The post above sounds like a disclaimer to expect an NAIA, DIII, DII filled schedule. I'm hoping for better, I know it's tough but I'm hoping for 2 or 3 home DI and 2 or 3 home DII's. I guess we'll see in the next couple of days.

Much better than a "token" home game against some NAIA. This is a game is a solid home game with some history. But I would hope that their is no truth to the USD rumor. If there won't be an entire GWFC schedule played there is no way that we should play @ USD, unless of course we are playing twice.

I don't buy that he is 6' if it is true there must be some HUGE people on that field. Although I would even say that 5'8 is a stretch for W. Dressler
-
He looks even smaller than Weston, but he does look fast.

I wouldn't have a problem with a DII, but I would have a hard time showing up to watch an NAIA game. I do understand the difficulty in putting together a schedule, but I believe we'd be better off having fewer home games (in order to set up a quality home games in 09 and 10) than playing a Mayville State or Montana Tech.

To get this thread back on topic. Is anyone else worried about the state of our 2008 schedule. It's looking like our home schedule is going to be: Texas A&M Kingsville South Dakota St. Cloud Southern Utah If we lose the rumored St. Cloud game it could get interesting. I know that it is a scary thought but is there any chance that we end up with an NAIA on the schedule?

We'll I guess that I'll call it wishful thinking.
-
Well most likely the schedule will be easier, so it could be better.

We also still have Duluth in the Betty. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we sweep UMD

Friday's tickets are sold. Saturdays are still available, let me know if you are interested.

2 Tickets each night in the upper bowl. Asking $80 for entire packet, would also split them if requested. PM me if interested.

All things considered, this is a solid class. Throw in a coaching change and we have to be pleased. The only complaint could be the number (16 is fairly small) but I will take quality of quantity any day. I wonder if we will see a couple more additions in the next week or two.

Does anyone know if they have a press conference scheduled today to announce all of recruits, similiar to the one at REA last year.

I agree, I think that for most sports next years schedule will be easier than this seasons. I would assume that you can expect to see many NAIA and NSIC in Grand Forks plus a few DI transitional members (Seattle, SIU-E, Bryant, ect). One the road I would expect mid to low majors with an occasional interesting match-up. As for the winning % for women's BB, I'll go with 87%

I can't find it on the online Herald, but a little blurb on the soccer search says that they should be interviewing this week or next. They have a total of 14 applicants, one of which is Kristen Gay the current assistant coach. I am a little surprised that only 14 people applied.
-
Interesting that Barbra Burke (one of our quality applicants) is mentioned in the article as a finalist for the Eastern IL AD job.

I truly feel that they need to move away from double headers as much as possible. I for one can't stand to sit at the Betty for 4 hours at a time but would go to two full games if they were on different days, and this is in an arena that has soft seats. I'm a little disappointed in myself and am starting to wonder how I did it back in Hyslop days.
-
Congrats to Coach Jones and the men. Hopefully this got the monkey off their back and they can go on a roll.
-
Don't worry, we won't have the NCC schedule next year so I'm sure we'll have enough DAC and lower tier NSIC games to have a solid record.

Does anyone want to guess when you will be able to puchase and use Apple's iPhone in ND? That's what I am holding out for.

And let's not forget that although not publicly funded that Mary and Jamestown provide 4 year options too. I do agree that at some point the Sbohe will have to look at the practicality of having so many 4 year institutions. I would also be in favor of leaving Dickinson as a 4 year school because of where it is located (west) and it's ability to draw students from eastern MT and WY.

WOW. I guess that means the we all pretty much lose the prediciton game or all win depending on how you look at it.

I'll take my shot. 3 Names Long Kelly Smith
