I don't think GT really cares about what UND is doing. If he went external he said he would make a hire in 7-10 days. He also said he didn't want to move backwards in what he was paying a coach or his assistants. NDSU hired a head soccer coach externally in 8 days. So obviously it can be done on that time frame at our school, not sure what is going on at UND that it would have to be this difficult. Maybe Faison just couldn't get the guy he wanted to commit.

So is it true that Caruso was never contacted? Doubt there was ever a more perfect hire for your head coaching position.

RPI needs another month to solidify. Kenpom would probably more accurate if you want to look at a rating system right now.

NDSU made a external hire for a soccer coach a few years ago.. the search lasted all of 10 days. I am not sure if these rules are as inflexible as some seem to think.

Well they are things I have read here and they are a bit bizarre because if any of them happened to UND you guys would be going crazy and rightfully so. Notre Dame is 246-10 at home since 2006-2007(4th best in the NCAA) and they've been in the big dance the past 4 seasons. Add on the fact the game was on ESPNU and it is a big deal. It isn't Wisconsin or Marquette big but it is big nonetheless.

Our FBS wins suck...our win vs an ACC team in basketball sucks...our JV FCS national titles suck....I guess it is easy to say these things suck when you haven't accomplished a single one of these things.

I doubt it. Bohl will bring in his own OC. He kept Gus when he took over the NDSU job but somebody else took over as DC.

He is the DC at Nevada now. He got off the Lane Kiffen ship before it sunk. I listened to GT tonight and it sounded like some of the names being throw around the media aren't too far off base.

I never said Faison needed to call a press conference, I said the Herald needs to do its job. Hence calling them inept. It wasn't like the DUI happened in some far away state, it was right in GF. But looking back I would have liked to see an initial stiffer punishment from Faison other than just a verbal reprimand and telling him to never do it again or he is fired. At the very least the coach should have been suspended without pay for a week or so. Yes, DUI or no DUI if you are driving a car with student athletes in it and are visibly intoxicated your coaching career is finished. There are no second chances for that offense.

An assistant wrestling coach got a DUI a few years ago...he was suspended for five days without pay and was told another DUI and he is done. Oh and it was all over the media as well. I don't think there was a cover up...the GF media is just inept.

You guys are the ones comparing what Beck did to a guy that has had multiple bar fights that the police needed pepper spray to break up. Like I said I have no issue with how the first minor was handled, the resisting charge was dropped. If Travis wanted to he could have beat the second resisting charge in court, he had a strong case.

I have said multiple times here that NDSU got that one wrong. Beck's issue though was handled appropriately.

What are you talking about? No player is going to be suspended for a minor that occurred in the summer.

Beck was suspended until the facts came out and the charge was dropped.

I think SDSU beats NAU but their season ends on the red turf.

The top seed does get a bye this year in the Summit tournament so the regular season is a bit more meaningful.

I don't think BB has really proven he has tremendous upside. He might have it but it is hard to say based on his inexperience. I do agree with people who say if never would have lived in GF....nobody here is saying a word about him.

It does, but it absurd to compare CK and BB. The guy was groomed for four years under Sumlin and he worked his way up the ladder while working under him. BB has been a assistant coach for one year at the college level. Picking him is a lot riskier.

About three years of being an offensive coordinator. CK wasn't just an OC but he was an OC at a SEC school, that is bigtime. Beating Bama gets a guy noticed.

He has done some great things...Played a big role in getting Joe Mays and Steve Walker to NDSU back in the day. Was a solid OC at USD and has won three D3 coach of the year awards and took his team to the national title game last year. He is a proven successful head coach that knows the region. Hey but go ahead and hire a guy that has never been a coordinator at any level...that really worked out for Minnesota and some guy named Tim Brewster.

At least the VB team has hope, they went young and have won a few matches. The BB team though has none, the team wouldn't even have a winning record in the NSIC. They are that bad, just a completely unwatchable product.
