It says that his dad is Corey McKinnon, not Kevin, so not sure how he is tied to UND, as Kevin is the only McKinnon I can find playing hockey at UND. Maybe some other ties to Grand Forks or the University.

Craig Button has Verhoeff at #3, Carson Carels at #6, Cooper Williams at #19, and Mathis Preston at #25. Carels and Preston have been talked about as potential. Surprised Carels was above Lin and Rudolph.

Hopefully this is the start of good things. Maybe baby steps for Jerry as well, as he finally drove us down the field and delivered on the two point conversion, only to lose in overtime. Hopefully that helps the confidence in those situations moving forward.

Yeah, it’s got to be tough getting super excited about a game the fans don’t care about that much when it is mid season and the stats don’t count. I can see the same fans complaining about an injury that could possibly take place in that game because a player was going all out hitting the opposition. You actually hear people on this site say they just hope nobody else gets hurt in this game. Some people want to have it both ways. I certainly didn’t see any of our players shying away from hits and had a better focus than I have seen in a long time for a meaningless game in the grand scheme of things, other than some players having a chance to show the coaches something.

It is curious how we go from an up the gut play against the Bison on 4th down with the game on the line, to a low percentage bomb to the end zone against SDSU. Nothing in between to choose from? Is Isaac going to get indignant again and say he would do the exact same thing as he did about the 3 failed attempts at the goal line against the Bison?

You said we are a lock and they will take 7 MVFC teams, so we should be in then.

Here’s something, if your offense doesn’t produce and your defense figured it out at halftime, don’t turn the ball over a couple times and make the defenses job more difficult.

There should be enough kickers around to recruit one who can do that.

Really thought he would be a difference maker this year based on his output at Duluth and power play success and watching him against us. I wonder if part of that is who fed him on the power play. That said, he is pretty responsible, and is a good fit for our 4th line, and hopefully he starts to finish in the second half. If he would have his head up a little more, his speed has created opportunities to feed his linemates on rushes, but everyone can’t have the vision of Swanson. Having a fourth line that can hit and skate sure makes it tough on our opponent though, being able to roll them out consistently, which may be helping out our third period success. Still very happy to have him, and think he will produce a bit more going forward.

Remember Phil Housley’s South St. Paul team wore those I think at the state tournament. Clear hockey boards and Cooperalls, very unique things for the viewing audience.

Don’t know, but hopefully he develops better than Harrison Blaisdell, Ethan Bowen, and Bowden Singleton did after they were highly touted. Hopefully just a learning curve before he gets comfortable and develops at that level.

Who do we think, Arizona State, BC, BU?

Wondering if he knows there has been contact with some of these guys, or just throwing out names that most elite programs will be focusing on.

Strathmann is 3rd on the team in +/-, behind Strinden and Croal, so he seems more focused on his defense so far.

After listening, I didn’t hear Peyton Kettles, but Giorgos Pantelas of Brandon that Schlossman mentioned.

Kettles is a Penguins draft pick, and will be having shoulder surgery on Friday.

That’s a good point, and it is how the analytics should be used. They are more of an overview than something that should be looked at with a small sample size. I don’t think greens in regulation is always going to dictate the score you shoot in golf, but over the long run, you will shoot better scores with more greens in regulation.

Brock Schultz has now scored in back to back games. Maybe he is getting different opportunities in Sioux Falls.

I like how the announcer says “that’s why this is the best rivalry in college hockey.”Generally a great rivalry isn’t a one sided affair that doesn’t have a history of hotly contested post season matches.

It amazes me that the same people that lamented Duluth’s dominant run years ago, are worried about a regular season loss to a team we badly outplayed. Duluth hasn’t won a league title in over 30 years, so their reputation wasn’t based on any wins or losses during the regular season. This team will ultimately be judged on what they do in the post season, provided they make the tournament. The reason Berry isn’t here right now is based mostly on the lack of post season success, not regular season.

We’ll see if this team is different against Bemidji, as veteran UND teams have a hard time scoring against them. May need to win 2-1, as Bemidji will be a lot tougher than a young Arizona State team. Take the week off and get healthy, and then be prepared to slug out a couple wins to improve our NPI.
