  1. ESPN transfer list... http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/jeff-goodman/post/_/id/4899/top-10-transfers-and-complete-transfer-list&ex_cid=InsiderTwitter_GoodmanTransferList2015March?refresh=true
  2. SMU would have been huge, probably a 12 but they should be happy getting G-Town. That to me is almost as good as getting a 5-12 match up, G-Town is overrated. I have no clue how they are seeded higher than UNI.
  3. The Big Sky had nothing to do with it, EWU had a great OOC schedule and got a huge win. NDSU getting a 12 last year was similar, great OOC schedule and some nice wins. NDSU didn't really do much in the OOC this year and were punished for it. Do well in conference play and against a great OOC schedule will mean good things if you get into the dance.
  4. I don't think there is a difference between either conference for basketball. There are no recognizable names in either conference really, no Gonzaga or Wichita State's. I don't think kids really care where they travel to, they mostly want to play high level competition and both conferences offer the same ability to schedule power five schools in non-conference. Neither conference has a high level basketball program, both are one bid leagues. Really for recruiting you are mostly looking at relationship with the coach, academic major, style of play, program tradition, facilities, and perhaps location could play a bit of role but it is probably further down the list.
  5. All I am saying if the committee had an issue with athletic scholarships, they could have put money toward that instead. They could have just flat out denied all of them, like they denied other requests. I don't think NDSU intentionally did anything, other then try to get their full share of the money available.
  6. If it was clear, then why weren't they denied? It wasn't for a great sum of money and other things were denied by the committee, so I don't think denying these things would create a big issue. In fact NDSU's requests exceeded what the state could match when it was all said and done. The fact that nobody objected to this seems to make me think a lot of people here are trying to create a controversy that does not exist and never existed outside of Rob Port's sayanythingstupid blog.
  7. I wouldn't connect Port to UND, he is just bomb throwing far right loon that people give way too much publicity to. He hates all of higher education, NDSU is just his favorite whipping boy.
  8. I don't have a single issue with it, as long it is going for student scholarships and not some coaches salary or a building. Mountain out of a molehill, which is Rob Port's forte.
  9. The foundation put in the extra $3 million to get the ball rolling, construction costs kept on accelerating and after the president's house debacle NDSU doesn't want to come in over budget again. The school has been very cautious with this project because of that fact. In most states NDSU would have used bonds and would be playing in the renovated SHAC right now but ND has to do everything the hard way.
  10. Billy Turner was a Big 10 player straight out of high school, the guy started as a true freshman. The coaches were amazed they got him, any Bison fans that try to convince themselves otherwise are fooling themselves. No chance Kill lets him leave the state, Billy was a classic example of Brewster not being able to evaluate talent that doesn't have four or five stars next to his name. If he lived in Wisconsin or Iowa, those coaches don't let him leave the state. Kill has been doing a solid job at keeping these players, Ben Lauer would be one example.
  11. Polls aren't a big deal, if NDSU wins out they will be a 1 or 2 seed. CCU has some things to worry about seedingwise with no FBS game and no top 25 wins. Looking like a 3 to 5 seed to me.
  12. It was kind of heated for a while, SDSU beat NDSU three straight times from 2007-2009 but now SDSU losing 5 straight to NDSU has kind of taken the steam out of things. Not sure NDSU really has a rival in football at the moment.
  13. Agreed and that is where they have sunk their resources as of late with the new arena and Craig Smith. Once SDSU gets their new football stadium online, USD's facilities will be much closer to NSIC schools then their Dakota FCS brethren.
  14. The basketball schools run the MVC, they fear the whole Big East fiasco happening to them in regards to football. Doubt the MVC expands past 10. Too many conflicting interests in that conference, anything beyond 10 would have to be a slam dunk like say SLU and I don't see that happening. If MSU leaves they add a basketball school.
  15. If you want Al gone then Pamela Anderson should be getting your votes... http://pamela4nd.com/2014/04/10/pamela-anderson-announces-candidacy-north-dakota-democratic-npl-endorsement-district-41-house/
  16. I get what you are saying but GSU was probably the worst Sun Belt team you could have picked since we kind of have a long distance love affair with them. They came to the dome twice in the playoffs, Bison fans would love to play GSU every year. The others probably not so much.
  17. Right now NDSU buses to USD and SDSU, that is it. So yeah things wouldn't change much.
  18. I think Herby is somewhat wrong. If NDSU gets the right opportunity they should go, if not they should stay. I am not sure if the Sun Belt is the right opportunity, I guess though if it did happen the other sports could stay in the Summit which would keep costs down. A major issue looming for NDSU football is the fact that the program can not find FBS opponents to play them. That will hurt recruiting, exposure and revenue if it doesn't change.
  19. UNI was 7-5 last year, they beat a Big 12 team and crushed a seeded playoff team. Hard to have a stronger resume then that, instead the committee went with powder puff South Carolina State who beat nobody of significance.
  20. 7-5 teams do not make the playoffs, see UNI from last year. That said maybe you could get there if Molberg and your offense can figure things out. The sky is very soft at the middle and bottom this year. and your defense is playing with an edge.
  21. The MVFC is in the pilot phase right now, which means that replay is only at certain venues. WIU for example doesn't have it. Next year though it will be expanded conference wide.
  22. Well the week before they were blown out by Utah and before that Notre Dame shut them out. Michigan was better under Rich Rod then they are now, at least then they had a dynamic offense.
  23. Well the MVFC has video review....Get with the times Big Sky.
  24. A case could be made that they will have the best football facilities I guess. Their IPF sounds amazing and they are building a new stadium. That said Frost is starting to show its age. I'd still put them behind both NDSU and UND.
  25. But it would be less accessible, right now NDSU can blanket its home region with games that can be easily watched and with Midco that isn't as easy. The Summit has a TV deal with Midco, which means NDSU gets a few basketball games put on their network, KVLY also televises some basketball games on their main network(it isn't all MeTV). I don't think basketball is really hurting that much. I'm not saying NDSU wouldn't move to Midco but to get NDSU to move, Midco would have to step up with a very solid offer.
