  1. Central - 4 West Fargo - 2 West Fargo very, very chippy team, numerous runs on Central players, checking from behinds, blatant trips open ice. Not much talent so I guess that is what they have to go with.
  2. No, Lee was nothing like these guys. K-dawg and Gretzky play the body more.
  3. No kidding. I sure hope they win this year, because next year is looking like a growing pains year. At least Marto and Lapoint are getting good playing time this year and looking solid for freshmen.
  4. I can't wait for the annual Minot choke job at state. Kind of like Old Faithful, you can always count on it.
  5. The people that can't admit that Lennon dropped the ball on this one are the same people that will never admit that Lennon (or any Sioux coach) ever make mistakes. Anyone that watched the Winona game could see that Chappel was hurt and limping off the field after plays (before the final limp off). Also, anyone that watched the game would know that UND was never in any real trouble in that game. Yes, if the Sioux would have thrown and interception for a TD, then had Winona recovered an onside kick, then if Aliens had landed at midfield and abducted Freund, Alexander, and Dressler, the Sioux might have been in trouble. I do understand being hesitant at putting a scout team guy in the backfield in a playoff game, regardless of the score. In that scenario, why couldn't Dressler have finished the game in the backfield? Of course Dressler is not big enough to take that kind of pounding on a game by game basis. However, I think Dressler could have handled a quarter and a half in the backfield. UND could have rested Chappel, while having a Harlon Hill candidate that they could trust in the backfield.
  6. Was Chappel banged up last year in the playoff game? That is the whole point. A healthyt Chappel should have been in the game at that point. However, anyone that watched the game, could tell that Chappel was hurt even though his performance was still good.
  7. The coaching staff basically abandoned the run for the Grand Valley State game before the game even started. I know it's beating a dead horse, but one has to wonder what a healthy Ryan Chappel would have meant yesterday. But hey, what do us fans know, I'm sure there was a perfectly good reason to keep trotting an obviously injured Chappel out the week prior against Winona St in a game that was a blowout. The GVSU loss falls on the coaching staff.
  8. I think Lammy is a fine number one goalie. However, if he starts every single game this year, there is a thing called burnout that I am worried about. Also, if Lammy has a rough couple of games, it would be nice to have a backup goalie that you could throw in there for a game that would give Lammy the chance to clear his head. I like Walski, and I always root for the Nodak boys, however, I don't get the feeling that he will be getting a start (at least against a WCHA team) anytime soon.
  9. I hope for UND 17 GVSU 14, I think much more likely is GVSU 34 UND 17
  10. If anyone deserves an extra year or two, it is this coach. He inherited a program that Coach Glas had completely run into the ground. If there is no improvement next year, then it is time to start worrying.
  11. On the one hand, you can't blame UND (or UND diehard fans) for being disappointed in the attendance today. On the flip side, you also can't be overly critical of the people that did not go to the game. It was about the worst case scenario for having a home playoff game. 1) Playing a team that UND should blow out 2) Being the same team they have blown out what seems to be every year in the playoffs 3) Announcing the game will be televised, effectively killing the same day walk up ticket sales 4) Hunting season 5) etc, etc, etc
  12. Not as excited as Grand Valley State is to get a UND with a weaker than normal Defense and top two running backs dinged up.
  13. Frederick Palowotzky........... It's Ogre you a--h--- (From the Belching Contest)
  14. Sioux are losing to Adams? I guess that Gilbert, Lewis, Lamar Latrell, Wormser, Booger, the Ogre, Stan Gable, and Poindexter can play some pretty good ball.
  15. For those Lee apologists that thought everyone would be on Lapoint's case early on since Lee was no longer around to be a target........I would take Lapoint or Marto right now, ahead of the player that Lee was at the end of last year. It is still very early, but I think Marto and Lapoint are both going to work out. Yeah they aren't the most physical of d-men, but at least they aren't afraid of getting hit either.
  16. Give the tribal councils a cut of license revenues. Say 25 cents for every t-shirt sold. Make it a long a** contract for say 25 or 30 years so we don't have to revisit this anytime soon. The tribes will stop listening to "outside forces" like the Bellecourt's of the world once the money starts flowing. Also, find a Sioux artist to draw a new logo to be used going forward (with the understanding that existing logos are kept at REA). This should give those against the nickname one less thing to complain about.
  17. No problem. I guess I missed the part where Chicago came into play.
  18. When it comes to crooked politicians, tribal councils have everyone beat. I say take the offer, buy off a few people on the council (which will be easy). Get that agreement signed, put it in a safe deposit box, and keep the name forever!!!!!!!!
  19. Wow, for awhile there Eslinger was labeled as a can't miss prospect at Center. Wonder what happened besides possibly being a bit undersized.
  20. Yea, like do they mean period of time as in a couple of years or period of time like when the last time the Men's basketball team was competetive?
  21. I agree, heck, during the Kleven game, weren't the penalties almost even? How could anyone expect the Goofs to win without their customary twice as many power play opportunities. Kleven was just trying to even things out and look what it got him.
  22. I guess with the whole NBA thing, no one can ever question whether refs fix or favor games. Anybody that watched the third period of this game, has to wonder what was going on. What a complete joke. If the refs are going to hand the game to the Goofs, then give RPI the courtesy of telling them that before the tourney so they don't waste the trip. How many more times do we have to see the Goofs get three and four straight power plays in the third period of close games and consistently have twice as many power play opportunities for the game versus their opponents. I would be ashamed to be a Gopher fan after what just happened in that game. Reminds me of Michael Jordan rules, give him as many calls as necessary so he can win the game.
