My thoughts, Talent is great, but getting players character guys, guys willing to work and get better are important. Guys willing to play hard and do will give their all whether up by 20 or down by 20 go along ways and that helped stabilize the program since Muss has left. Our line play needs to continue to improve, depth is getting better. Now we need a few gamers, we are getting that with our RB’s. Missouri State showed what speedy receivers can do, if we can get one or have one stand out, to compliment our out her receivers we are close to being great. This has been frustrating season, how this team finishes and who stays will dictate the immediate future.

Bum Phillips said plays don’t win games; players do, he later added coaches need to call plays that players can understand and execute. We are lacking this (plays guys can understand and execute) at times. And this game showed it.

I agree focus on the now! Missouri State and the rest of the season. Some people are making Otis being at a high school game being as bad as getting a minor or DUI.

Caleb place 3rd in shot and disc in class B State Meet last year. When watching the state meet he looked like an athletic kid.

Great win, now need to beat a decent Missouri State team.

Depends when his 10 days are up or he tested fine that day. I do not know the details and it really not my business. What matter is the team and if there are issues it’s usually taken care of in the locker room. All that matters is he and the team shows up Saturday ready to win.

I know for a fact Brayden Thomas of NDSU was offered a PWO to both schools. He went to Mary and then Mankato and worked his his butt off. These kids can play, however many want to play within a few years and may not want to wait.

This loss stings. USD loss was the NDSU hangover that should not have happened. No Weah this game, I thought that would deflate the team. It may have but they rallied and had their chance to win. This league is tough, I may be an optimist but our season still has a pulse. Though it is faint. If those in the locker room won’t quit on each other and then anything can happen. Crazy things happen in college football. (Like a crappy 6-5 Western Illinois getting in over a solid 7-4 UND team) My brief take aways are: Defense is playing better then I expected except 1st quarter last two weeks. Holinka has grown as a defensive coordinator. Offensively I think UND is lacking an identity. Thus the inconsistency which is frustrating. As Forest Gump would say, “That’s all I have to say about that.”

He placed in shot and disc last year at state. He has been playing varsity I think since freshman year. He has decent feet. He is a great instate get. He could be a solid nose guard as he gets more size in my opinion.

Unless our defense gets it going, this has the feeling of the Idaho State blowout loss.

If defense performs well, we will win. If defense is average we may lose by two scores.

4th down call, instead of offense, I would have preferred fake punt because of the element of surprise. We did have the gutsy fake last year against SDSU I believe and that got the team going last Spring.

I agree with those who talk about stopping NDSU’s run game. Last year’s game, JMU loss and prior playoff loss to Nichols State shows we need to do a better job at this. UND needs to do what they did in the late 80’s and early 90’s which they schemed and recruited to beat NDSU. I think we are on the right track, hopefully this week we close the gap more or move ahead.

I don’t mind playing Drake, there will be plenty of physical Missouri Valley games. Need to develop depth.

Disappointing

I agree, defense seems fine, offense lackadaisical for sure for the first part of the quarter.

UND 48-Drake 17

Conservative UND play we lose 20-38 Aggressive UND play we pull off the upset 41-38 on a gutsy 4th down call late in the game similar to Cal Poly a few years ago.

41-37 UND

I think attendance will be near normal unless hospitalizations go nuts like last November when we had to send patients out of state/ and bring in nurses from out of state to help.

This team is a tough match up double tight with wing, man on man blocking. Not able to get off blocks and their backs are shifty enough to make the first man miss.

D need tackle for loss, get them in 2nd and longs....
