  1. Did you like that he thought the coaching staff could do no wrong, and never called them out when the team was underperforming? I like someone who will at least have some critical eye to what is happening. Not saying he has to be super critical, but a little objectivity would be nice.
  2. …and still no Chipotle!
  3. Have Lindberg and MacKenzie already for next year at defense.
  4. I’m guessing that Pilgrim is more likely to join Shaugabay in Duluth.
  5. We’ve seen that many players develop slower than others, and some that are studs when they are young quit developing. With that being the case, you need to be recruiting at all levels of development, so to not recruit any leagues that are part of that development process is ludicrous.
  6. The point is that coaches explore talent from everywhere and they don’t just look at stats like you do. The problem this program ran into was moving away from their model of getting guys that are willing to work hard regardless of their talent level. It seems to me like this coaching staff is turning over every stone to find a player, even if it is only a depth add that people are freaking out about. So Berry basically just had the program recruit players without doing the legwork, and now the new staff is exploring all players and people have a problem with it?
  7. Yeah, why watch a league that has had players like Connor Gaarder, Paul LaDue and Tucker Poolman. Those are only UND guys. Tons of great college and pro players started there.
  8. I am sure a lot of people said the same things about guys like Connor Gaarder and Stephane Pattyn. I am sure this is a depth add, but you absolutely need heart and soul players. That is what has been missing lately in my eyes. Tell you one thing, a lot of these guys are captains, so hopefully you don’t have to use the play a full 60 phrase as much. We had guys like Perron and McLaughlin with a ton of talent, but they would disappear frequently.
  9. For sure could be a candidate, but a lot of competition for that top 6.
  10. Speaking of convert, where can you exchange U.S. dollars to Canadian dollars without a bank taking a huge share of the conversion?
  11. He knew he would always be known as the other Grand Rapids Casey if he came here, so he went where he could make a name for himself.
  12. Coming from fans of a program that are proud to have a rodent as their mascot!
  13. Hawks is great unless you like opponents calling you Hawksuckers. See how that works? Most adults aren’t worried about what immature people conjure up to insult them, that’s why they are rivals.
  14. We do need a mix of guys to mix in with the one or two year players, and this guy seems to fit the bill. Sounds like a little bigger Stecher type, and I would take that in a heartbeat.
  15. With Boeser and Nelson, we should be the University to go to for a Brock!
  16. When does Schlossman come out with his list of targets before the August 1 date? List might look a lot diffferent than it did before CHL guys were part of the mix.
  17. Yes, it was more in response to our new uniforms not being as flashy as our arena.
  18. Maybe the program needs to worry less about being flashy and more about getting back to the basics.
  19. Wasn’t a fan of them then and not enthralled with them now. In fact signed petitions back then to get the Blackhawk logo back. Those days are gone, but if the players and future recruits are good with this jersey style, and if we can be better than how mediocre we were wearing them back then, they might grow on me a little more.
  20. Curious to see who had input in these jerseys. Were some players consulted, and are they excited for them?
  21. Hopefully our success is better wearing them now than when they were originally worn and the subsequent Nashville debacle.
  22. Maybe not injury prone in the sense his body can’t take the stress, but just by the way he plays the game all out, blocking shots and taking hits for the team, it makes him susceptible to more injuries. Kind of like the running back that won’t go out of bounds and would rather deliver a hit himself rather than do so.
  23. You don’t say!
  24. Agree, it’s not like we haven’t made due with depth players in the past if we run into injury problems. Remember needing to move Dan “Jim” Senkbeil to forward when we ran into injury issues? Not ideal, but it beats hamstringing yourself for the possibility of landing future elite talent.
  25. Yeah, don’t settle for a back up plan to the elite guys who still has 3 years left. Keep options open for future CHL elites after Reschny and Verhoff can get the word out.
