  1. Been a very well officiated game, but the near sides linesman has been struggling with offsides both ways....my goodness.
  2. Great shift by the Lamoureax line. Slowly but surely the game is becoming North Dakota's.
  3. Great kill, with some good intensity in the corners.
  4. Gotta love NCAA tournament hockey. I only get this nervous/edgy feeling when the Sioux are in the NCAA tournament. Only comes once a year, but worth every second!
  5. I mentioned it in an earlier post. It used to be a top seed dominated tournament, but now any game is a toss up. Michigan....done. Miami....done. Would not be surprised in the least bit if two #1 seeds fell today (hopefully not the #1 seed I'm cheering for )
  6. I'm a former goalie, know the pain of losing in OT.....But kinda glad that Hunwick felt the pain after that crap he pulled against the Sioux at the X last year. Mr. Sagaard said it best......Union...Lowell....Ferris....Cornell.....in the national championship. The only player on any of those teams I could name before the year started was the goalie from Cornell and maybe the Union goalie.
  7. When they're playing each other in an empty arena for the Big Ten conference tournament everyone will find out. I hope I'm wrong because it won't be good for college hockey, but if Michigan can't even fill the Joe for their conference championship game, I don't think it's going to happen anywhere else. Imagine Michigan State vs. Michigan in the Big Ten Championship hockey game at the XCEL energy center.....5,000 maybe?
  8. I'll admit to you that I was hoping for Cornell. Saturday is a toss up IMHO. Heck, the entire regional is a toss up. Any team can make it to Tampa, and the team that comes out of the St. Paul has a helluva chance to win the national championship.
  9. I remember watching that game in Brannon Hall wondering why more Sioux fans weren't in attendance.....probably a good thing.....losing to Ferris at the John isn't a fond memory. I do remember that fricken goalie from Ferris having the game of his life against the Sioux and then literally pooping his breezers against the gophers.
  10. I think Saturday has two good hockey games in store for everyone at the West Regional. I think one of the biggest factors will be the crowd. Will the Sioux fans out spirit the gopher fans, and if so, its a road game for the Broncos....or will Goldy crawl out from under the rock they've been hiding under since Friday night and make it as tough on the Sioux as possible? Everything from here is gravy for me as a Sioux fan. Looking forward to some great college hockey all weekend long!
  11. I'll go with.... BC, Miami, Michigan, Minnesota. (Because I'm always wrong).
  12. Agreed, very tough stretch. Every team in the NCAA tournament is a good team, and over the years I think the lower seeds have caught up to the higher seeds to the point where any game in the tourny is a toss up. I don't think there is any way that UND looks past Western. They should have beat DU last year and just beat Hobey Hunwick (he won't win it, but you get it) and the real U of M at the Joe. I'll never doubt this team though.....it can be done.
  13. Completely agree. Whatever happens from here on out you can't ever forget this team. They will forever have a place in my heart as one of the hardest working hockey teams I've ever seen at any level. There will never be a team to make the NCAA postseason tournament again that can't fill up a roster sheet going into an NCAA tournament game. Three and a half lines......walk ons.....Freshman playing huge rolls......injuries. Gosh I love the Fighting Sioux.
  14. I was extremely instrumental in getting the "Ryan Seacrest" cheer started last year before the UND-CC game. He got red in the face and took another jab (which he has taken many over the years) at Sioux fans. I talked to him when he was walking by and told him it was just all fun and games and he gave me a nasty look and wouldn't give me the time of day. Guy is a prick. Won't miss him when the final five is gone.
  15. Looks as if the team that lost their way into the easy region this year was Miami or Michigan State. My goodness....talk about a break for those teams. Although Union is a world beater....ask anyone....
  16. The USCHO expert just posted his bracket, which I don't think will happen....here is the link. http://www.uscho.com/bracketology/2012/03/17/our-final-prediction-for-the-2012-ncaa-tournament/
  17. Ohh absolutely Dell. But I think the kind of performance he had in his only appearance deserved a bit of recognition. No reason why they can't have more than one goalie on the all tournament team IMHO.
  18. Nice to see Dell on the all tourny team. Should have put Brittain on it too for his game against Duluth. He was the reason Denver was in the title game to begin with.
  19. Yeah, Miami learned that the hard way last year......
  20. Bracket integrity. Although $$ integrity could come into play....
  21. This thing is an absolute mess. They try to stay away from interconference first round games, but thats almost impossible with Western and Michigan State being where they're at. BC, love them or hate them, deserves to play the lowest seeded team (Air Force) as the number one seed. You can't skip three seeds down for Michigan to play Cornell. The NC$$ has some splainin to do tomorrow after they make their selections.
  22. Regional top seeds, Northeast: BC East: Union Midwest: UND West: Michigan
  23. So Jackson throws a punch, and a slash and puts Forbort in a headlock and gets two minutes.....jeez....drop the gloves if you'll only get two.
  24. I think someone already posted what I was going to post....don't take the foot off the pedal. No time to sit back and watch Denver try and make plays. Get the puck deep, and create off the cycle like they've been doing all night.
