  1. That doesn't make alot of sense because by the time UND gets NDSU at home it would be 2011 and scheduling woes would be a thing of the past. As we all know the first two games would probably be at the Fargodome, which would be just fine with UND and its fans. (...and way to compare last years Bison team to our first year transition team that just got 58 scholarships for the first year. Takes real balls to do that).
  2. I love your posts-all the same. We are 6 months in to the transition and you repeatedly state how the "transition isn't going well". If this situation "isn't going all that well" ---you better hope it doesn't get better for NDSU's sake. I just wish that one time NDSU fans would go back and look at their schedules and results in Year 1 of the transition.
  3. I highly doubt it is going to happen, the Bison have nothing to gain by playing us. As I have stated before, all of this momentum and hype they built up over the last 5 years would be completely gone with a loss to us in our second year of the transition. The have told their fan base how much better they are now and how much better the competition is now, which is true. But, a loss to an 'inferior' team who happens to be their biggest rival ( ) would be devestating to their entire program. Their would be a full city wide suicide watch in Fargo. With that being said, if the game was played NDSU should win without a doubt but Gene Taylor is not dumb enough to take that chance. Also, the other reasons with the nickname, etc.
  4. Once again your missing the point of what others have stated. Since you like to compare things to NDSU, I will do the same. In the first year, they red-shirted their first class of recruits thinking that they could be pretty good, to build their strength, talents, etc. The existing players they had were marginal at best and did what they could but were not very talented. UND is doing the exact same thing, we are red-shirting 7 players in hopes that they will be the cornerstone of this program for the next 4 years. The existing players are D2 level players at best as you noticed by the scores and they are taking us through this first year with the assumption that by adding in those young red-shirts next year, we are going to get a good solid lineup on the floor as time goes on. Does this make sense now why the product is not up to your standards? Think of it this way, just because the AD told you we are D1 doesn
  5. Oxbow, As was stated in this thread previously, during their first year of transition NDSU played all the same teams we are playing now: Moorhead SWMS Jamestown Concordia Dakota Wesleyan Crookston (2x) Si Tanka Huron Mayville St Upper Iowa They did not beat one D-1 team the entire year, only transitionals. Wisconsin and Marquette were in the years after that. You need to settle down and deal with the transition. The schedule is obviously going to get a lot better but they will always be playing an NAIA to fill the schedule. NDSU still plays NAIA teams (Mayville and Valley City State) and they are in their 5th year out. If you don
  6. True. But, a member of the past AD's regime who did the scheduling is still a member of this current regime.
  7. UND will not be playing Sioux Falls College in 2011. It must have been included for logistics or some other reason.

    Wow

Those are two pretty important positions aren
  9. UND has Poly and USD at home and is going out to UC-Davis and SUU. That is the latest I heard and makes sense.
  10. This may have been mentioned already and I am too lazy to check but look for Fresno State to be added to the 2010 schedule. They are always a tough physical team.
  11. Anyone notice how Bison Dan was nowhere to be found for about the last month or so. Coincidentally, the Bison were getting their lunch handed to them on a weekly basis for the last month.
  12. Update on the records of the teams we have played or will play this year: TAMKU 6-3 St Cloud St 6-3 Wis Lacrosse 2-5 Idaho St 0-8 SE LA 4-4 W Washington 4-4 UC Davis 5-4 Southern Ill. 5-2 S. Utah 3-5 South Dakota 3-4 TOTAL = 38-42 (if my math is right)

Lets just stay level headed unlike other programs fans. We have had a 'transition' schedule this year and our rankings are very subjective.
  14. I didn't come up with that number, just using what was previously posted. Seems very high to me but I do know that a big part of the package Hawaii puts together for a visiting team is flight, hotel, parties, sight seeing etc. We will make a decent amount of money after all that but I would agree that the total package is nowhere near 750k. They are broke as it is out there, last year helped but it is going to be back to normal now, I would think.
  15. ...and where the injuries are! Stay away from those teams unless you want to end up like Youngstown did. A major portion of that 750k is for flight and hotel obviously. Very expensive to go out there.
  16. Lets get one thing straight, these teams aren't "afraid" to play us. I am sick of reading that. They can't play everybody, we will play who we can, as will South Dakota. Saying teams are "afraid" is stupid and is something you would hear from the fans to the south of us and we do not want to start acting like that.
  17. It had the length, barely, but it would have been good. It missed the left upright by 3-6". Very close.
  18. UND 38 TAMKU 13 Going to be a fun night at the Alerus! Opening Night!!
  19. I cannot wait for the opener Thursday night! Football is finally back, its been a long summer. Lets all get out and support the program and have a good time at the Alerus. This is the official beginning of the D1 transition and the beginning of very big things to come!
  20. You suggested that there is a possibility that we would not be in a conference by then and we wouldn't be able to find games because of it. I asked why we wouldn't be in a conference by then...NDSU and SDSU both found a conference. Why can't we?
  21. NDSU found a conference within 4 years but we will never ever ever find a conference right? I just don't understand why you say stupid stuff like that. You can't honestly believe it, can you? Hell, they took SDSU and their crap facilities, I am pretty sure we're going to find a conference.
  22. And what year are we in the transition? Year 1. NDSU is five years into this thing and are opening up with the same level team they opened with 5 years ago. Don
  23. Old Gene can't get enough of those Pioneer League non-scholarship teams, with Austin Peay being a former member of the PFL as of 2006 I believe! To clarify, Austin Peay has had scholarships for two whole years now. They may be at 60, which would be very surprising, but their juniors and seniors were non scholarship players.
  24. He is not coming until grades are resolved.
