So Bresciani has a goal to make NDSU AAU ....
FargoBison replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Community
According to the chancellor he didn't really break the policy. Our backwards legislators don't like the policy and the chancellor is going to change it for them. If I wrote the policy it would say presidents can fly business class for long flights(that seems to be standard for our peer universities). -

Other ND university presidents I guess might but nationally not so much. Many colleges and universities(especially the size of NDSU) have policy that states for international travel business class is allowable. So yeah, that is backwards and it embarrassing that he is getting called out for it. -

I wouldn't question it even if it was UND's president, in fact I would defend it just the same. Show me true misuse of public funds and I will get upset, but this is just silly. Tired of Skarpohl's witch hunts that serve no purpose but make the state look like some backwater. -

So should he send a note to himself, approving his own travel expense upgrade? I get the complaining if he pulled a Chapman esque DC trip but this is just stupid. Business class should be the policy for either president of NDSU or UND. Their time is worth something, common sense that they travel in the most effective manner to get work done. -

This story is embarrassing. He flew business class to India, big deal. I'm sure this stupidity will help UND's president search, nice that they all get a first hand look at how backwards this state is. Brescian's time is worth something, he needs to get work done while traveling and when he hits the ground, not going to happen in coach. -
The bozos in the legislature even attack NDSU for having too many MN students, which is ridiculous. I do think a previous president put too much focus on international students, they are not a bad thing at all and I do think a research universities like NDSU and UND should be recruiting them. Diversity is a good thing, having very intelligent students to do research and teach is a good thing. I do think there needs to be a layer of regulation in regards to recruiting them and how much is spent but it is sad that attracting these students has turned into a negative.

I know McFeely loves to rile people up but he also made a great point in calling him out. There is a group of legislators that are stuck in the past and clueless as to what the state needs to do in the modern world. Skarpohl is their poster child. He is embarrassing but sadly so are most of politicians in this state so even when he is retired I don't hold out much hope in things changing.
-
1975? Don't give them that much credit. The clueless legislators from the west are still stuck in the 1950s. They are embarrassing, McFeely who I usually can't stand had a great article about Skarpohl today.

I am not sure on the Summit contract but it is with ESPN, so it might have the same issues. I expect NDSU will move to deal with ESPN like IUPUI and ORU have for hoops, they pick up the broadcast from a local media outlet and put it on ESPN3 and/or ESPN College Extra.
-
The MVFC media contract does not allow for NDSU to broadcast games on FSN, so it would be pointless to send them an RFP.

The SLC is a very top heavy conference, they added a lot weak schools when they expanded and they are still trying to establish themselves. McNeese, UCA and SHSU usually have solid teams though, SHSU has been to the semifinals or title game in four of the past five seasons. They probably have a title or two if it wasn't for NDSU.

I think a lot of the blame for WBB at NDSU falls on Lynn Dorn's shoulders. She just seemed to put way too much stock into thinking Dehoff could do it and spent too long hoping her hire would work out. A lot of AD's make that mistake and it is a costly one.
-
There is no bigger exposure bomb then going on a run in the dance. Just winning a game brought NDSU a ton of exposure, can't even imagine how crazy a sweet 16 run would be. Hoops is where it is at and that is what amazes me with your AD, he has just left your program be a tire fire even though you play in a conference that is ripe for the taking.

UNI-NDSU ESPN CSU-JSU ESPN2(Friday night)

Quarterfinal TV ratings have been released... UNI-NDSU: 1.644 million CSU-JSU: 546k

Jones might be the worst coach in the Dakotas....including high schools. Can't believe he is still there, he makes Muss look like Bill Belichick. Maybe your AD just doesn't care about hoops...I have no idea but it is sad. Amazed NDSU won after missing so many free throws. But this team finds ways to wins, coaching helps a lot.

I can't see two teams not bidding, it is rare that a team doesn't bid. Like another poster said the minimum is a very low bar to reach. If it happened I wonder if the NCAA would contact the schools and work it out from there.
-
UNI cannot play SDSU, cannot have a conference rematch in round 1. The bids are also sealed until the field is set.
-
Yeah, looks like your game is the last one on the FCS slate so you should know just where you stand. Nova is another team to watch out for, if they beat JMU they would have three wins over playoff teams. Lose and they are done.
-
Right or wrong it doesn't matter much, SUU either wins and gets the autobid or is out of the field with only 6 DI wins and zero impressive wins. SOS doesn't mean a ton to the committee unless it is either very strong or very weak. Impressive wins carry more weight, you guys should be the biggest PSU fans in the country on Saturday. Gets rid of EWU and that beefs up your big win a well.

Direct has Fox College Sports.

The Summit would be a great fit for UND. A conference tournament in a regional location, regional rivals, it is on a similar level with the Big Sky in every sport. I can't even imagine how rough travel is for the non-football sports. Bus to Fargo, fly to a hub airport and then connect and probably more busing after that....then you do it all over again on the way back to GF. Travel savings alone would probably fund a big chunk of FCOA. The MVFC is a different beast of course, the eastern schools would need to be appeased but if the Big Sky let you become a football only affiliate that wouldn't matter.
-
The game is also ESPN College Extra...Channel 795 Direct TV if you have the sports pack.

Morlock did nothing wrong, that fan should be banned from the stadium. Everyone here would push some drunk fool off of them if they were in the same situation.

Title Nine: Our Prong is Bigger Than Your Prong
FargoBison replied to Hammersmith's topic in Other Sports
Most of the G5 will do it. The ones that don't, won't be competitive. NDSU isn't going to jump its football up and not do everything possible to be competitive. FCOA would be mandatory in that scenario.
