One thing that popped in my head before the fatal "timeout" was called is that it probably isn't smart to have a true freshman in-bounding the ball during the final minute of a game where they other team is going for the steal/foul. Clausen or Allard may have been a better option because they are more experienced and also taller so they can see. Just one guys opinion.

I was told we have the Gophers on the schedule for around 2015-16.

I have a feeling that 2-3 of them are going to be vs. D2 teams. From what I have heard Sioux Falls is one of them and there is another D2 transition team possibly. It sucks, yes. But, frankly I don't care because the path for the future is set with the Big Sky. We have one year left of transition scheduling and then we are done. Our 2012 schedule is LOADED with Central Arkansas opening the season at the Alerus and San Diego State (who is pretty good now) as the guarantee game. That leaves one more game to schedule.

I hope it is 2012. If this years playoff selections tell us anything its that all you have to do is play FCS teams and get to 7 wins. They can be the worst team in the country but they all count the same.

You guys are so pathetic. You find an article from a beat writer, we find an article from the school and their president. Honestly, could the NDSU and SDSU fans be trying any harder to rip apart anything they can find on the Big Sky?
-
Beautiful! Big Sky is looking pretty damn good!
-
If your talking about Thornton, have you ever seen him throw? If he is your QB of the future I cannot wait to play you guys. Jensen is much better. Thornton will be a slow Safety for you guys in 2 years.

Who cares. Get in a conference and nobody will care about it again.

Yah baby! 21-13 Sioux!!!! Totally different play calling and play by the offense!
-
They are no longer Co-Coordinators. Mike Mannausau took over the defense in the off season.

They are leaving tomorrow (Thursday) and staying overnight in Madison. Then getting up and going to Dekalb on Friday.

Normally i would agree but this is looking like a pretty good schedule now. That new coach has it turned around and their excitement is at an all-time high. I would rather play them at this level than consistently play FBS doormats.

I see our sociopathic, insecure buddy JBB is filling in the Idaho fans about us in that same thread. Lakes did this last year with the TT board. Am I the only one who thinks this is totally pathetic? They are basically the face of NDSU Football on these boards. Makes us look better, I guess.

It could be to tough to get many people being the game is on a Thursday in Idaho. I would think there will be a decent amount coming out on the charter flight so hopefully some of them will chime in. Thank you for stepping up and trying to help out!

I agree, a blog like this was long overdue!

http://www.fightingsioux.com A nice interview with Coach Mussman about the additon of the SDSU game, etc. They are doing a nice job with multimedia! --Coach Mussman stated that they are looking to move that SDSU game up to 2011 or 2012 but it tentatively is set for 2013.

We start the year at Idaho and at Northern Illinois. Two FBS teams that played in bowl games last year. Next, lets take a look at the final 3 games of the year: Home vs. UC-Davis At Montana At SDSU This is one hell of a schedule. I cannot imagine any FCS team having a tougher road schedule than this.

I agree, this is a huge announcement for UND athletics. We will still have the same visibility in the FM area but with added print coverage now. I think it is safe to say we will end up with more coverage than we should get in the FM area through this agreement. Also, I would expect a game being put on WDAY-WDAZ TV statewide every year besides the games on FSSN.

There shouldn't be a change in the play-by-play for football. The radio crew is employed by UND itself now so there is no conflict of interest with Dan working for RFM.

Overstreet decided to play baseball once the summer came around. He is attending Johnson County CC in Kansas. Don't know about Field but I had heard good things.

Looks like 1-1 early on in the first game. If you want periodic updates, here is a link: http://twitter.com/UND_Baseball

Per an email sent out by Coach Mussman earlier today (paraphrasing with my own comments): --The offensive staff visited Indiana to get information on how they run the "Pistol" and also their "No-Huddle" offense. Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Villanova were also there. --Also, Coach Mussman is getting back into the offense, don't know to what extent but he will be involved more now. These changes to the offense will be very welcome as it will help get the excitement back for the fans. With the receivers we have coming in this should be fun to watch! --The defensive staff had a shakeup. Mike Mannausau is back in charge of calling the plays and forming the game plan. They are getting back to the true "3-4" defense that has worked so well for the last 21 years. No more of the hybrid 3-4, 4-3 or whatever that was the last two years. Personally I cannot wait to see the true 3-4 defense run again and I am sure the players are looking forward to it too. The move to putting Mike in charge was the right move also since he is a 3-4 guy and knows how to run it the right way. --The defensive staff went to the experts to get the 3-4 back on track. They went down to Southern Illinois for a couple days to go over some ideas with them. Tim Tibesar was also in on these meetings or at another time, don't know when exactly. Sping Ball begins Monday with a high temp of 56! A welcome change.
