Anybody watch any of the B tournament in Minot today? You had two Minot private schools playing, but other than that wondering how full the dome has been?
-
I just can't believe a Kwesi pick wouldn't work out. Guessing Kyler beats out the group then a team needing a QB may use a 7th for JJ.....I mean 9.

(Dusts off thread) Alright, the Minnesota Twins start next week in beautiful Baltimore with all sorts of questions and concerns, but according to the owner we'll compete. Rotation: Ryan, Ober, SWR, Taj Bradley, Mick Abel.....lets just hope nobody gets hurt here. Bullpen: Who knows other than Rogers, Sands, Funderburk.....I think Hendricks should make the team right? Catcher: Its Jeffer's show now that Vasquez is gone, and Caratini I guess is the backup. 1B: Josh Bell against lefties, Clemens against the righties. 2B: Keaschall, who should also lead off and play every day. 3B: Royce. Who is hitting right around .100 this spring. SS: Brooks Lee. Now the every day SS. OF: Buxton, Wallner, Roden, Martin. DH: Larnach, Bell, Jeffers. Not sure who has the inside track as the extra utility guys. I would carry 13 pitchers for sure the entire season, because I imagine there will be some short starts.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
Wilbur replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Glad that things have worked out with Jax taking over for Berry. I hope something that doesn't get overlooked by some is the people that were brought in. Smaby is a no BS guy who will likely be a head coach somewhere. They brought in JPL to coach the goaltenders and low and behold we've got the NCHC goaltender of the year. Brynn Chyzyk comes in as the GM and it seems to me like we've got a good pipeline of kids coming in to where we shouldn't have to rely on the portal. Yeah we probably hurt some feelings with letting go of KG and Berry, but the moves were necessary and I hope our AD acts in a similar fashion with all sports needing a change of culture. -
He was available tonight. What makes things worse is the one guy Venezuela had left could only pitch in save situations per the Cubs. So if they use Miller they likely face Mochado in his third inning of relief or a lesser reliever in the 9th if its tied.
-
I think that meant more for Venezuela. One of my favorite guys (Arraez), works a lead off walk, they steal a base, and drive in the pinch runner. A lot more managing done on the Venezuelan side.
-
How do you not pinch hit Henderson for Will Smith there?
-
I'd doubt the NCAA knows they have hockey.
-
DeRosa trying to keep friends for MLB network interviews with Harper, Schwarber. Overall he's been a terrible manager this WBC.
-
Part that sucks too is Sandy and company getting in the PK mindset and thinking they'd have to kill a major penalty because it was blatantly obvious. Ho hum, Bibby just gets two assists afterwards, no big deal.
-
USA vs. Venezuela. I'm expecting the bullpens to be extremely active in this one. McLean vs. Rodriguez. Rodriguez had a 5 ERA last season for Arizona, but is a lefty, and team USA has got a ton of those in the lineup. Guessing you may see Buxton and Bregman start this evening, but PCA and Henderson have been pretty good for them. Big question for team USA is whether Miller is available tonight. Reports coming out that the Padres may not want him on the mound this evening.

Do you mean can't play Michigan or Michigan State or is there some kind of between the lines bylaw that I'm missing out on?
-
Ohh what the heck, if this happened: Albany: 1. Michigan vs. 16. Clarkson 8. Penn State vs 9. Cornell Sioux Falls 2. UND vs 15. Bentley 7. Providence vs. 10. The Q Worcester 3. Sparty vs. 13. St. Thomas 5. Duluth vs. 12. UCONN Loveland 4. Western vs. 14. Ohio State 6. Denver vs. 11. Dartmouth
-
Ran another scenario. This scenario would mean St. Thomas in Sioux Falls, and likely the winner of Duluth and Penn State if they beat St. Thomas?
-
If Denver is the 6, they could flop 6 and 7 and keep Cornell out east while Denver has to play in Loveland. Honestly the whole bracket could be the same minus Sparty being in place of UND in Worcester. If Duluth sneaks in at 5, and Denver 6, the committee is going to have to get a bit creative. I think that would absolutely nuke Sioux Falls attendance, so it would make sense to keep UND in Sioux Falls against likely Minnesota State right away as I can't imagine the NCAA flying three east coast schools to Sioux Falls.
-
I just ran a this scenario: Winners: Mankato over St. Thomas. Dartmouth, Cornell, Cornell wins Umass, Uconn, Uconn wins Michigan over Ohio State Duluth over Denver Bentley wins This puts Duluth at the 5th seed and Denver 6th. Would UND then end up in Colorado as the 2 possibly?
-
I'll agree with several. If we are of the belief that our bracket needs to line up a certain way we're in trouble. 2016 we played the HE tournament champs, then B1G tournament champs, then a really good Denver squad before the ECAC champ Q Bobcats.

Fun game to watch. Feel for the DR on strike 3 call that was low, but thats the human element I guess. No Joe Ryan on Tuesday. Find a way to get it to inning #5 and you've got a great chance.
-
They kicked our butts, but I need an explanation on the spearing. Especially when I watched Verhoeff get a butt ending major that wasn't even close to being as nasty as the cup check.
-
Japan goes down, kind of surprised, but credit to Venezuela fighting back. I'll pick the Dominican tonight, and Venezuela over Italy. I don't think Italy has the pitching and will have the full attention of Venezuela in Miami.
-
Well I'm upset with the #2 overall seed and a likely visit to Sioux Falls with a bunch of our fans there. I'd rather sit and watch UMASS and Minnesota play in Fargo....
-
The XGA will tell the tale. Hopefully something comes back that we were supposed to win based on shots or something.
-
I'm waiting for the analytics per Jax so I can pass judgements on this.
-
Could be Minnesota State as well.
-
You could have two CCHA teams in the tournament if the purple cows beat St. Thomas and no other upsets. That could mean UND-Mankato in Sioux Falls. Hopefully UCONN ends BC's season. Merrimack a punchers chance. They win two games and they could end up in Massachusetts or Albany. It'd be a shame if no Beanpot schools made it. I wouldn't count Clarkson out in the ECAC. They looked good against the Q sweeping Rand in his home rink.
