  1. Key piece of your post is "with coaching." I'm afraid that hasn't been a trademark of coach Jones in his time at UND. I'd love for him to prove me wrong. I do agree that Shanks, Hooker, and Crandall have potential to be good players and could get us to the top of the Big Sky, now let's see if that potential can be developed.
  2. From what I've found, sounds like they were a drive in. Wonder if they are planning to do a drive in with the new restaurants?
  3. Anyone ever tried King Leo's? Can't say that I have. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/business/3646654-around-town-king-leos-plans-return-grand-forks
  4. How about Spirit Rocks, or Rock Spirits...or maybe Lake Rocks???
  5. Ok, I think I recall reading that they play in one of the lower conferences in Florida. Hadn't watched any tape on them.
  6. Any word on those twin RB's from Florida or are they Junior's this year? I don't recall and too lazy to dig through the threads to find it...
  7. Well, since you asked...the answer is Liberty. It's actually happened five times since 2002. http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2013/3/11/4088244/liberty-worst-ncaa-tournament-team
  8. You need to turn on your sarcasm meter...
  9. For the most part you are correct. The one big difference NDSU has over UND is they are in Fargo and not GF. Fargo is a progressive town with lots of business and lots of people investing money into businesses there. GF simply is not. blame it on the%GOBC if you want or blame on the demographics of being a blue collar town. I just hope GF and UND don't fall too far behind otherwise it could become a situation similar to U Idaho and Boise St. Also, NDSU understands how important a role that athletics can play promoting and growing their university. UND on the other hand seems to not care too much...
  10. Well #40 May not be very good but he's lighting us up.
  11. Pretty sure you need to go back read what he wrote again. Carson Wentz plays college, he was referring to ND high School players,
  12. Since the program is being dropped at UAB, I believe players will be able to transfer to other FBS schools without having to sit a year. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I would guess most of the UAB players will be looking at FBS schools to transfer to before they look to FCS and lower schools.
  13. Looks like he played RB and LB in high school. Any thoughts on how UND will use him?
  14. Wow, appears we are playing quite well. I see we are 10/11 from the free throw line also...
  15. Looks like I touched a nerve darrell ((based on your posts in a couple other threads). I have no issues with people bringing up NDSU when it's relevant. Your NDSU posts are often irrelevant to what is taking place in the thread. Had you stated the NDSU-UMC score followed up with some analysis such as UMC played a zone D which forced took away the post players for NDSU forcing them to look for outside shots. Then pose a possible game plan as to how how UND could use it to their advantage, then fine...that would be a relevant post as opposed to informing us that NDSU had a close game with UMC. You bring up NDSU and quote bisonville more than anyone else here. That's your thing, I get it...I was just suggesting we put it all in one thread so we don't have to see it in mutiple threads in multiple forums. PS. Hopefully no one bashes my hypothetical bball analysis summary above. I did not watch the game, see any highlights, or read any news stories to see what happened. I am far from a basketball genius so I was just typing off the top of my head...
  16. We also have a tournament in Utah this weekend. Do you have any updates or insights on Alabama St., Utah, or Texas Pan Am. Or how about the Drake or the UM games next week? Again, just sayin'...
  17. I have a suggestion for a new forum topic, or at least a new thread: Darrel's "All things NDSU" thread. Just sayin'...
  18. I'm surprised no one posted this story... http://www.valleynewslive.com/story/27462482/man-arrested-after-assaulting-wife-and-biting-a-taxi-drivers-nose-off?clienttype=generic&smartdevicecgbypass
  19. I had a couple relatives in town for their first Sioux game (one from Maryland, the other from Texas). They loved it. Lot's "fights," lots of scoring ( Didn't we put up 7 goals?)
  20. Fellow Big Sky team, Montana Grizzlies, are hosting the College Football kick off game next year. They are playing the NDSU Bisons on ESPN. Nice to see FCS and the Big Sky get some national attention. http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/ndsu-montana-open-2015-college-football-season-espn
  21. I saw the complex a few weeks ago and was curious what it was. Seems as though it's out in the middle of nowhere. Does anyone know if there is future development planned around the complex?
  22. Obviously they were a back up plan. Who has more history in College hockey, SCSU or ND? Yet which school was the NCHC trying to go after? Not a great fit, but the next best thing. SCSU was also showing some commitment to hockey as they were planning/started a multi million dollar renovation to their arena. UND/Denver left the WCHA because they didn't want to be in a conference where the majority of teams had "small budgets."
  23. Why do you think UND and Denver left the WCHA? There's a reason they didn't ask MTU, Mankato, Ferris State, etc, to come along to the NCHC. The schools you mention are all small budget schools that can't compete with the Big Schools. If hockey continues to expand, who would you want to be aligned with? I think UND's already given their answer...reference the NCHC. Edit: should clarify that when I say "can't compete with the big schools" I'm referring to budgets. BGSU has greater potential, should they choose to make hockey a priority.
  24. If the "big boys" of the college world start up hockey programs, I'd much rather have a DI school like BGSU in our league than Mankato or Tech. I don't know that Tech or MSU have the funds to keep up with the DI schools.
