With Gordie as run game coordinator hopefully we won’t abandon the run too early when it was working. (That is the one thing that frustrated me, except the NDSU game where we ran it at them). With Danny am expecting completion percentage go up, I do hope for some deeper pass attempts, pass routes on third do not go to shallow(I believe that was a common with him and of course Issac went deep more…I sound like Goldilocks) and finally being at SDSU and with Gordie use our TE’s with the pass.

When Danny was here we settled on looking for local FCS, D2 and NAIA talent and did not try for FBS. (Which is fine when taking a chance on an athlete from lower division). In other words I felt Bubba under utilyze this. I am banking Danny and our new hire will be more proactive in finding playmakers at WR.

If, when Danny is here, Gordie I still think would be next in line. More experience/learning he could be the heir apparent. Schmidt says he wanted coaches with energy and desire to improve their craft, if so, we will lose some assistants but still can get quality especially if we continue our trajectory.

Not sure, we will find out tomorrow I think. Did run the 100 in 10.82 senior year, hopefully that translates quicker on the field.

Isaac’s guy from Winona that he recruited in 2023?

He was a Sophomore, Gavin ran a 11.33 his senior year. I know Track speed does not always translate to football. Gavin broke some long runs (NDSU comes to mind more so than host Drake run) Seidel ran a sub 11.00. Fleming ran about an 11.00 100. speed helps, twitchy quick muscles with speed is dangerous. Dressler 10.44 speed and quick muscles, a rarity to get. Lastly I would expect speed and strength program will help improve that.

11.21 PR sophomore year in track and 11.34 junior year. Did not compete senior year. He has some speed.

Noticed a few Washington State/SDSU players are in portal, be interesting if they follow there coach or move back closer to home.

If there is a quality QB coach Schmidt knows, Gordie may get his chance, as a TE coach I would think more TE usage. If Danny comes back then Gordie could move if OC job offered. IMO, we need speed at WR in order to utilize TE more. I still think when Danny was here our taller receivers were used as TE would and besides Bo, we had no true speed threat. Teams that have success with TE in pass game have that speed.

I think Isaac and Olson were retained for helping keeping roster together after Bubba retired. This year may have been the year see if he stays permanently. After the second half collapse offense this season, I am hoping Issac has applied for some D2 or FCS head coaching (I think that is his goal to be a HC). If that happens Olson would probably go to. If so, I think our TE coach will get promoted, and Schmidt brings in an OL coach and QB coach next year. If no change, I am certain there will be some changes with scheme or offensive approach. Schmidt said coaches/players are held accountable, Schmidt is an ultra competitor, something will have to change on offense. Bad games happen (NDSU showed that today) string of games like we had, then there needs to be adjustments on what you are scheming or utilizing players. I am babbling so I better stop.

My only guess is Deng played less because of his blocking on the perimeter. But we need play makers on the field in BIG games. Shows how special Bo was. As an old O-line guy, the line better start figuring things out and play with an edge.

I believe there is overlap with their days at UND.

My guess, Isaac is going to move on to be a HC elsewhere with Olson. I cannot fathom Schmidt is going to go through this next year. Offense stagnet, QB play has regressed and the O-line has also regressed in the run game blocking/push. This is gross to listen to on Radio.
