UND has Central Arkansas in 2012 - same thing. Who is there other non-conference home game because that is only 5 home games (including 4 MVFC games)? Flying in Colgate for 1 game is going to cost them a pretty penny (probably around 175k). There is no way they are getting another FCS team for a 6th game, unless it is a return game from a home and home. We will see.

You missed the point. Now that we are at the FCS level, fans do not care how "good" the D2 team is. They are lumping them all together as a lower level team, at least the fans I know are. I know quite well how good top D2 teams are. Do you think anyone is going to leave the Alerus and brag about how good that D2 team was that we just beat? There is a reason FCS teams stay away from Grand Valley and NWMS, etc. Most FCS schools schedule the middle to bottom of the D2 world. You do not take the chance of losing.

If your going to play down --- you play DOWN. There is no difference in a fans's eye between a good D2 and a bad D2. (See the Sioux Falls game as an example- UND could just as easily have scheduled a terrible NAIA and it would have looked the exact same on paper). Nobody knows the difference or cares. They are more than likely pissed it's on the schedule in the first place.

Its not 100-150k --- It is 150k minimum. I can see what Faison is doing in that they can pay Mines 60-70k to bus here and get dang near the same attendance.

I checked out the RPI difference on average between the CBI and CIT. CBI = 119 CIT = 135 Not a huge difference and that also includes UND's 271, which is by far the lowest RPI in any tournament. Plus, the two highest rated teams in these two tourneys (Marshall - 54, Iona - 68) are in the CIT.

You are correct, I forgot about Northern Arizona. That makes four Big Sky teams in post season tournaments.

I see Weber State and Montana got in the CBI tournament. That makes 3 Big Sky teams in post season tourneys.

They would not have found a better OL coach than Mussman. He is top notch and I have a feeling he is missing the Xs and Os of the game and this is his way of getting back in it.

If they didn't have a conference to spoon feed them 8 games every year, it would probably be a pretty ugly schedule if they needed to make a quick, ONE YEAR schedule. It wouldn't be lower level teams but it would be 1 FCS and a bunch of terrible FBS teams. And don't use Nebraska as an example, my god. They can buy 6-7 home games without even thinking about finances.

We can sit and complain about it or just deal with it. This is the schedule for 1 year and we will never have this problem again. The fact is if more people would show up if the AD had more money to guarantee teams. He obviously cannot guarantee 150k to a good FCS team knowing that 6-7k might show up. And I don't want to hear the argument about how people would come if better teams were scheduled, that has been proven false many times.

I was just going to point out that first half timeout. What the hell was the point of that? UVU was going to concede the half with a half-ass in-bounds pass and maybe a hail mary three pointer. Instead, UND calls timeout so they inturn setup a play where they throw a long pass and the guy catches it and hits a three.....all in 1.9 seconds.
