They lost to the 6th ranked FCS team in the country by 7 points at home. They aren't great, but they aren't Valpo.

They played Davis pretty close before falling apart in the second half. Always an adventure on the road when playing against Big Sky teams and their officials. I'll say UND 38. Portland State 24.

Looks like Portland State can score a little bit, but their defense can't stop a nose bleed. They were extremely undisciplined last year and made tons of mistakes, a little of that has carried over and thus they are 0-2. Big Sky team on the road and a 9pm start...be wary of terrible officiating and a let down before Lincoln.

They've done what they are supposed to do to this point. I've enjoyed the creativity on the offensive side of the ball. Now they spend a month on the road. Late night football next Saturday night.

I guess I wasn't surprised to see "9" make the team. Nobody wanting to take that trade, and KOC still with that glimmer of hope in his mind that he's the QB guru and can make him into an NFL QB. I'm sure we will see all three QB's play at some point this year with the injury history of Kyler and "9". Maybe gopher legend Max Brosmer ends up back on the 53 man when all is said and done. First game seems like forever away.

My thoughts are with everyone. Got to have a capable back up QB if Jerry takes a shot. Didn't see a single snap of the game live, but we need more if he's called into a time where things get a bit dicey. 1-0, on to the next week. I liked what I saw with the first half play calling. The athleticism from the WR group is evident, and a good way to open up the field for TE use (gasp), and for the running game.

Schmidt not happy with the 2nd teamers, and some of the DBs notably. Upholding the standard a theme as well. If they win 63 rip but lose a starter we are pissed. They pull Jerry and a few others and get shutout the 2nd half and it looks less dominant we are also pissed. Onward

Well, my TV is not showing me football, but Jack has me entertained. Nice to see the ball moved around the yard a bit.

Excited for the kids to hit someone with a different jersey. Also wishing and saying a prayer for their health in what is a violent game, and a long season ahead. I'll say 49-14 still. Looking forward to a suffocating defense, and the playbook opening up a bit from last season.

Hopefully we have a good student section for the game. I'm still greedily hoping that many leave the game by the 4th quarter and figure out where they are getting their thirst on on a Thursday evening as the game has become a yawner.
