Congratulations.

No no no Danny. You guys spent the last 5 years degrading D2 for how poor it is and telling us how you've moved on to a new level. Your not coming back and bragging about all the championships won at that level now. Those are ancient history according to the new FCS Bison fans, you can't have it both ways.

They won't reject UND for the Summit. They took USD and that crap town and facilities. Football will get into the Missouri Valley once their new alignment is set in place, hopefully!
-
Both Basketballs, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball just to name a few. I know it doesn't involve Hockey but try and realize that their is more than 1 sport on campus. And they need to recruit and strengthen their programs now that we are all D1.
-
What people are forgetting is that the coaches of our Summit-bound sports need to have this affiliation written in stone for recruiting purposes. They would no longer have to speculate about the future of the program and would be able to provide a vision for the recruits. That is huge in their eyes. The sooner we lock in our inevitable Summit League spot, the sooner we start getting better recruits and a more stable program. I know there are many hockey people who could care less about that and think the name is more important but they are completely wrong. This is a historic time for all the other sports programs at UND and they need to realize it. The next step would be locking in the Missouri Valley spot for football which is going to happen also. Just not under their current setup.

Yo Yo Yo! Happy Birthday Mark!

It is very nice to see them lock up a respectable FCS team for the home schedule. Initially I didn't like the fact that they have a bye week after the opener against Texas Tech but it could be a blessing before we go on the road for two tough games. I am glad that our administration did everything they could to get the fans a FCS home game, even if that meant kicking back the start of the home slate a few weeks. Lets give Mr. Schepp and Mr. Faison some credit for making this happen. Like others said, they could have settled for another D2 or NAIA team on Sept 12th. Spring Game is April 25th!

That is a good point, Lakes does tend to mess things up and make them all look stupid. I should cut Tony some slack. But the thread was started after the game was over to rejoice in the fact the UND hockey team lost. That was my point.
-
As predicted on this forum, Bisonville has started a separate thread to laugh and rejoice after UND got beat in the NCAA Hockey tournament. We started a thread congratulating them for making the tournament and wishing them good luck and was a positive thread for the most part. I posted in that thread that we will be expecting them to duplicate that for UND since many Bison posters stated that we should be "proud" of their team making it and how they "represent the entire state of ND" (knowing they wouldn't do it). Well, what we got was a 4 page thread about how great it is that UND lost in the tournament. First Class all the way. You run a classy site Tony, we didn't expect anything less.

WCHA Tournament Semi-Final Game in St Paul = 17,729 NCAA Basketball National Tournament Opening Round Game in Minneapolis = 15,794 That is amazing that it would outdraw the NCAA tournament, especially with Kansas in the bracket. Plus it was setup for 31,000 seats and supposedly NDSU was going to bring 30,000.

There will be a 5th home game, guaranteed.
-
I noticed that Portland State, an established Big Sky team, just filled out their schedule by adding Southern Oregon on Sept 12th. Yes, the same Southern Oregon we have scheduled next year. I guess it isn't so easy to fill out an FCS schedule after all.
-
I understand your point. Another analogy would be a game of One on One. I will take on Andy Dick and you take on Shaq and lets see who can stop who from getting to the hole. I am betting on me. The point is 99% of people are going to take his statement of "failing" as a slam. That he is saying they could have stopped the water all by themselves if they had done something different, etc. Which is obviously not the case. He should know better than to phrase it like that.
-
So your comparing the amount/level of water GF got to the amount/level that Fargo got? Please explain to us how they were the same and how the elevations of the cities are comparable, etc. You did say that Fargo fought it off and Grand Forks couldn't, right?
-
Fair enough. We will be expecting many well wishes once the NCAA Hockey Tournament starts from all Bison fans who frequent this board. Sound good? Hopefully there will also be a separate thread started at Bisonville wishing the Sioux Hockey team the best of luck at the tournament.
-
Make sure you post this on Bisonville also since NDSU still needs a Sept 12th game. It must be a tough date to fill because Gene has had 1 home game to fill on his own for the entire 2009 schedule and hasn

True, but the advantage is here: "On top of that, they will only have 2 recruiting classes with 57-60 scholarships vs. NDSU having 6 recruiting classes using 57-63 scholarships. That is an enormous difference in depth and also having six years of players that were targeted as FCS level recruits." The 2005-2006 recruiting classes were down for UND because of the lack of scholarships (36) vs. NDSU and SDSU (57-63). Now they have only had two seasons to get the talent level back up to where it needs to be. Takes time.
-
I agree, no excuses (if the game was to happen, which it won't). We aren't going to make excuses when we play TT so no reason to make excuses for playing an FCS team. We knew going into the game what each teams situation is scholarship wise.
-
UND will not have 63 scholarships for the 2009 season. On top of that, they will only have 2 recruiting classes with 57-60 scholarships vs. NDSU having 6 recruiting classes using 57-63 scholarships. That is an enormous difference in depth and also having six years of players that were targeted as FCS level recruits. The playing field will not be

That injury has happened a few times around here in the past and those athletes were walking with a limp about 1-2 months later. He should be fine by next October. That injury is 10x easier to recover from than blowing out your knee.
-
No, not a thing. Just hoping its an FCS team like everyone else!
-
Sac St is looking for a home game on Sept. 12th. There is no potential there for either UND or NDSU.
-
Brady Hoke left Ball State this year to go to San Diego State so they could be a very good football team in a few years if he can turn them around also. Plus, the players get to go to San Diego! Can't beat that.
-
Thats not correct. After all is said and done you make an amount similar to playing a MAC team or similar to the Idaho figure.

Most UND fans would have no problem playing in the Fargodome for a couple years to start this thing off. We love the Fargodome! Our AD may have another opinion though.
