  1. If he can't make the top 12 on our team, the best place he should be is at UND getting an education.

...and attendance is going up in football, not down like WIH even when most tickets were free.
  3. I'm kind of surprised Borgen hasn't signed. Would have thought he or Schuldt would have signed before Cholowski.
  4. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=26643 Yeah, there is information missing from his predecessor as well.

  6. May appear underwhelming now, but then again, many people said the same thing when they hired assistant coach Gino Gasparini. Usually you don't hire an assistant coach if things aren't going well, but Gasparini became the cog in turning the program around and to our current success with the litany of coaches that followed. By the way, I know you know this, but just saying the results will tell the tale.

Yeah, isn't pork barrel spending her job as a Senator to bring in money for a bridge to nowhere. Well she should be able to bring it in for a hockey team to nowhere. And we wonder why our taxes go up!
  8. But if Jost sticks around and leaves and plays for the World Juniors, and then however long they decide the Olympic team trains together, you might have lost him from early December until after the Olympics. Sure you always like having someone that skilled, but the continuity wouldn't be that great. It will be interesting to see who will end up playing in the Olympics, and if it is college guys, when does camp start for the Olympics.
  9. Yeah, to be sure there are plenty of guys that can't carry over that production to the next level even after an adjustment period. Needing some of these players to produce early makes your plea all the more relevant.
  10. Kawaguchi with a hat trick after two periods tonight.
  11. Another thing is UND paid for her education which isn't cheap. How often was she out of the lineup over her years here playing for the Canadian National team. Would imagine some of those games missed hurt our chances for the NCAA tournament, but then again UND's program was around to get players on National teams.
  12. Yeah, they said some team allotments were returned. Hard to believe that a team wouldn't be able to sell their allotment.
  13. I still go back to the question of how some people on here were certain this was going to happen, but Idalski had no clue?. Yes, they were a top ten program every year, but people were becoming more and more disinterested. When you're not scoring many goals, and there is no physical play, it just isn't exciting to watch.
  14. Yeah, like your argument that UND should have women's hockey regardless of it being a black hole is a sound argument on it's own.
  15. Oh, I think you have a pretense of having virtuous character, but in reality it is about what's good for you at the time.
  16. So you're saying 10 years ago you would have felt the same as most of us. Nice that you can admit you're a hypocrite and are only looking out for number one. Guess that is what the University is doing as well.
  17. I don't think that anyone thinks he is going to flop, so I don't see how him getting paid and starting on his first contract is going to be his downfall. He may not be as dominant as he would have been if he waited another year, but I think he'll be just fine.
  18. They haven't found a way to work around it for Major Juniors, but you can bet that it will be a different story for something they deem politically correct.
  19. They should be ashamed that they have made it impossible for women to play in the Olympics and still keep their college eligibility.
  20. They said yesterday that everybody on the Avs was in the minus category, but Jost isn't, so he is more than holding his own so far, even though he hasn't added a lot offensively. Did their complete aversion to college players until recently play a part in their demise?
  21. But if those people weren't Champion Club members, you also get that extra money. Plus I believe they are increasing the money required for each level of the club.
  22. Bruins sign JFK from Boston University.
  23. Agree with Yzerman in having heavy lineups when necessary and more speed and skill when needed. I love the energy and speed when both Yon and Bowen are together, and if Hoff is in with them, that line can fly.
  24. My point was more about people looking at Jones's numbers and assuming he would be the odd man out of the 3 guys coming in. Just saying that there are so many more variables to who will end up playing the most.
  25. It's really tough to say how people adjust to the next level and what their new roles will be. If you went strictly by numbers, Easton Brodzinski should have been playing for St. Cloud before Bowen played at UND, but Bowen fulfilled a role we needed. Jones knows what to expect from college hockey, and even though Kawaguchi put up bigger numbers, they both put up about the same percentage of their teams goals, 35 percent for Kawaguchi, and 33 percent for Jones. The fact that they are both Captains, says a lot about their standing on their current teams. I suspect both will see quite a bit of action, but if they don't, it means some guys stepped up their games a bit from last year. Can't complain if that happens. Bottom line is while the real high end guys might not be here, the competition for ice time is going to lift the level of play for everybody else.
