlikely) UND USD Utah Valley State (only if Southern Utah stays)

Don't forget the Duke Lacrosse team

Where's Hammersmith?
-
I agree if bincity is correct, there is no excuse for that schedule. No UND team should be playing Non DI teams on the road. Is someone trying to save her job, it quite possible that is the reason for the predicted vb schedule.
-
Hammersmith, I know you are a bison fan but I appreciate your insight on this issue (as well as most that you comment on). From a Sioux fan to a Bison fan THANKS!!!

Clausnitzer ties for 8th in the pole vault. Good luck to Heidi, Matt and Matt today as they try to win UND's final National Championship.

I believe that you have a 5 year clock to use 4 years of eligibility, maybe someone can confirm. So I believe that he would only have 2 years left if he were to return next year.

I think that we all understand that schedules will be difficult. I was not saying that I won't support UND or BB but for me it makes more sense to buy single game tickets to some of the games I am interested in. This may mean that I can increase my contribution to the fighting sioux club or donate to other campaigns (indoor practice facility). I am not a huge BB fan that I have an interest seeing the men or women play Mayville or Crookston, I admit it (feel free to blast me). I do have a problem with season ticket holders that do not use their tickets. It means that reservered seats (the best in the arena) aren't used. Heck look at the hockey games, there are lower bowl seats that go unused because someone or some company has season tickets and only uses a portion of them or only for a select few games (i.e MN). This isn't something that I am willing to do, but I will continue to support UND, Fighting Sioux Athletics and the BB program. I'm sorry if my post came acrossed as throwing the team under the bus, that was far from my intent.

I agree. It makes more sense to buy single game tickets to the 4 or 5 games that interest you.

The boys go 1-2 at the NCC tournament and finsih 14-23 on the year. What do you think the future has in store for baseball? What direction do you think that the new AD will go with the coaching search? What kind of a chance does Coach Pint have at getting the job?
-
Personally my thoughts go to the UND student he pulled the knife on and held it to his/her throat. As reported by WDAZ

Congrats indeed. It looks as if Women's Tennis and Men's Swimming will give us our only conference championships in our last year of DII. Great job again ladies!!!
-
I know that Griffin Callahan left after the first semester. Is anybody else aware of any defections or possible academic casulaties?
-
The ladies beat UM Crookston 2-1 on sunday. It wasn't a great game but I'm sure that the team is getting used to a new coach.
-
Keep in mind that Duncs wasn't drafted so it may be somewhat riskyier for him to return. If he gets a solid deal I think he is gone. My prediction is Osh, Kozak, Chorney, Finley, and Duncan will all go.

Here is my take on situation. The ND hiring laws invite people to apply late in the process to protect thier confidentiality. What I have a hard time with is the position was advertised as open until filled (no deadline) so therefore should still be open. If still "open" every application that comes in should be reviewed (as required by law). If there was a deadline then no additional applications should be reviewed until the search is reopened if deemed necessary by the committee. It seems that the committee has forgotten the meaning of open until filled. It wouldn't sacrifce the integrity of the search to do something that is advertised as allowed in the position announcement. Below is the position annoucement found on the UND website. http://aldenandassoc.com/what/executive/pd...nnouncement.pdf

I agree, maybe, it's just the athletic departments means to negotiate with the University so they don't have to foot the bill for the removal of the old REA. My guess is that the removal and prep of that site could be in the millions.
-
I agree that it would be crazy to build it at the Alerus Center but as for the price of real estate there keep in mind that if the were to build on the old REA site someone has to remove a building. It may actually be cheaper to aquire land on 42nd street than remove and prep the old REA for new construction.

Coach Daddy I whole heartedly agree with you
-
Actually there are a fair amount of transfers that are Coach Jones recruits.

I know UW-L beat SDSU a few years ago, but it's hard to get excited about a DIII team that was 5-4 this year. Now bring in DIII champ Whitewater and I'm a little more intrigued.

Let's face it the schedule isn't all that great, but I think we all kind of expected it. Personally, it would have been nice to have USD at home. Let's hope that attendence doesn't take a hit, but we all know that there are some fair weather fans out there.

I'm assuming that since we have't heard anything that there were no suspensions handed down. I guess there no checking in women's hockey but fista cuffs doesn't get you a suspensions.
