  1. I'm sure Midco would love to get NDSU athletics but the check they would be cutting to get it would be large. NDSU football pulls in massive ratings in Fargo and statewide, KVLY has been very good to NDSU as well. Right now everyone in ND and northwestern MN that has a TV can watch NDSU football, that is hard to move away from.
  2. For one...since when did Montana join the FBS? I don't think Fulerton has enacted Siouxvolley's master plan yet. Also Oregon did bad things to USD, UNI played very competitive games with their FBS opponents. Neither is on Oregon's level obviously but hard to knock a team for being very competitive. I have them at #14 in my AGS poll btw and it wouldn't be hard to make a case to rank them higher.
  3. Every game is sold out and on TV. Fans are paying record ticket prices and a high premium just to tailgate. The scheduling model of buying home games has worked well and he only needs to find one more game for 2015 and one for 2016. He doesn't need to schedule the game, he can be selective as to who he wants to play.
  4. Because Gene has zero motivation to schedule the game right now. NDSU holds all the cards and if UND wants to get back on his good side they give a little to make it happen. But like I said before both sides have too much pride to give up anything and a playoff game is the only way a game will be played.
  5. The H&H with Weber only happened because we had six home games for 2014 and needed to bank one for 2015. It was an opportunity created by being able to play 12 games this year and didn't happen until it was clear we didn't need another home game. I do agree Gene doesn't want to play the game, he is making an offer that he knows BF and Bubba won't accept. That said he has to make an offer or Bismarck might schedule the game for him. I think the only way for the game to happen is if it is a playoff game or UND gives up something in return(like by accepting a 2 for 1).
  6. Both schools are great, both alumni bases raise a ton of money and both schools have academic and athletic accomplishments to be proud about. Saying that isn't so hard, not sure why it is so tough for other people. I've never understood why people feel the need to tear each other down academically, it is just stupid. As for the game, be mad at Gene but he is only doing what he thinks is best for NDSU. That is his job and he has done it well. Take his offer, don't take it, whatever I don't care. Both schools have too much pride to give any ground so the only way this happens is a playoff game.
  7. No strings attached with playing Montana, no pressure to schedule them ever again if we don't want to. That isn't the case with UND and it will never be the case.
  8. I am not sure why it is so hard to understand that NDSU's scheduling philosophy means that we play very few home and homes. The entire model is built around paying teams to come to Fargo for one game. Occasionally a home and home is sprinkled in when it involves a team of interest(Montana) or the opportunity presents itself to play a home and home in a 12 game season and still have six home games(Weber State).
  9. We played twice, had a home and home. Only so many non-conference games we can schedule Darell, opportunities are limited because we want six home games and one FBS
  10. We had six home games already locked up, that gave us the opportunity to find a home and home that started on the road so we could bank a home game for a future season. This isn't that difficult. We want six home games and an FBS game every year. That is the goal. The home and home with Weber State was a means to get closer to that objective.
  11. Why should it haunt GT? Weber is one of the schools that helped us out in our time of need when we needed games during transition. The fact that we already had 6 home games locked up created a home and home opportunity, I'm glad we worked out a deal with them. NDSU has honored every contract, not sure Gene has much to worry about in regards to credibility.
  12. The Summit is very solid in softball, worlds better than the Big Sky. Summit baseball is a mess, but Oral Roberts will fix that at least at the top.
  13. Wrestling, Lacrosse, Hockey, FCS football....it is all DI. The NCAA designates them all as being DI. Not sure why this needs to be so complicated for some people.
  14. Well it is hard to play him over LA, Brown or Braun. But when he played he constantly showed flashes of being capable of doing some good things, I think he will flourish with minutes.
  15. Send Tony an email or PM, I'm sure he will take care of it.
  16. Darell I have to admit the parody account is kind of funny. Whoever started it definitely got the response they wanted since you started this thread.
  17. Darell I'm not sure if you are the person that should be talking about obsessions, especially Bisonville.
  18. When he gave his verbal I think there was a good chance he could have seen early playing time. Nobody knew how Dupree was going to progress and then Paul Miller has a huge year. Coaches can't predict the future.
  19. I don't think he was dumped, I think he just found a better situation to see playing time sooner and play in his home metro area. He should play right away at CSP, he wasn't going to get that opportunity at NDSU, This is the only player I can remember in a long time that didn't end up coming after signing his NLI. So it isn't like we dump players, from my understanding it was mutual.
  20. He looked promising early but he didn't progress as hoped. Better chance for him to play at Concordia St Paul, especially early. Paul Miller looks to be the big steal.
  21. Not sure, that number is tied to advertising sales.
  22. A few people complained? So what? Some people watched the meaninglessness practice and NDSU is happy. That is what KVLY cares about. Like I said NDSU football is big ratings, it is the biggest media prize in the state. If NDSU wants a few basketball games and the spring game televised you do it.
  23. Because NBC ND knows a good relationship with NDSU is much more lucrative than some meaningless playoff game that involves two teams nobody in ND cares about. Hate to break it to you. The ratings NDSU football delivers in the fall are absolute gold for NBC ND.
  24. I'm not even sure if this excludes football. The power conferences have an agreement with the other conferences that gives them access to bowls and college football playoff revenue for the next 12 years.
  25. The top 5 conference will never allow that. They own FBS football, they control it and can do whatever they want. The NCAA doesn't care and the bottom five conferences don't care as long as they can still be in the same room and share one seat at the table. Grow the playoff to 20 teams and at best maybe you get one or two teams in that isn't from a top 5 conference. That is the reality of FBS football and that reality isn't ever going to change. This isn't like NCAA basketball where the little guys drive up tournament TV ratings. Nobody really cares about the little guy when it comes to football.
